POWER DESCRIPTIONS

Pyrokinesis: Riku has the ability to set things on fire. He can create fire, or manipulate fire that is already present.

Telempathy: Riku is not the strongest when it comes to the empathy part of this power, however he is a fantastic mind reader and is even skilled enough to occasionally control what people do or think. He is capable of reading some of people's deepest and innermost thoughts, and he is very good at changing people's minds in his favor. He can feel the emotions of others, but those feelings do not control him, not can he alter the emotional state of another person, not that he really has to.

APPEARANCE

His hair is rather long and almost always kept down, it only gets pulled back if he's having a really bad day or if he's fighting. And its always silky smooth and shiny. It's also a rich golden blonde. He has blue eyes that seems to get lighter or darker depending on his mood, but no one is actually certain about this, and lightly tanned skin. He has many scars and markings all over his body, but he always seems to hide them. He has tattoos on his back and the inside of his wrists. Riku is roughly 5'11" and has an average weight of 170 pounds.

Riku has two types of clothing, his work clothes, and his relax/day off clothes. His work clothes usually involve a somewhat loose fitting sweatshirt or long sleeved shirt that is usually darker in color, A lab coat goes over this, and black or dark blue pants of some kind. His lazing about clothes include all things comfy to him. T-shirts, hoodies, sweat pants, cargo pants, pretty much anything that a usual 20-something would wear, though its almost always fashionable. He doesn't have many sentimental items really. But he is always wearing an earring in his left ear, a ring on his right hand, and a few random jewels tied together on a thin silver chain around his neck. He carries a blade with him at all times..

PERSONALITY

One of the hardest people to comprehend, Riku is the type of person that could be anyone he wanted to be. He's hard and cold, usually being a very strict person, at least to his students. Around people he cares for, he's sweet and caring, one of those types of people that would do anything to save the ones he cares about, but on the other side his loyalty often leads to him getting hurt. He's naive when it comes to emotions, and he still does not comprehend love and happiness as well as most others do. He's very stubborn and an easy fuse to light, his quick temper seems to get him into a lot of fights, but he usually comes out on top anyways. He's very smart and loves to study and read upon all of the different powers and elements, taking notes and making everything he can on the subject. He reads up on all the histories and different aspects of powers as well, spending a lot of his free time gathering information.

On the outside he seems very collected, respectable, and one of those types of people that will listen to anything you have to say and offer advice, but honestly he's imagining all the ways he could kill you in his head. He seems to be a rather calm person, but the quieter he is the more unstable his emotions. He's very easy to set off and once you do there's little stopping him from driving you into the ground with his pure intention to do nothing but cause you pain. He seems friendly enough, but he does not enjoy contact with other beings. On the inside he is slowly falling apart and rebuilding himself every day. It is speculated that he may actually feel guilty about what he is doing for Kyrarei, however it hasn't been proven. Riku is a rather proud creature, especially when it comes to his work. He is diligent and a hard worker, after all, he didn't get to the top by being lazy. He has always been quite ambitious, and will do just about anything to accomplish his goals.

Riku is a bit anal about things and quite a clean freak. He may even have slight OCD, as everything has to be organized and in the proper places. Kyrarei, being the messy individual that he is, will purpose move Riku's things just to watch him get agitated about it.

BIOGRAPHY

Riku's life was not a good one. His mother died in childbirth, and his father was quite abusive. On top of that, he was quite a drunk, and they rarely had money for clothes or food, just barely making the payments for the house each month. But despite that, Riku did his best to keep things clean. His father did have a job, and Riku essentially became a housewife. Of course, he hid his abuse whenever he went to school, and he kept himself isolated and away from others, always putting on a fake little smile and assuring everyone that he was just fine.

Growing up, he wasn't allowed to have any friends or pets or anyone to really keep him company, so instead, in whatever free time he had, he turned to books, research. He loved learning, finding science especially fun. He'd occasionally do a few experiments, trying to figure out how things worked. However, he really shouldn't have tried experimenting on the neighbor's dog, as his father caught him, called him some sort of sick freak, and sent him off to an institution for rehabilitation. He suffered through all sorts of horrible treatments, from freezing ice baths to electroshock therapy, but of course, he wasn't actually crazy, there wasn't really anything wrong with him. He explained that he really just wanted to go into a medical field or something and he was just curious as to how anatomy and biology worked. All he wanted was to further educate himself, and he didn't mean anything by it. But still, the treatments persisted.

When he turned 15, something horrible happened. After about 6 months at the institution, Riku was sleeping the night away, plagued by nightmares as he often was, when his room caught fire. Of course they had tried to pull him out of it, but as that was the center of the fire, they gave up and saved as many people as they could. Three days later they found him laying under a collapsed beam, barely alive, but not badly burned as he should have been.

From there he was transferred to another hospital where he was very closely observed for a few days before a representative approached him about an opportunity. A school. Apparently he had started that fire, though he didn't know it at the time, and the voices he heard in his head didn't mean that he was actually crazy. So he accepted.

Delving into that school was the best thing that had ever happened to him. He even went as far as to develop a crush and stalk an upperclassman until he had the courage to approach him. After he graduated, he went on to further a career in science, taking as many courses as he could in college. But with his history, no one really wanted to hire him. He became quite devastated by this, and turned to his lover for some sort of assistance. Kyrarei agreed to give him a job, working as an underground doctor and surgeon.

Each year after graduation he returned to the school, just to see how it was going along. By age 24, he was offered a job position, as his favorite science teacher had passed away. Of course he accepted, finishing out his few college courses and beginning as soon as he could. He still works for Kyrarei on the side, as well as offered him a job at the school as well. After all, he needed some kind of a legal paycheck.
