The still and calm water called out to the girl as she stared at it through the clear glass. People were bustling from one exhibit to the next around her but she didn't budge and her face sat inches away from the glass screen as if some unknown force was dragging her into it. Her ocean blue eyes dart back and forth closely watching one colorful only to quickly move to a new one as the old one moved away from her. If she really wanted to she could reached out her hand, break through the glass, and grab one of the fish but she had diverted the last of her willpower to suppress this desire. However, at the same time she could not move herself away from the fish tank as her legs stood planted into the ground refusing to move from her place. Looking in her eyes would reveal the inner conflict occurring inside the small girl as her primal instincts fought her rationality and logic. Her tongue would stick out running along the lips as she watched the fish gracefully swimming back and forth in the water. As if that wasn't enough to reveal girl’s pain the following growling from her stomach would make it quite clear.
This girl was Manami Shimizu and her reason for being inside this aquarium was due to her immense hunger that was slowly driving away reasoning. It wasn’t like this petite girl was underfed or not provided with the right nutrients, the current cause of her hunger was the use of her power earlier that day. Well to be accurate, it was her split Levi that had used up an immense amount of energy on the transformation. She had promised that while transformed she would gather enough food to sustain Manami after the transformation was undone but it seemed that today just seemed to be a bad hunting day in the waters off the coast of Canada. Levi had managed to consumed massive amounts of small fish but it still wasn’t enough to satisfy the energy consumption of the transformation. Manami had only just managed to stay conscious after Levi gave her control again and undid the transformation. Even now she was still pretty light headed and if one looked closely enough at her legs they would notice that they were slightly trembling under her own weight. In the next moment she would double over in pain as she held her gut and another roar echoed out from the abyss of her stomach.
”They won’t mind too much if I just take a few fish right….”
The words were barely audible as she mumbled the exact words that she was thinking. If worst came to worst she was truly considering punching a hole into the glass in order to get to the fish. She wasn’t even the violent or destructive personality but this hunger was going to push her over the edge and she silently cursed Levi off for causing it. She knew Levi could hear her thoughts as neither of them really had a choice when it came to each other, there was no mute button. However, Levi didn’t respond as shortly after realizing how much trouble she was going to be in with Manami later she had fled to the recesses of their brain. Levi might of been the more physically aggressive but when it came to verbal argument Manami had a huge advantage over her. As such the monster girl fled whenever Manami came to scold her since she had no way of beating her other half in an argument. So abandoned with her other persona silently hiding, she stumbled over to the glass this time placing her right hand on its surface slowly exerting pressure onto it. At the moment no real damage had been done but a few small cracks began to form on the glass around her hand. If left alone it was very likely that the small girl would lose her ability to resist her instincts that cried out for food and the glass would get shattered.

PEOPLE DON'T [smear:501BA5]LIKE[/smear:073466] [attr="class","heiress"]There were often few times or reasons that found Shiranai Huzaki doing most sorts of recreational activities, oftentimes because her idea of recreation was killing some family enemy or political leader without a second thought. As it stood she was surprised at her self for even being willing to come into this establishment, much less being capable of staying there without trying to injure something. Truth be told though, she was grateful for this change in pace and change of heart. She'd had enough blood spilled on her blades today.
Too bad there wasn't any time to enjoy the view.
She checked her watch for the time, surveying the crowds with calculated precision as she walked. She needed somewhere to blend in. A lone assassin in a crowd was dangerous, but one who was merely standing to the side could potentially be deadlier. People expected to be stabbed by those passing by them, they didn't expect it when it was someone randomly paying attention to something else.
Shira's gaze caught sight of a girl near one of the tanks. There wasn't much better options, so she found herself soon standing besides the individual. Shira's white suit and black tie were almost standard now, though she did hate how hard blood was to wash out of them. She just figured she'd have to be a little more careful with her positioning today. She glanced over at the girl as she stood next to her, the assassin meanwhile pretending to be merely watching the fish inside with a sort of mock curiosity and boredom.
It was plainly obvious that the girl was hungry, though for reasons that Shira couldn't bring herself to fathom and for things that Shiranai was equally unwilling to think about. After a few moments she caught the girl's voice besides her, amid the din of the crowd milling slowly about behind them.
"Unfortunately they'd mind enough to kick you out," Shiranai respondexd with a small laugh, her voice carrying a bit of a calculated tone that she'd ended up picking up over her few years as the clan Matriarch. The fact that this girl was hungry enough to be contemplating that was something that caused Shira to remember one of the appearances she had to keep up for the company itself, if not the family. She had to care for the plight of those less fortunate then her, however much she found herself unable to do so.
Not that it was a particularly hard thing to do, of course. They had a tendency to make it rather easy.

Manami looked up at the older girl that had suddenly appeared next to her and took a quick scan of her body with her eyes. The girl’s suit and tie made Manami slightly nervous that she might be standing next to the aquarium’s owner or some other high up staff member that she could get in a lot of trouble with just for the few cracks in the glass she had already made. For a few moments she truly regretted muttering her true thoughts in a way that could be heard by others. Despite this she turned her head towards her new company causing her long silver hair to flutter about as it was moved by the sudden movement of her head and she looked the formally dressed girl in the eyes. She was about to open her mouth and respond when her stomach let out yet another growl that had been considerably louder than all the previous and Manami’s thought process was cut off by the sudden feeling of embarrassment that spread throughout her body. The growl had given her a moment to think about what she had said and she turned red faced as she realized how stupid she must of sounded when she had spoken and because she had let her stomach growl so loudly when someone was nearby. Her eyes had broken contact with the girl in front of her and she was no looking directly down at the floor trying to hide her embarrassment.
”Damn you Levi, always putting me in the worst situations...”
She once again let her thoughts slip out as she mumbled a curse at her other persona. She thoughts were to scattered to come up with a proper response to the girl’s comment despite her best efforts and for a few moments she would just stand in place with her head down trying to think of what to say. Yet as she tried to think of a response her arm was still firmly planted on the wall of the tank exerting pressure onto the glass causing the cracks that had formed before to beginning spreading and growing larger with each passing second. While she was no longer thinking about food her body was still desperately seeking it. The expression so hungry you could eat a horse was meant quite literally for her right now, she could possibly even eat a shark or a whale in her current condition. The fish in the tank weren’t going to get anywhere near satisfying her hunger but anything would help her right now. Her primal instincts at this point had basically almost completely overpowered the petite girl’s willpower and it would have too if it wasn't for what happened next. A sudden pain in her gut caused her to quickly pull her hand away from the glass and wrap her arms around her stomach. Her previously trembling legs gave out beneath her and she fell onto her knees. Her eyes quickly shot back up to look her company in the eyes with a pitiful look like that of a puppy that had been left out in the rain. Her ocean blue eyes were watering as they looked up at the older girl in desperation.
”But….. But… But….. I’m so hungry!”

PEOPLE DON'T [smear:501BA5]LIKE[/smear:073466] [attr="class","heiress"]Shira found herself transfixing on the cracks slowly growing in the glass, observing the immense force that was no doubt required to do such a thing. This girl was no doubt one from the Academy, which made things decidedly easier on Shira in terms of figuring this girl out. If she was hungry, then it was no doubt due to some sort of exertion of her powers. Shira checked her watch once more, utilizing her secondary power to feel out for her target among the crowd before she refocused on the girl, who promptly collapsed to her knees and muttered pitifully about how hungry she was.
Which only did further to reinforce Shira's reasoning.
Any further thoughts on the girl, however, where quickly distracted by a frantic tremble she sensed among the crowd, her own spiritual energy picking up on the fears of her target, and she couldn't help but allow her lips to curl into a cruel smirk as she pat the girl on the head calmly. "It just so happens my schedule is about to be freed up. Just give me a moment and I'll help you get something to eat," she said calmly with a fairly kind expression that darkened quickly as she lifted the watch to her mouth.
"Shoto suru," she said firmly, and in an instant the aquarium went black. Sounds of panicked, confused screams flew high into the air, but Shira no longer needed her sight. Her soul had given her the position of her target among the crowd and had tagged him, so-to-speak, causing him to glow softly in her vision alone. She wove deftly through the crowd, not so much as touching a single individual as she crossed the thirty foot gap to her target.
He hadn't even time to scream before the kunai tore into his throat. Shira deftly grabbed him before he fell. She didn't need to make unnecessary noises. The room was panicked enough without someone falling, and so she gently lowered him, shouting something about him fainting as she pulled the knife out. Another clean kill. The cut had been such that it severed his spinal cord without slashing the coronary artery. A certain kill, and as little blood as possible. She twisted the top on a ring she wore on the middle finger of her right hand, pressing it quickly against the man's skull so as to keep the dim red light from revealing her presence. Amidst the scents in the aquarium the scent of slightly charred flesh mingled easily into the crowd, and Shira quickly drew away and replaced the cap on the ring before making her way to the girl and leaning in to whisper into her ear.
"Come with me," she said, gently grabbing the girl's wrist and leading her out of the aquarium. Once out in broad daylight, she released the girl and beckoned her over to where Shira's own car sat waiting in the parking lot, a cloaked figure standing watch only nodding once at the assassin before making his way past them. Should the girl have looked back, she would've found that the man had simply vanished.
"So, where would you like to go?" Shiranai said cheerily as she led the way to her car. It was a fairly expensive-looking beast, and came in a fairly simple matte black with a strange emblem emblazoned on the door handles. Shira leaned against the hood of the car as she awaited a response to her offer, silently counting down the seconds before she'd need to give the final command.

Manami looked at the girl as the smirk spread across her face and a horrifying similarity sent a shiver down her spine. She could sense that the smirk on the girl's face now was not a friendly one but one secretly hiding an immense amount of malicious intent. If it wasn't for the fact that her other persona Levi had made the same expression thousands of times before in the midst of fights she probably would've noticed but Levi was a part of her and as such her heartbeat began to increase in fearful anticipation. Yet at the same time she couldn't stop herself from seeing the girl in front of her as an angel who was about to grace her with the wonders of a meal. This conflict in feelings only grew worse as she watched the her kind expression darken and she was once again reminded of Levi. However, the promise of food kept her from getting away from the girl who seemed to be a living contradiction.
”Thank you”
Manami's voice was soft as she thanked the girl for promising her food as she still felt pathetic for having to beg someone else to buy her subsidence. What happened next completely caught Manami off guard as the girl spoke into her watch and all the aquarium lights went out. She was suddenly thrown into a world of darkness filled with the sounds of people's panicked screams. Unable to see she remembered something she had learned back in junior high, relying on your other senses. Her eyes were no longer of any use to her so she shut them and began focusing on her hearing. It was incredible hard to pick out any noises in the noise of people's yelling but for a moment she thought she heard the girl that had been on front of her move away only to hear the girl's voice next to her ear a moment later. Had she just been hallucinating when she had thought the girl left? There was no way for her to prove it but as the girl grabbed her wrist and began to guide her out of the museum Manami could swear she smelled burning flesh. She felt a stir inside of her as her other persona instinctively reacted to the smell before falling back into a slumber again. Her day at the aquarium had turned into a weird incident and a small part of her was almost certain that the person guiding her now was the one responsible.
Manami blinked her eyes trying to adjust them to the sudden change in light as they got outside. She had only just adjusted her eyes in time to see the man that the girl nodded to outside but didn't look back to see him vanish as her eyes were completely transfix on the car in front of her. It was obviously extremely expensive and Manami's mouth almost dropped opening looking at it. Had she accidentally run into a millionaire? She was getting a closer look at the emblem on the car when the girl asked her the question about where she would like to go and in her trance it took her a few moment before she responded.
”Anywhere with food, as long as you don't mind. I don't want to burden you or anything”
Despite the fact that she was really hungry the sudden situation in the aquarium had snapped her back into focus for a little bit and she still felt pathetic for having to beg for food. She didn't want to burden anyone with a situation she had put herself in, especially since the kind girl in front of her had no idea what she was getting into offering Manami food. Without restraint she could burn through the averages person wallet in a single lunch leaving them with little to no cash for the rest of the day. She didn't want put anyone in such a situation and as such couldn't even make eye contact with Shira as she spoke and instead looked down at the ground while fidgeting with her hands to relieve stress.

PEOPLE DON'T [smear:501BA5]LIKE[/smear:073466] [attr="class","heiress"]Shiranai nodded, her silent, secondary question having been answered as she lifted herself up off the hood of the car and stepping around to open the door and sit down in the driver's seat, motioning for the girl to do the same. As Shiranai turned the key in the ignition, the engine came to life with a thunderous roar, the assassin lifting her watch once more to her mouth to utter her final command to those accomplices of hers still inside the aquarium.
"Hikari."
As they drove off the lot, the lights in the aquarium suddenly flickered back to life. Moments later, the screams of a woman nearby Shira's most recent target caught the attention of the police faculty there. By the time the news crews got onto the scene, Shira was long gone, she and her newfound company scouting out potential places to eat. They talked idly in the car, little bits here and there, things that weren't necessarily personal and safe enough topics that it wouldn't reveal too terribly much about one person or another. Shiranai had gotten the girl's name first: Shimizu Manami, before she had introduced herself rather formally. The Huzaki name was one-of-a-kind, and with Huzaki Arms being a rather well-known corporation, it would serve to explain to the girl as to how her new ally had a vehicle of such grandeur.
Shiranai had told the girl that she herself had attended the Academy, though hadn't cared to let on more than that as a sort of observation that she had noticed the girl's powers, and as they pulled into a destination of Shira's choice- an all-you-can-eat buffet downtown that the Huzaki family had helped operate for years- she politely told the girl that money wasn't something to be worrying about at this time.
"Leave me to worry about the expenses," she said as she killed the engine, "You're no doubt rather hungry and I'd hate for you to leave on anything less than a full stomach." She did, of course, have an idea of what she was getting into. She came from a family full of individuals who had- for decades now- possessed supernatural capabilities of all kinds. She'd seen some strange things and some some stranger ones, so she sincerely doubted she'd be unprepared for whatever events awaited her.
Though there was something about how the girl held herself that gave Shira pause. A faint itch of familiarity in the back of her mind that she couldn't quite place. Manami obediently followed the girl into the car, despite the fact that most logical reasoning would tell one not to get in a car with a stranger. She had only just met the girl and had been given plenty of evidence to be suspicious of her. Yet she felt a strange sense of trust to this person she had only just met and as the old saying goes “don't bite the hand that feeds you”. The inside of the car was luxurious and Manami found herself admiring the entirety of it until the roaring of the engine snapped her back to reality. She saw once again the girl raise the watch to her mouth and speak into it the watch again. Hikari, she knew the words as it came from her own native language. It meant light and a moment later Manami would figure out the true meaning of what the girl meant as she saw the aquarium lights turn back on just as they left. The person she was with was definitely not someone to be messed with, good thing she wasn't on her companion’s bad side.
As the drove Manami had learned the older girl’s name and once she did it was very obvious how she could afford such a nice car. The Huzaki name was very well known throughout the world so it would’ve been odd if she hadn't recognize the name. However, she felt a powerful stir in her subconscious as a certain persona of hers snapped awake at the mentioning of the Huzaki name. Suddenly Manami got a glimpse of the memories that had been hidden from her by Levi. A glimpse of the darkest time of her life, the time in which she sailed the seas aiding outlaws in commandeering ships and robbing supply ships. She didn't get a glance at any faces or real events but instead she saw the names of ships they attacked and some of the products they stole. It soon became very obvious what her Levi was trying to show her. Pirates needed guns to intimidate their victims, the Huzaki Gun Company created guns, so it only seem logical for the pirates to attack a ship owned by such a company. As such Manami was currently stuck in a moving with a member of a company her past self had stolen a good amount of guns from. She wanted to apologies as the guilt began to eat away at her and yet she had an instinctual fear of the girl as if admitting to her guilt meant a swift death. So her mouth stayed shut and she wouldn't dare mention the memories she had just seen.
For a good part of the car ride her muscles were tensed and she felt as if she was trapped in the vehicle with some kind of wild animal that could turn on her at any second. Her behavior was definitely odd for someone being brought at for lunch but her persona Levi was pulling the strings in the backward trying to make sure Manami was as safe as possible. It took a while for Manami to relax as the combination of guilt and potential danger swirled around inside her. The fact that Shiranai was a alumni of the Academy only added fuel to the fire as Manami now knew her company had powers like she did. Eventually, however, she managed to calm her nerves just as they arrived at the buffet place. She seemed kind enough, she didn't push for any serious information and was going to buy food for the poor hungry girl. So the petite girl figure it would be fine as long as she didn't accidently give away any information about her past. As she calmed down her ability to smile sincerely returned to her and her eyes lit up upon looking at the food at the buffet table. She could feel herself beginning to salivate as her eyes took in every aspect of the food inside the restaurant. As Shiranai told her that she would cover all the expenses and that she could fill her stomach, Manami couldn’t stop herself from wrapping her arms around the girl and giving her a giant hug. Her former fears had all but and she couldn't feel enough gratitude towards assassin.
”Thank you!”
Shortly after embracing her Manami would speed walk into the restaurant and was on the verge of running as she moved towards the buffet table. What happened next would look like some kind of circus performance as she grabbed four plates. On one plate she filled the entire plate with vegetable, the next one she stacked multiple pieces of steak until the plate was filled, the third she covered in chicken, and the fourth plate was cloaked in a variety of other meats. It was quite obvious she had quite the carnivorous appetite. While she definitely didn't have the strength to carry all this, her hands weren't large enough to hold all four plates. As such she ended up holding one plate with each of her hands, balancing the third plate on her head, and holding the last plate with her teeth. It could be called a miracle that she had made it to a nearby table for two without dropping any of her food. Placing her plates on top the table she ignore all the odd looks other customers were giving her and managed to control herself enough to wait for Shiranai to take a seat before eating.
”Thank you so much onee-san””
Manami didn't even realize that she had accidently referred to the girl as older sister. Manami didn't even have an older sister as far as she knew or even a younger sister for that matter. Yet this phrase slipped out of her mouth as she thanked the girl who had taken care of her. Completely unaware of what she had just said she began devouring her food. She tore the meat of the bone of the chicken and as she ate she felt more energized. Her teeth underwent a transformation and turned sharp in order to make the consumption of the meat faster. The partial transformation did expend some energy but since it was only the teeth it was a minor amount and it was quickly made up for by the intake of food. While she didn't completely abandon the civilized way of eating she would still appear slightly animalistic as fed.
