A great shadow was cast over the waters as the sun retreated under the horizon, giving the impression that an entity of immense stature had decided to take up residency along the coast. However, this couldn't have been further from the truth as the source of the shadow wasn't a giant but a small girl balancing on the rails at the top of the nearby lighthouse. She swayed slightly in the breeze causing it to seems at times as if she was going to loses her balance and plummet into the rocks below. Yet she showed no sign of fear and even seemed relatively calm as instead of fearing the ground below she was admiring the almost surreal beauty of the waters in front of her as twilight set in and the last of the sun’s light peeked over the horizon and reflected off the water. To make the scene even stranger she was wearing a pair of bright red pajamas, a blue naval cap decorated with the image of a white anchor on the front, a white naval jacket that was slightly too big for her, and nothing on her feet which clung on to the rail by her toes.
This girl was Shimizu Manami and this kind of behavior wasn't uncommon for her. It was hard for her to see such reckless behavior as dangerous when her skin could become the equivalent of a suit of armor in a matter of seconds. Her superhuman strength also added quite a bit to her confidence in the current situation and if one look close enough they could see that small impressions of Manami’s toes had been pressed into the rail by her strength. As last of the light vanished under the horizon the bulb at the center of the lighthouse lit up making the girls surrounding visible to her again and then as if on cue the silver haired girl began to hum the tune of a lullaby her mother used to sing her before she went to bed.
As the song went on she began to move on beat with the tune, spinning and dancing across the bars swaying as she went as if a trapeze artist trying some elaborate trick. However, Manami was not a trapeze artist and a moment later she would realize the consequences of her careless actions. It was one miss step that send her flying off the rails, luckily towards the inside of the building and not the ground. Clumsily face planting into the floor, she didn't even have enough time to activate her power and as such had earned herself a small scratch at the top of her forehead just above her right eyebrow that a small trickle of blood flowed out of. She could hear a small irritated voice berating her from the recesses of her mind and it didn't seem like it was going to forgive her stupidity any time soon.
Yet this voice was blocked out by her own panic as she turned around and noticed that during her fall she had kicked out a section of the rail she had been standing on sending it falling over the side. She was up on her feet in a moment looking over the side praying that there hasn't been anyone in the ground the rail could of hit. Sadly, her sight couldn't pierce through the darkness of the night and she was unable to see the ground. In the next moment she was at the stairs of the lighthouse sprinting down them to check the scene on the ground. “Please just let everything be alright”. @callumblaine

As the sun sank lower beneath the horizon, a note of urgency crept across his skin, like fate was breathing a bad warning down the back of his neck. Callum picked up the pace, clambering over the steep rocky trail that thankfully led him further away from the crashing waves. In all his life the man had never had a fond experience with water. Current or not, it seemed all bodies of water insisted on dragging him into the deep.
The force of the waves below crashed against the rocks with enough force he had little doubt they could break a man. Turning up his collar, Callum continued to make his way over the slabs, heading for the lighthouse which had been his destination all along.
Starting from the opposite end of the beach, Callum had spent most of his afternoon meandering along the stony shores. He'd paused briefly to search for treasures, but the high tide had left very little aside from the scraps of seeweed and junk littered across the beach. He'd been hoping for something a little more....majestic, like a shell or even a pretty rock to entertain Muirne his cat, who also just so happened to be a little girl.
Pulling his toque lower over his ears, Callum hugged he face of the rock to avoid the ocean spray. Even as he meandered away from the water, the roaring of the waves echoed loudly in his ears, almost to the point where he didn't hear the clink and the soft whistling sound that followed. What was a metal bar plummeting towards the unsuspecting teen would have gone unnoticed if he hadn't caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of his gaze.
Leaping back, Callum barely avoided the scrap metal that stabbed the ground where he'd been standing only a second later. Unfortunately he missed judged the distance, gritting his teeth as the tail-end of the metal cut into his lower knee. The damage was minimal considering the whole thing could have landed on his head, but Callum cursed his clumsiness as he noticed a dark stain spreading beneath his jeans.
Carefully testing his weight, the man limped back a step or two, fixing the sky with a hard stare, his penance stare blazing to life. Where did the metal even come from, and how could it have come loose so easily?
The rush of approaching feet was just audible over the waves, and Callum scowled turning to meet his 'attacker' with a golden eye likely to stop anyone in their tracks. The penance stare was less than merciful to it's victims, and until he was sure his life wasn't in danger, Callum had no intentions of being merciful.
Yeah this might be quite the 'incident' indeed xD — @manami [newclass=".sf_body"]background-image:url('http://www.designbolts.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Golf-Shirt-Grey-Seamless-Pattern-For-Website-Background.jpg');width:400px;padding:20px;border-top:20px solid #404040;border-bottom:20px solid #404040;[/newclass] [newclass=".sf_text"]padding-right:5px;max-height:300px;overflow:auto;[/newclass] [newclass=".sf_text" b]color:#4f7aac;[/newclass]

The sound of the waves outside grew louder the closer Manami got to the ground floor of the lighthouse. Her heart was beating a thousand miles an hour and her mind was imagining scenarios just as quickly. She was panicked, there was no if, ands, or buts about it. Sweat poured from the top of her forehead traveling over her cut in the way down, resulting in a stinging sensation as the sweat came in contact with the wound. In the worst case scenario you could have killed someone, the shard of metal definitely had enough time to reach lethal velocity on its way down from the lighthouse and it didn't help that the shard had been sharp. Even if it didn't kill anyone it could if caused severe harm. Manami just had to pray that she had been alone at the lighthouse tonight.
It didn't help her nerves that the voice currently residing in her subconscious was still scolding her. You know, if someone really did get hurt by that metal it really will all be your fault. I warned you that dancing on the lighthouse rails would be dangerous but you just had to have your fun didn’t you. The voice went silent for a while as it waited for Manami to finish chewing on its words. It was trying to make her angry and she knew it, but it’s hard to act as if you don't care when the person baiting you shares the same mind as you. Don’t get me wrong, I find it funny as hell that a goody two shoes like yourself could have maimed someone. However, you could’ve fallen out of the lighthouse just as easily and I wouldn't be able to save you. So stop being such an idiot, and if you want to hurt someone do it directly. I’ll gladly give you the power to do so. Manami’s anger started to boil over, the voice was acting as if she had intended to hurt someone. She just wanted to have a little fun, she didn't plan for any of this and the voice knew that yet was pretending as if it didn't.
Just as she reached the door she shouted “SHUT UP!”, the words were directed at the voice but at this point even Manami didn't know if had said the words allowed or if she had just screamed internally. Either way the voice has gone silent and Manami took a deep breath before quickly throwing open the door to the lighthouse. “Is everyone…” her sentence was cut off just as it began as she found herself unable to move her lips. However, it wasn't just her mouth that had gone immobile but her entire body as if she had been wrapped up in chains. She couldn't move at all despite her best efforts. The source of this sudden paralyze soon became very clear, as her eyes made contact with a pair of piercing yellow eyes in front of her. Fear quickly washed over her, as she came to comprehend her situation. She couldn't move and as such was completely defenseless.
A drowsiness fell over her as she felt another entity begin to pull at the reins of her body. No, not yet. I don’t need you! Stay asleep! She desperately fought to keep control and only managed to do so when she saw the cut across the man’s knee and the metal stabbed into the ground. The man wasn't trying to hurt her, he was just trying to defend himself from what he perceived as a threat. Reluctantly, the other entity gave up on trying to take the reins and Manami was in full control again. Now she just had to hope that the man would see that she meant no harm.

[attr="class","sf_body"] [attr="class","sf_text"]At first, it would seem like there were two people in the light house above. One voice that appeared angry, and another, softer voice that asked if he was okay. Callum's mind was whirling, trying to unravel everything that had just happened. Were there two girls fighting up there? Had one of them knocked over the railing, and the other rushed down to see if he was okay?
Callum was a little hesitant to respond as he spotted the small girl standing across from him. She looked young, like a little kid - though Callum had learned too well recently that young kids could still be used as dangerous weapons. Offering a slow blink that would break the trance of his stare, Callum raised his hands, palms facing the girl to show he meant her no harm.
"Are you okay?" His chest rumbled as he spoke, though he could still feel his heart hammering wildly in his chest. Once his adrenaline started going, Callum found it took him a while to calm down. Every movement and every unexpected occurrence were perceived as a threat, and the man was too willing to use his penance stare to nullify anything that intimidated him. But a little girl?
Against his better judgment, Callum let his penance stare fade, until he was staring at the stranger almost curiously. He didn't answer her question. Given the strange circumstance, Callum was more interested in discovering who she was first.
Taking a slow step back, he bit his lip trying not to limp. Showing any indication he was hurt could be a grave mistake if this girl was a threat, but Callum forced his voice to sound gentle as he spoke. "I don't mean to be rude, but, who exactly are you?"

Manami was only paralyzed for a few moments before she felt whatever power the man used release her. Her body was once again under her control so she had to assume that her early guess was accurate and the person in front of her had only used their power out of fear. A moment later she was caught off guard as the man ask her if she was okay. How could he be asking her if she was okay, when he was clearly hurt significantly more than she was? Of all the people she had to injury it just had to be someone kind and selfless, Manami silently cursed at the world for her luck as she felt guilt spreading throughout her entire body. Almost instinctually she covered up her head wound underneath a strip of her hair before responding to his question.
"I'm completely fine, don't worry about me. I think the more pressing matter here is your condition not mine."
Despite his injuries the man slowly stepped backwards and Manami could see a look of curiosity on his face. His actions were confusing her, it was as if he was completely unaware of the cut across his leg, which was hard to miss since the blood was staining his jeans. Had the rail hit his head before it cut his leg, moments before this she had been relieved seeing that the damage was minimal but what if it wasn't as it seemed. Was he just trying to act tough to hide his pain, had the nerves in his leg been cut? Once again, hundreds of worse case scenarios began running through Manami's head and she came to a final conclusion; the man in front of her needed medical attention quickly and she needed to get him to it. She slowly began to approach her showing her opens palms to him to show she meant now harm, just as he had done a few moments before.
"My name is Shimizu Manami, it's a pleasure to meet you. Would you mind telling me your name?"
Manami had gotten with arms reach now and was taking a closer look at the wound. It didn't seem like a serious wound and wasn't to deep either, so it was unlikely that any of his nerves had been cut. However, it was still possible that the pipe had hit his head on the way down resulting in his lack of awareness that was stopping him from recognizing his own injuries. I'm so sorry, I didn't know that the pipe was going to come loose and fall off. This is all my fault. I hope there is eventually something I can do to make this up to you but for now we need to get you checked out." Just as Manami finished that sentence she quickly wrapped one of her arm around Callum's back and the other around his legs. In one quick motion she used her strength to take his legs out from under him, while holding lower knee in place to prevent any further injury to it. While his body was rotated into the air she brought up her arms to support his back and legs. Manami had knocked Callum off his balance and lifted him into the air in one quick motion leaving him very little time to resist or even react to her actions. By the end of it Manami was princess carrying Callum and showed no signs of strain almost as if she was carrying a feather.
"Which way do you think would be the fastest route to a doctor?"
Manami was incredibly embarrassed to be princess carrying this man she had just met but his safety had to come first. She was blushing but she made sure to look away from Callum's face to hide this fact. She just hoped that she could get them to a medical professional soon and resolve the situation that she had created with her recklessness.

[attr="class","sf_body"] [attr="class","sf_text"]Unaware? Unaware of his injuries? Oh, no. Callum was completely aware of the searing pain that was currently gnawing on his leg. It felt like Zeus stabbed him with a lightning bolt or some overzealous doctor had just plunged a seven-inch needle into his bone. Callum was not unaware of his injury, however, the man was trying to ignore the feel as best he could to efficiently deal with the situation at hand.
When the strange girl took a step closer, Callum's eyes flared a dangerous color. His fingers slowly curled inwards, the way one might do while preparing to execute a blow. Her question hung unanswered, as the man's deep voice rumbled yet again. "Shimizu Manami, Don't you know what happens to people who get too close to wild animals?" It was a kind warning, something that might alert her to the fact that Callum would not hesitate to break her neck should she choose to harm him.
Her sudden movement startled the man, who in turn had his hand wrapped around her tiny neck in seconds. There was no pressure, but his fingers hovered tentatively above her vital points as he felt the ground vanish beneath him.
Manami was lucky to have turned away because Callum's eyes were now smoldering dangerously. "Put me down." The man said tightly. He had enough composure not to flail and kick, though mostly for fear she would drop him on the sharp rocks.
How was this little twig of a girl carrying him with ease? Callum didn't relinquish his grip on her neck, but he wasn't squeezing either. "I don't need your help." A cut leg was nothing Callum couldn't deal with himself, at least the man believed he could walk to the nearest clinic. He definitely was not going to be brought to a medical station by this little twerp.
Now he has to go and be all dramatic — Shimizu Manami[newclass=".sf_body"]background-image:url('http://www.designbolts.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Golf-Shirt-Grey-Seamless-Pattern-For-Website-Background.jpg');width:400px;padding:20px;border-top:20px solid #404040;border-bottom:20px solid #404040;[/newclass] [newclass=".sf_text"]padding-right:5px;max-height:300px;overflow:auto;[/newclass] [newclass=".sf_text" b]color:#4f7aac;[/newclass]

The instant the man's hand grabbed at Manami's neck he had unknowingly crossed a line that should never be crossed by those who value their lives. The man would get no reply from the girl as he demanded to be let down, only an eerie silence. If one was paying close enough attention, however, they would notice that quite a lot of activity was occurring doing this brief silence. Underneath the man's fingers the girl's skin was changing rapidly from fragile human skin to armor like scales, this transformation would spread like a rash from under his hand and would soon encompass her entire neck. Her eyes turn a glowing shade of yellow and her teeth became as sharp as knives. Sadly, with her face turned away from him Callum would only be able to notice the skin changing. Despite all these physical changes the most significant changes was occurring mentally, the moment his hand had wrapped around her neck a dangerous switch had been hit. Manami was pulled into the depths of her mind and a malicious entity took her place at the reins.
"You don't need my help? You want to be put down? Hahahahaha"
The voice that emerged from her mouth was completely different from before, it didn't carry any feeling of kindness and concern that Manami had shown previously. It actually had a mocking and cruel tone to it as if it viewed Callum as an insect that was trying to pick a fight with a giant. Her laughter was even worse, it didn't carry the happy vibe usually associated with laughter but instead created a feeling of uneasiness and tension.
"It seems we agree on something, I would just love to put you down as well. It would make my day if I could just drop you off a cliff or into the raging sea behind us but Manami seems to think that your injury makes her responsible for you. As such she would be very upset with me if I caused you any significant harm. However, it would be in your best interest if you took your hand away from my neck unless you fancy losing it."
As she said these words her head would turn and she would look Callum directly in the eyes. At this point all her skin had completely transformed into dark blues scales and two small horns had sprouted out of her head. Her glowing, yellow, snake like eyes focused in on his face and she was grinning with a mouth full of razor sharp teeth. She looks liked a demon out of some horror movie and her tone and threats only increased this similarity. There was no mercy in her eyes or any compassion she looked at Callum as if she was a predator and he was her weakened prey.
"Hmm, I guess it turns out that it was you who doesn't understand what happens when you get too close to a wild animal. You made one grave mistake and that was threatening Manami because now she isn't here. You're stuck with me now and I don't have the same restricting set of morals. As I see it you have a few different choices here; one you could be obedient and allow yourself to be carried to the hospital, two you resist, and three you try to prove to me that your as tough enough there on your own. If you go with option one I can let Manami back out and you can peacefully be brought to doctor of some sort. If you go with two then I will remain in control and will get you there by any means necessary, interesting fact if you cause someone enough pain they can lose consciousness" As she stated the last part she would apply pressure to his wound resulting in an increase in pain but no serious damage. "Finally, if you want to go with three you will have to try to ride the king of the ocean for five minutes without falling off or dying in the process. Also don't try to pull anything with that ability of yours from earlier, you're in my arms and I will get you before your able to get me."
The girl turned her body so that they were facing towards the ocean and increased her grip on Callum as she finished her last threat. Now she just had to wait for his response to her sudden change in demeanor.

[attr="class","sf_body"] [attr="class","sf_text"]Wide eyed, Callum stared at the scales. The rough, metal plates seemed to spring out from beneath his hands, though the man had little doubt this transformation had nothing to do with his own abilities. Astounded, he watched the transformation take place, loosening his grip until his hand hovered uncertainly above his chest. There was no chance of his fingers piercing through the chainmail-like armor, so he withdrew albeit reluctantly.
With his feet scraping the ground, Callum would have attempted to stand up if it weren't for the gritty voice that spoke next. It was a sharp contrast from the soft, timid voice he had spoken to earlier, and Callum began to wonder just what kind of monster he was dealing with. The man absorbed all that was said, trying to sort things out in a timely fashion.
The creature speaking was no Manami. But Manami was still there. He contemplated talking his way out of her arms, but the situation had escalated far too quickly for his liking and Callum found his tolerance of the Leviathan quickly slipping.
"Interesting fact indeed." His voice rumbled. But Callum wasn't one to be told what to do, especially not by little girls, and as he spoke, two things would happen. The first was his penance stare, the ability that had stopped Manami in her tracks leaped to life once again as the horned creature met his gaze. Callum made no attempt to hurt her, but imobility was almost inescapable.
The second event was the fading of his iris in his right eye as his second ability came into play: Power absorption. Whatever dark magic or shape-shifting trick this was, Callum fully intended to absorb it into himself, even if only temporarily. He wasn't sure what would happen, but the second the horned devil met his cursed stare, their fate was decided then and there.

Despite her earlier threats that she would render him unconscious if he tried to use his ability she found me herself trapped in his paralyzingly gaze once again. Her body froze up just as it had before and there was nothing she could do to escape. Like an animal trapped in a cage she tried to resist and break the paralysis but what could she do when her own body was refusing to obey her. While she couldn't do anything to harm Callum he would be able to see the murderous intent in her eyes and it would be hard to miss when she was looking directly into his eyes. At the same time she felt a strange sensation as if something was being drawn out of her, she didn't know what was happening but she had to assume that the man was using another one of his abilities.
If it wasn’t for the fact that she couldn't move her mouth, Leviathan would be speaking in a way that would make even the rudest sailor look polite. She was cursing her own stupidity and her rage was only fueled by the fact that she had let Callum take control of the situation. The situation had escalated rapidly, the man didn't know it but the Leviathan before was just playing around like a cat would with a mouse but now she was enraged. She didn't like being denied, she despised failure, and she hated being restrained. In response to this rapidly growing rage the muscles in her legs broke the paralysis for just a moment and flexed pushing the pavement beneath her with incredible force causing it to shatter. However, despite its power it accomplished nothing. It was the equivalent to someone someone punching a wall when angry and there was no way she could muster enough energy to temporarily break the paralysis again.
She was going to kill Callum and this was the one thought that consumed her entire consciousness and echoed in her mind like a broken record. She was going to make him suffer for grabbing at Manami’s throat and paralysing her with his vile ability. At least she was until she felt something stir in the back of her mind, Are you kidding me?! Did you not feel him grab at your throat or hear him threaten you?!.Leviathan was internally screaming at the source of the stir, which was the slumbering Manami personality. Fine, I won’t kill him but your a fool for showing him mercy. If you want control again, however, you're going to have to let me get back at him. I’m not you and I refuse to forgive him so easily.

[attr="class","sf_body"] [attr="class","sf_text"]The would crack and Callum would find himself tempted to look away. He knew he could not, though. The man couldn't even blink or he would lose control of the very delicate situation. His penance stare was quite possibly the only thing keeping him alive. Before him the creature gazed onwards with an undisguised hatred pure enough to cause the older man to shiver.
Seizing the moment of opportunity, Callum wriggled out of her frozen grip, never breaking eye contact as he began to back away. The man had no intentions of running, however. Even he knew not to turn his back against a monster. Instead, the man reached to his back pocket, finding small comfort in the switch blade he carried.
The weapon was small, but sharp enough to defend himself on most occasions. Though eying the scaley beast before him, Callum wasn't quite sure a knife would save him. Through his red eye, he saw two shadow hovering over the girl. One seemed almost transparent, a dark scaley outline that would appear one moment and seem gone the rest. The other looked real, as though a hulk of a man were towering behind the girl. These were her abilities, and as dangerous as that hulking shadow appeared, it wasn't the ability Callum intended to absorb.
If he could remove her scales, the outer layer of protection, he could bring her down. Latching onto the scaley ability, and still not entirely sure what it was, Callum absorbed the power, feeling his eyes burn with the effort. The salty spray in the air did little to aid him in his quest, and with the ability absorbed, Callum had to blink, giving the girl a split second of freedom should she look away.
Taking a step back, he curled his fingers around the blade in hand, eying the little girl dangerously. She now stood between him and the water, not a very desirable position in case he decided to push her off the cliff. "Now when you threaten a wild animal, he won't just bite you." The man spoke in a dangerously low voice, "He will come at you with everything he's got." And by everything, Callum meant 'everything'.
Even as he spoke the man's voice faded into an almost gutteral growl. The same plated armor that had once covered her skin was beginning to make a shy appearance on his own, beginning on his arms and trailing towards his fingers like metal gauntlets. Absorbing another ability was always an odd experience for Callum, and he flexed his claws, listening to the metal clink.
"But we're not animals, Shimizu Manami." Callum lowered the blade, though it was still ready to gut her if she came too close. "Leave me be and we can gladly go our separate ways. I have no personal quarrel with you or your...friend. And I hate conflict," he added in an almost bored tone. "It makes me late for dinner."

Leviathan watched as the man left her arms and moved away. This damn ability of his was stopping her from doing anything and her anger was only growing more immense. She wanted to crush him and make him regret ever opposing her, even if it requires causing him an extreme amount of harm. It didn't matter to her that she was most likely the one in the wrong, the moment that he grabbed at Manami's neck was the moment he was added to her kill list. If she had one positive trait about her it was her care for Manami even if she never showed it to anyone else. To paralyze Manami and to grab at her throat was an offense she wasn't willing to forgive unless the guilty party paid the heavy price for it. Callum might of been in the right since all his actions were taken in self defense and he never actually harmed Manami but there wasn't going to be any reasoning with Leviathan. However, she had made a deal with her other personality that she wouldn't kill him and it was a promise she was planning to keep.
Before the paralysis spell broke, however, she felt an empty sensation as her power was pulled out of her. Looking at her body she noticed that her horns retreated, her teeth returned to normal, and her scales turned back into skin. Even the glowing yellow of her eyes vanished and once again her eyes were as blue as the sky on a clear day. She didn't know exactly how he did it but he had taken away her power to shift away and she had a whole new reason to hate the man. The moment he blinked she looked down and refused to make eye contact with him again.
"You took it from me....."
Her faced was frozen with astonishment and disbelief, he had taken away one of her powers. Not only that but it was the power that had given this personality her name and the loss of it almost felt like he had stolen a central component to her identity. The monster was dumbfounded and for the first time felt weak and unsure of whether she could beat the opponent in front of her. She took a few steps back away from the man unknowingly approaching the edge as she did so, she didn't understand this overwhelming feeling that spreading through her body. She was afraid of the man in front of her, he was nothing like the pirates that had abducted her. He had bested her multiple times now yet he still resist causing her any harm, even when she had threaten to break him he simply restrain her movement without causing her any harm. It was this mercy that was causing this fear within her, she couldn't understand why he would back down when he had the advantage and this unknown scared her. Yet this fear resulted in the flight or fight response Leviathan wasn't the type to run, resulting in her fear being replaced by a overwhelming urge to crush the opponent in front of her.
Perfect~
The word came out of her mouth in a sing song manner almost as if she was overjoyed that her power had been taken away from her. However, this was all a bluff. She was planning on how to work around her ability but it didn't change the fact that she was afraid of the man in front of her. She bent down lifting up a few pebbles that laid on the ground near her feet. She held up five small rocks in her hand showing them to them in her open palm. In the next moment she poured all the pebbles but one into her other hand and put her hand in the position to flick the rock at him.
"You know, that armor has one major weakness to it~"
In the next moment she would would use the full force of her strength to flick the rock just to the left of Callum's head and towards the lighthouse behind him. The rock would move at bullet like speed piercing a hole into the wall of the lighthouse. Just as she fired that off she would place on more pebble in her flicking hand at this time aim it at Callum's head.
"It will protect you from any serious damage but you will still feel the force of the impact. As such you can still be hurt and even knocked out even with those scales"
In the next moment, she swung her hand holding the majority of the pebbles hurling them at him. It would be as if someone had aim and fired a shotgun at Callum at close range. If he used the scale armor he would avoid any serious harm but the impact from the pebbles would hurt like hell. She was about to unleash the last remaining pebble but just before she could she felt the reins being yanked away from her. In the next moment she would collapse backwards covered in sweat. In Leviathan's fear induced weakness Manami had regained control but the fight had been exhausting. She was panting as she laid on the ground, a small grin appeared on her face as she stopped Leviathan before she could attempt to deal a finishing blow.

[attr="class","sf_body"] [attr="class","sf_text"]The girl, Shimizu Manami would stare at him in such disbelief it was almost impossible not to pity her. But Callum could not return the gift, only absorb it. The thing would return itself the moment he absorbed something different, or over the next few days, giving the girl the distinct advantage she'd once had.
Whilst he'd been busy readying for a prepared oncoming attack, Callum was suddenly puzzled by the single word the little girl uttered. Perfect. What was perfect about her situation? He had ultimately broken down her ultimate defense, and the fact that she seemed rather unbothered by it was....disturbing to him.
Callum was perhaps a little too curious as he watched the girl stoop down, gathering the pebbles as cautiously as one might gather skipping stones. He had no doubt this was some part of her lethal plan, but how was she going to break through his rock-solid defense?
He was no stranger to the fact that she would know every weakness of her own ability, but he waited perhaps a second too long as she watched her raise her hand. Crap. The cracked cement beneath her feet should have been enough to indicate there were more dangerous aspects to this girl than met the eye.
But Manami would no longer meet his gaze, and Callum was forced to resort to cheap tricks, and what little strength he possessed. As the first stone came hurtling towards him, Callum would duck, only to discover the rock was never meant for him. His gaze was trained on the gaping hole it left in the tower, only to realize he was in far more peril than he'd ever imagined.
A distraction. Callum barely avoided the second stone with reflexes that would make even the Hokage jealous. But this victory was short lived as several more followed suit. Crossing his arms to cover as many vitals as he could, Callum squeezed his eyes shut, preparing to absorb the impact.
The first blow knocked the breath clean out of his lungs, and the rest hit with enough force to render the man near unconscious. Doubled over, Callum gripped his sides, wheezing as he forced himself to remain standing. His legs trembled weakly as though they were no more than cheap chopsticks trying to hold up a grand piano. And each breath was either hard labor or hard time.
Everything hurt. The pain seemed to have sprawled across his ribs, his stomach, even his chest as though the agony were making a living room out of his carcass. "So you do have a weakness. That's good to know." The man grunted between breaths, casting his opponent a hard stare.
During his struggle, his switchblade had been rudely wrenched from his grip. The knife lay only a foot away, but before he could reach for it, the Leviathan collapsed, missing the steep drop off by only a few inches.
"Watch out!" Callum trailed off, watching the small girl cautiously. Enemies or not, this little girl didn't deserve to drown at sea. Whoever she was, she'd had enough consideration to come and check on him and to even carry him to the hospital. He wasn't quite sure what her deal was, but Callum couldn't just leave her here.
Limping weakly, the man approached her side, collapsing heavily on one knee. "Don't try anything, I just might sacrifice you to Poseidon." His fingers rested gently upon her eyelids, lifting them in an effort to force her to meet his gaze. Should she make eye contact with this golden eye she would find herself paralyzed, which was a joy-ride in comparison to the vicious pain his penance stare was meant to induce.
Draping one of Manami's arms across his shoulder, Callum slid his arms beneath her, one cupping the underside of her knees, the other supporting her back. "It's my turn to carry you now." He didn't understand what was wrong, but her exhaustion enough was no reason to leave her alone in the dark.

Manami was breathing heavily as Callum began to approach her position. She almost felt like she was suppose to be praying to some god for how lucky she was that this man was strong enough to intimidate Leviathan. If it wasn't for the weakness that was created by this dear Manami wouldn't have been able to successfully wrestle control from her. As he grew closer Manami listened to the waves crashing against the shore behind her allowing the So be to calm her nerves and her heart, which was still beating rapidly from the fear Leviathan had felt.
“Hello again”
Her voice had returned to the soft timid tone it had been when she first met the man. The growling and aggressive tone that had been used when Leviathan had been in control had vanished as if it had never existed in the first place. She watched as he took a knee next to her and listened as he made the joke about sacrificing her to Poseidon, at least she hoped it was a joke. As he reached his hand towards her eyes, she knew what he was trying to do but she wanted to say a few things before she was paralyzed. Slowly, she moved her hand to grab his and prevent it from reaching her face. Once she had a grip on his arm there was no way he would be able to reach her eyes. She chuckled a little before responding to Callum’s statement.
“I’d be careful what you say, you already have her scared of you. She might come out again if you threaten to throw me into the water. I have to say I’m impressed I’ve never felt her so afraid of someone before and she's been in bad company before”
She took a deep breath and composed herself as much as possible before continuing. She could feel Leviathan trying to force her way out to stop Manami from putting her current thoughts into words. The dormant monster didn't want to admit to being in the wrong and that was exactly what she was going to do.
“I don't know how I could possibly apologize to you at this point and I don't mean to try to justify her actions but I feel at the very least I owe you an explanation after all that has happened. You see I have a bit of a split personality, I’m in control most of the time but my other personality can be a bit overprotective at times and she sort of panicked when you reached for my throat”
Ha! You’re fooling yourself if you think I intervened for you, I just wanted to teach him a lesson and I would have if you didn't get in my way
Leviathan mocked Manami but her tone didn't have the same confidence as before and even sounded like she was doubting herself. Yet Manami ignored this internal voice and continued her explanation to Callum anyways wondering to herself was she was defending Levi.
“I know she might of seem extremely harsh, abrasive, and aggressive but she did mean well. I’m sorry for all the trouble she and I caused for you. Hopefully if we meet again it will be on much more peaceful terms but until then can we try starting over?”
She knew it was an unreasonable request considering all she had put him through but she didn't like having enemies. He seemed like a very kind person as well, considering how many times he tried to avoid hurting her, and she didn't want someone like that hating her. She just had to pray now that the man would have enough goodwill to attempt forgiving her.
“Hi my name is Shimizu Manami, it’s a pleasure to meet you. What’s your name?”
She would wait for his response and then release her grip on his arm. Before he reached her eyes, however, she would turn her head and look into his yellow eyes on her own. Just like before she felt her body freeze up the instant they made eye contact. In the next moment she would feel Callum pick her up and she made no attempt at resisting nor could she have even if she wanted to. @callumblaine

[attr="class","sf_body"] [attr="class","sf_text"]Hello again. It was a rather odd way to begin their conversation, and Callum offered the fallen girl a confused smile. It was like speaking to Gollum, or for that matter any insane person with a personality disorder. But the man listened carefully, hovering nearby the girl, all too aware of his own aching wounds.
"Well, I'm often no exception when it comes to bad company," though Callum couldn't fathom how he'd intimidated the leviathan, to begin with. The odd monster-like girl seemed to have unresolved business before she'd vanished. She'd had enough fury to flay him in seconds and Callum hadn't seen a trace of this fear Shimizu Manami was talking about.
As the young girl spoke, Callum became increasingly aware of the cold sea spray and the chill that settled in on the night time breeze. It would be very cold out soon, and he couldn't leave the little girl out here in such a state of exhaustion.
The prospect of 'starting over' was about as sensical as returning a turkey to its coop after it had already been cooked. Sweeping this incident under the rug wouldn't change how he saw her, or the new wariness the man bore now that he faced her. "You can call me Callum." But whether that was his name or simply what she could call him, the man didn't say.
Instead, his penance stare would release her from it's grip, allowing her body to move as it willed, though Callum kept a wary eye on her still. Rising slowly to his feet, the man nearly doubled over in pain. Shit, he cursed, feeling his leg trembling beneath the added weight.
Shifting Manami onto his back, Callum wrapped the girls arms around his neck so he was giving her a piggy back. It went without saying they would be back to square one in an instant should her split personality come out and try to strangle him. This was an act of trust that went beyond his zone of comfrot, and the man could only pray she wouldn't abuse it.
Keeling over to pick up his switch blade, Callum raised the weapon to eye level, holding a little closer than one might while inspecting it. "I'm not going to hurt you." He confessed, in case the girl grew uneasy at his actions. Instead his eyes began to glow all the brighter, until his penance stare seemed to shine like a single golden light.
In the dark, Callum could barely make out a reflection along the metal, focusing instead on the two golden orbs that appeared to stare back at him. Almost immediately a numbmess swept through his body, as though someone had splashed ice water onto all of his bruises.
Taking a breath, Callum pocketed the knife all to aware of the pain that came rushing back. "I'll bring you as close to the city as I can. Then you're on your own." He wheezed quietly, taking slow, unsteady steps away from the light house. Callum was accustomed to pain, his own father had seen to that. But since his time on the run and coming to Aurora academy, the man had built up a considerable amount of endurance, something the old him would have never considered possible.
It was due to this Callum was able to make it to the edge of the beach before he had to put Manami down. His breath was coming in short gasps, and he sunk against a nearby lamp post to regain some sort of composure. "Where are your parents?" He asked the child rather bluntly. "Won't they be worried you're out on your own?"

"Hmm, so your name is Callum. That's a nice name"
Even after she was released from the penance stare Manami didn't move much, any extra movement on her part would only increase the difficulty of carrying her and she knew it. However, despite her best efforts there was no stopping saving him from the immense pain that was about to follow. A heavy feeling appeared in Manami's stomach as she felt him nearly double over from simply trying to lift her up. It was her fault that he had ended up in such a condition and if she had just stolen control from Leviathan earlier than he wouldn't have gained the additional bruises. Every injury on his body had been a result of her failures and the guilt of these mistakes weighed heavily on her.
"You should try to be more careful, your body is already beat up enough as it is even excluding the side effects of activating the scales. You probably haven't realized it yet but materializing those scales drains the body of an immense amount of energy, especially since this is your first time using them and your body isn't prepared. Also considering that you didn't end up gutting me earlier I'm assuming that you lost a good amount of energy resisting the violent impulses, thoughts, and urges the ability implants into you once it's activated. It would probably be for the best if you rested a bit before even considering trying to carry me.
Despite her protest, she found herself being given a piggyback ride and once she was out of Callum's line of sight she couldn't stop herself from blushing. She really hoped that no one would see her being piggybacked. Manami stayed relatively calm as Callum picked up his knife, it might of been a weapon but if he was planning on stabbing her he could of done it when she was laying on the ground instead of carrying her over to it. As such it seemed very unlikely that he was planning on attacking her and this assumption was confirmed when he stated that he wasn't going to hurt her. She found it odd that he was looking into the reflection of his eyes in the knife blade, wasn't his ability paralysis through eye contact? Why would he be trying to paralyze himself? However, a moment later he began moving again so the idea that he was paralyzing himself was thrown out the window.
Just as he began to say he would bring her as close to the town as possible Manami felt her eyes closing on her. It was already late, Levi had used up a large amount of energy transforming and resisting the paralysis, and she had burned up the last of her energy reserves surpassing Levi. Needless to say Manami was exhausted and quickly fell asleep on Callum's back without even realizing it. Her arms stayed locked around his neck even as she slept as if instinctually they understood that letting go would result in only more trouble. Manami only just woke up a few moments before Callum reached the beach and put her down. It was obvious that he wasn't in good condition by just listening to his labored breathing and she felt obligated to stay around until she could confirm that he was alright. Her strength had returned to her but she remembered what happened last time she tried to carry Callum and she wasn't going to make the same mistake again.
"My parents' won't be worried about me, they're back home in Japan so they don't have any idea that I'm out here. Those abilities of mine, though I guess one of them is yours now, caused quite a bit of trouble back home. Especially when Levi was in control, she has a bit of a short fuse as you are well aware. However, it's not like I'm on my own out here. My parents sent me to a boarding scho..."
Manami never finished her sentence as she came to fully realize her situation, it was very late and she hadn't even told any of the school faculty members that she was planning on going to the lighthouse. None of them would have any idea about her whereabouts. Sweat began to trickle down from the top of the girl's forehead once again, she was going to get into so much trouble if any of the staff found out she was out here at this hour. @callumblaine
