bring back the fire in her eyes
Aurora was a nice school, but there was nothing more Nuria could say about it. Other than the fact that it was the perfect target for an attack. Had this administration not learned anything from the past? Oh well, she'd have to make the best of it while she called this place home. Nuria was still having a hard time adjusting to normal life, after being on the run for long. Every little movement she saw out of the corner of her eye would make her jump. She knew she was no match for Vin or anyone for that matter. Sure, she had control of her powers now, but she didn't have a single clue on how to physically defend herself or fight. There was only so much time left until he came after all the metas in the school, she needed to prepare herself.
That's how she ended up here. She'd overheard a couple of students talking about their martial arts class. The perfect opportunity presented itself to her one afternoon. She had nothing better to do that sit around her room all day, so she decided that it wouldn't hurt to try it out. Before class started, Nuria lingered outside the door, unsure if she truly wanted to go through with it. People were already beginning to partner up and she was sure they were at a higher level than beginner. As she watched the other kids begin their breathing and stretching exercises, she noticed a boy by himself. Her blue eyes studied him for a few seconds; he didn't look like he was at an advance level.
As she entered the room, the instructor welcomed her, making her regret her decision. She'd never been much of a people person and getting attention was not something she wanted. She made her way to the back of the room, all the while keeping her eyes on the redhead. He didn't seem to have a partner, so she hesitantly approached him. "Hello," she spoke, still unsure of what she wanted to say. "Do you mind if I join you? This is my first time."
