ELLIE SINCLAIR

ANIMAL SHIFTING. | NIGHT Vision. |

POWER DESCRIPTIONS
Ellie was gifted with the power to shift into animals at will. She found this particular power quite early on and did her best to hide it from everyone she knew, thinking she was some sort of freak of nature due to the cat ears that never quite seemed to shift away despite her best effort. As such she received no formal training until she ran into an Aurora Academy recruiter and her powers are still generally undeveloped.
Ellie prefers to take form of a small tabby cat, blueish in nature much like her hair. In cat form she has heightened night vision much like the form she takes. She is able to shift into smaller animals as well but the effort is great and leaves her fatigued quickly. As such, she avoids it unless absolutely necessary. All of her shifts have the odd blueish tinge to it.
In her preferred house cat form she is able to maintain the shift for over thirty minutes until her body forces her to change back. In other forms the time is often shorter and may come with possible deformities. The night vision seems dependent on her shifting ability, becoming more pronounced as she is in a different form.

APPEARANCE
Ellie has always been a very small being. Standing at 4'11", she is ninety-three pounds soaking wet. With a very slight build, she suffers quite a bit in the stamina category. With pale skin, her large bright blue eyes seem to stand out... Almost as much as her pale blue hair. If the odd colors weren't shocking enough, Ellie sports two large feline ears that seem to have replaced her human ones. She often covers them with a hat, claiming she just has a fondness for head ware.
Ellie keeps her school uniform up to code, preferring to keep up her rather innocent appearance. Outside of a school setting she can be seen in typical street attire, following the latest trends and fashion. She keeps her body free of tattoos or piercings, afraid of how they will affect her ability to shift properly or identify as

PERSONALITY
Ellie is a kleptomaniac, and her personality revolves around maintaining her addiction to stealing everything. From an early age she took advantage of her rather childlike looks, playing up on a rather shy or naive character to pilfer the goods of whomever she was targeting. She is quite two-faced in most of her interactions, playing upon the sympathies of others to get her way.
Ellie is not entirely a horrible person. Her kleptomania comes from a void in her childhood she is desperately trying to fill... With everything she can get her hands on. Keeping friends can be hard when they notice the correlation between her presence and their suddenly missing things. The loneliness drives her to do crazy things sometimes, getting in toxic relationships in an effort to find companionship.
Cunning is also a rather accurate word to describe Ellie. She can often be found in her house cat form, sneaking into places a human otherwise wouldn't be able to go unnoticed. The rush of the theft is often more rewarding than the actual object and she has become quite good with disposing of her stolen wares.
On the few occasions Ellie is able to make connections, she is a fairly good friend. Although rather flighty and prone to stealing your things, she is good company. With a rather dark past, she is sympathetic to those who have struggled to become what they are today and often finds herself attracted to those who seem successful.

BIOGRAPHY
Ellie Sinclair was born into a rather wealthy part of the Sinclair family. Living in a rather affluent area, the young child wanted nothing and so ... she got bored. Her first theft came at the age of six, a simple apple taken from a street vendor. Her parents stepped in, swatting her hand and paid the vendor. It was brushed so quickly under the able Ellie quickly learned that parents with money meant consequences weren't something she had to worry about.
At the age of eleven, she experienced her first shift. The market was her new favorite target, lavishing in the rush of stealing and getting away with it. By this point many vendors knew her as a thief, often chasing her away before she came close... Only sweetening the eventual reward. As she often did, she slipped into a crowd and came close to a stall selling gaudy fake jewelry. In a single swift motion, three necklaces had vanished into her sleeve and as she was about to turn and casually walk away, a hand grabbed her wrist and pulled her from the crowd.
The vendor had caught her and a fire burned behind his eyes. "You think I didn't see you?" He snarled, pulling her forward and shaking the jewelry from her sleeve. "Your parents might not punish you, but I will..."
For the first time in her life, Ellie was faced with consequences. A squeak of fear escaped her lips and she tried to jerk away from the iron grasp, to no avail. The vendor pulled her swiftly from the market square, dragging her down an alleyway as Ellie wailed for help. As fear mounted and the girl kicked and punched in an effort to break free, something... Happened.
The next thing she knew she was sprinting away, the world suddenly much larger. She ran on instinct, flying through the crowd until she found herself hidden far away from the bustling road and near a stream. The girl trembled with fatigue, panting heavily as she approached the water. She meant to reach into the cool waters and splash some upon her face when she realized her hands had been replaced by small blue paws. Panic quickly overtook her, and she rushed to look at her reflection. Instead of her face, a small oddly colored cat peered back at her.
The surprise of this shocked her back into her normal human form. The only thing that seemed different was the large blue ears that seemed permanently affixed to the top of her head. The following weeks were a whirlwind, her family withdrawing her from school and sticking her with a private tutor, afraid that their freak of a daughter would bring shame upon the family name.
Ellie was forced inside, guards and cameras posted up to prevent her escape. For awhile this wasn't the worst thing. Ellie herself was quite ashamed and scared of the transition and for awhile was content to be sequestered away from everyone. This period of her life didn't last long, at the age of thirteen Ellie had mastered transitioning into her feline form and escaped the ever present watch.
And like most with an addiction and vast boredom she found herself stealing again. Wearing large hats to hide her ears, Ellie was able to blend into the crowd as any normal teenager would. Getting bolder and bolder until she found herself stealing the watch right off the wrist of an academy recruiter. For the second time in her life she was not so quick to get away. His skills prevented her escape and eventually the realization that she held her own talents.
The man extended an invite to Aurora Academy and her parents were all too willing to send their daughter. For the last three years Ellie has been at the academy, learning to hone her skills.
