Instrumental Music Courses
Specialty Instruments
For those students interested in the mastery of instruments uncommon in basic orchestras or bands, this class provides the opportunity to delve into the finer aspects and techniques. Specialty percussion, strings, and wind instruments are all accepted.
Bands
Students interested in performance music can join Rock or Jazz Band or the Student Orchestra depending on their instruments and talents.
Vocal Music Courses
Choir
For those students looking for a predominantly vocal performance, choir is the best option. Students will be sorted by vocal range and taught how to best utilize their voices. They perform at least once a semester.
Ensemble
Similar to choir but smaller, students will have to earn their place here with pre-semester screening. Ensemble also incorporates slightly more instrumental aspects into their performances. They perform at least once a semester.
Traditional Art Courses
Painting
This course focuses on the basics of acrylic, oil, and mixed media painting on canvas and similar materials. Students will show their final pieces in an end of semester art display.
Drawing
This course covers a number of media, both wet and dry, on a variety of papers and paper products. Students will show their final pieces in an end of semester art display.
Sculpting
Utilizing a variety of mediums, this course teaches and explores different kinds of sculpture making. Students will show their final pieces in an end of semester art display.
Media Art Courses
Graphic Design
Utilizing a number of graphic design programs, students will learn the fundamentals of graphic design and how to succeed at marketing their designs.
Printmaking
Students will explore various kinds of printmaking including- but not limited to- screen printing, block printing, and mono-printing. Students will show their final pieces in an end of semester art display.
3-D Design
This course focuses on the use of digital programs to design objects ranging from designs to furniture to building concepts. Students will have access to several design programs and a 3-D printer during this class.
Art History Courses
Renaissance - Modern Day Art
Delves further into the complexities of art, politics, and their intersections while exploring works from the Renaissance Era through the present.
Pre-History - The Middle Ages Art
Introduces the idea of what constitutes art and explores art from around the world from pre-history through the Middle Ages.
