POWER DESCRIPTIONS

Pyrokinesis: Currently, his ability to create and control fire varies based on his emotional state. When completely calm he is currently capable of doing litle more than burning a piece of paper, the fire itself is still very hot but it lacks much volume, being no bigger than a baseball. However, scaling with his emotions, he is capable of engulfing a three bedroom house with fire when fully enraged. However, he can do little more than project fire in this case and has no control over it. He is also highly resistant to fire based attacks.

Cyrokinesis: Like his Pyrokinesis, his cyrokinesis also scales with his emotions. When fully enraged he is incapable of freezing even a drop of rain currently. However, in his usual state of mind, he is capable of freezing things within a 20m radius and capable of forming small handheld objects such as a dagger. When in a state of complete calm his range extends to 50m and can form objects up to two meters long. In both of the latter states of mind, he is capable of moving and manipulating the ice, but to a higher degree in the latter case.

APPEARANCE

Standing at 5ft 10, James is slightly above average for his age in terms of height. He has a relatively sporty build with some light muscle tone visible throughout his body, sitting around 13% body fat most of the year and 65kg. His skin is slightly tanned thanks to being 1/4 Italian on his mum's side.

His most notable feature is without a doubt his red auburn hair, it's generally quite scruffy and falls around eyebrow length. It frames his golden eyes and face quite nicely. He could be considered quite handsome, appearing youthful yet mature and caring at the same time. He could quite easily pass for 18, especially given the relatively deep tone of his voice.

He generally favours tracksuits and comfortable clothing over things that are particularly stylish. He has no sense of fashion so he doesn't even try most of the time, he has even on occasion worn a pikachu cap as a joke but also because he thinks it is cool.

PERSONALITY

James is at heart, a kind individual who always wants to do right by others. It upsets him to see others upset, and even feels deep guilt about not being able to give change to beggars if he doesn't have any on him at the time. He's even gone to a store to buy sandwiches on his card for them instead so they can at least have some food.

As a child he had a very sheltered upbringing, not socialising much in his younger years, and even in his teens didn't socialise much due to a restrictive family who made it awkward. As a result, he isn't well versed in social etiquette despite being a natural extrovert. This has led to his somewhat dorky behaviour, and geeky inclinations.

He is actually somewhat shy under his dorky extrovert exterior, he's not used to compliments and he often doubts his capacity in both academics and practical things despite seemingly possessing a relatively high aptitude in both.

Whilst he has a very long fuse, James does possess a temper. A very wild temper at that, he can endure torment for years without snapping, but if somebody was to do something capable of triggering his rage they would be very surprised to see something barely recognisable as James, violent and very aggressive.

He believes that most people are essentially good but some are misguided or abrasive, but it's good that they can be themselves. He really doesn't understand why people want to be others because everybody is special and they should just dork out if they want to.

BIOGRAPHY

Born into an upper working class family, James was neither rich nor poor and didn't really want much as a child. His parents were very supportive, too supportive actually as they almost smoothered him in attention. Even when he went to school he felt awkward being away from his parents due to having very little separation from them. He was also quite embarrassed about bringing friends home in case he parents were as doting as they always were. It was hard to say no as they had good intentions, but he wanted freedom.

Being so restricted by his parents and being somewhat of a dork lead to bullying, bullying that would start from just age 6 until that night happened. He was 14 and it was a normal day complete with an unhealthy dose of being pushed around and a biweekly beating. He'd endured it for years but on this particular day, he snapped, with chaotic results. The bullies were badly burned and the entire school caught light.

James didn't know what happened and went into denial for a while but was soon scouted out, his powers identified and swiftly signed up to the school as a matter of public safety. Officially it was a gas explosion which caused the fire, but James knew the truth. Knowing the kids would survive he felt a bit better, and with help managed to work through the guilt in his first year at the school where his afinity for ice would be discovered.

Now mostly over that dark chapter of his life, he hopes to mingle and make more friends in his second year. But most importantly, gain better control over his powers. A repeat of the last incident would be a nightmare come true, literally.
