Additions and Upgrades 06/2017
Adding new powers to your characters is fairly easy. But before you obtain a new ability, there are some simple steps that you must take. As long as you obey the rules, you are likely to get whatever power you ask for, the exception being Unique Abilities. Just make sure that whatever power you choose fits your character. Basically everything in this guide will refer to the leveling shop.
Purchases
Purchasing Leveling items uses your $$. You gather this by posting in the role play boards, winning otms and contests, participating in events, and admins may even throw you more based on how active each character is.
You MUST purchase you second level ability slot for your Natural Ability BEFORE you buy anything else. The only exception to this is if you start a character with two abilities.
You can bulk purchase items. This means that you are allowed to buy any items on the list all at once. However, you need to do them in order. Meaning that you can purchase your Natural Ability Level Two, and your Secondary Ability Slot at the same time. However, you cannot purchase your Third Ability Slot until you have your Natural Ability at Level Three, and your Secondary Ability at Level Two.
Your Secondary Ability is NOT allowed to be a higher level than your Natural Ability. As such, your Tertiary Ability may NOT be higher than your Secondary Ability. You MAY purchase a "Power Swap" in the Shop. This will Rearrange your Abilities to a way that you want them to be. However, the levels of Abilities, stay in their original places.
Example of Above Rule: Natural Ability: Telekinesis Level Three. Secondary Ability: Aquakinesis Level Two. Tertiary Ability: Night Vision Level One. After Swap: Natural Ability: Night Vision Level Three. Secondary Ability: Telekinesis Level Two. Tertiary Ability: Aquakinesis Level One.
Upgrade Natural Ability
Before you even consider picking a Secondary Power, you must have your Natural Ability at Level Two. This is rather inexpensive, so there's no reason it shouldn't be done first. Once you have purchased your Level Two Slot, you may need to change the description of your Natural Ability in your bio. An Admin will unlock your bio for you, or you may include what you wish to add when you purchase your Slot.
Example: Elemental power. Upon reaching Level Two, you can now manifest/create your element without help.
Additional Abilities
After you have upgraded your Natural Ability, you are able to purchase Additional Ability Slots. Now, to keep things as confusion free as I can, First Additional Ability Slot unlocks your Second Power. This power will start at Level One. This stands the same for any additional Ability Slot that you purchase.
Unique Ability Purchase
In order to purchase a Unique Ability Slot, you must first have ALL THREE of your previous abilities at Level Three or higher. You will NOT be allowed a purchase of a Unique Ability Slot if you already have a Unique Ability. Unique Abilities can only Level Up if they require it. Most Unique Abilities only have one Level. If it does have the ability to be upgraded, you may purchase Leveling slots for it. Unique Abilities may not be a higher level than your Natural or Secondary Abilities. It may however be higher than your Tertiary Ability.
