POWER DESCRIPTIONS
Gravity Manipulation; Advanced: Quinn has an instinctual sense of masses and can manipulate the forces that they work on each other and the earth. When she cleans she increases the general gravity of the area to help dust settle. With concentration she can pick out a range of masses and have only things that weigh a to b be affected by her power. She can switch the rules of gravity making smaller things get drawn together faster than larger masses and then increase/decrease this affect within these new rules. When she manipulates gravity the affects only last at full power up to 3 minutes when she isn’t there to sustain it. After the 3 minutes they will slowly fade. Normally, her reach is 30ft. Quinn can push it farther, but the concentration and physical effort needed seems like a waste. On the passive scale people can usually agree that the area around her is a little heavier than normal. Like she subconsciously wants everyone to know she is there.
In her third year, the teachers mentioned that she could probably fly but she is afraid of heights and refuses to test it. Though her gravity powers can be applied to her directly as it can any item or person. She normally will only go as far as lowering the gravity affecting her slightly so she can jump up and reach cobwebs. Anymore than that and she would be sent too high or go too fast for her own comfort and freak out losing control in the moment.
Telepathy; Intermediate: Quinn’s telepathy is area based as well. She can’t focus on one person’s thoughts very well nor can she input thoughts into one person. When she tries to input a thought it covers everyone around her. Due to this she normally sends out the idea of cleaning when she is working. This leads to students unconsciously picking up their trash and putting things where they belong. She tries not to use her telepathy when using her gravity manipulation as it brings out darker urges leading to unsavory inputs. Lucky for her she isn’t at the point where she can control people but part of her really wants to.
APPEARANCE
Quinn is a happy plain Jane and not very visually interesting. She was overlooked when she was a student and still people really don’t notice her. Makeup isn’t her style and bright flattering clothes seem like too much work. At 5’5” she towers over almost no one and always dresses in the same clothes making herself seem like part of the scenery. A simple combo of a white button up, black tan top, black baggy pants and some boots she has had for 5 years. Old cotton white gloves complete the look but she only wears them when she is working or outside.
Her black hair rests about an inch and half from her shoulders. It’s usually in a ponytail or free flowing. Once she feels the subtly brush of hair on her shoulder then it’s time for a haircut. Her eyes are a dark gray that appears to be black, just like her father’s. Skin tone wise it changes with the seasons. The more she is outside the darker she gets. Usually she is pretty pale but, instead of burning, Quinncy can achieve a pretty good tan.

PERSONALITY
Quinncy, or Quinn as she likes to be called, is a fearfully plucky, upbeat, helpful, domineering woman. If she isn't cleaning you can find her reading books on topics she knows she will never fully understand. When she is cleaning, majority of her day, she's in her zone. With a radio on her hip, to be called into immediate messes, she works quickly and with a smile on her face. Every dirty area is a battle she is ready to win in a never ending war. Quinn tries to clean in areas with little to no students so she can use her powers to their fullest.
With strangers Quinn can seem shy and slightly avoidant as she tries to figure out why they are talking to her. She always tries to be friendly but it usually catches her off guard when people actually notice her. Getting to the point during these interactions is her main goal and she will bluntly ask you to get to it if you take too long. If she knows the reason someone is talking to her, meeting or some other connection, then she is bubbly and straight forward. Not a shy bone in her body as she attempts to hold back playing 20 questions to get to know this new person.
But if you are trying to get to know her then you are in luck. Quinn is easy to read and keeps almost no secrets. She loves reading on her off time and usually retains enough info to start a conversation on a topic but never enough to finish it. She really doesn't understand logical stuff. Things like what a derivative is and why it's important are above her but she can always figure out an equation if you just give her rules and a set of numbers to play with. When she has a full free day she likes to not spend any money and enjoy nature. Wandering the parks in town and the forest near the school if she doesn't have too many errands. If the school has any clubs needing help with building or setting up anything she will usually appear. Even though she doesn't teach she still feels like she's responsible for the students. Food wise she loves the spicy food even though she cries every time she eats some and stir fries. Usually she is too busy to cook a full meal so any cooked, hot meal brings a smile to her face.
The person people befriend and learn about is only one side of Quinn. Yeah, she is friendly and passionate. Enjoys helping others and likes to get the job done. She is more than happy to do grunt work as long as she likes it and its physical. At the same time, she subconsciously wants everyone to submit. To her ideas when she brings them up. To not question her choices and trust her. To respect the fact that she feels she owns the territory they stand on. Even to the point of feeling joy when thoughts of everyone on their knees passes through her head. She knows this is probably the reason her powers add a slight pressure to the area around her when she thinks she turns it off. It's also the reason she doesn't like to use her gravity powers with her telepathy. She feels she may accidentally send out suggestion to submit if she isn't careful and she don't want to force anyone.
Forcing others is something she constantly fears with her powers. Part of her wants to force every one down and control all their actions but she doesn't want to hurt anyone. Emotionally or physically. You can imagine her combat grades when she was still a student. She understands the idea behind fighting with her powers but really doesn't want to unless someone is threatening something of her's.
BIOGRAPHY
Quinn grew up in a small town along the rust belt. Her father was employed full time in the local factory making parts that were shipped out of state while her mother stayed home with her for Quinn first few years. Their life was stable and peaceful though a little lonely at times. Her mother and farther were not ones to make friends or socialize with the community. They kept to themselves leaving Quinn to naturally do the same. When she was old enough to enter school she blended in. A happy child who played well with others but always seemed distant. She never wanted to invite other kids over for her birthday and never took the time to remember anyone's names other than her parents and a few other adults.
When she was 10 her mother took a part time job. It wasn't like Quinn needed her mother home to help with homework but sitting at home alone was something she wasn't use to. Soon though her father started to spend less time at work. It was refreshing. He would sit with her and watch tv, let her show him a cool new thing she learned in a book, and she would even see him before going to bed. It was a nice change for her but at time her father looked stressed, tired even. When ever she questioned her parents about it they would just simply say her father just had more free time now but she knew better. She was grateful when one day her father just switched off the tv and explained the factory was cutting shifts and laying off people. Explaining their bill situation and why her mother was working now. She listened and when he was finished her said her thanks and he switched back on the tv.
At school Quinn evolved from her old friendly loner persona. She actually tried to remember classmates names and had a group of people she could actually call friends. When Quinn was near 12 years old, at the start of the new school year, she gained a bully. She didn't know why. When she told her father he laughed and said it was cause she looked easy. He asked, that night, if she needed help but she didn't want to trouble him so she said it was no big deal. Just a boy being stupid and it was just that. Name calling, hair pulling, chasing her around the playground and trapping her in small places. She didn't want to cause trouble for the teachers, or either parties parents, so she just tried to brush it off.
Her friends had similar problems but Quinn tried to make sure she got the worst of it. Protecting them as much as she could and they repaid her with trust. Listening to her, following what she said and Quinn showed her appreciation everyday. One day, one of the girls in her 'pack' came into lunch with a bruise. The group went silent when she sat down. It was the first time any of the bullying had gotten violent. They tried to resume normal conversation but Quinn just stared for a bit before standing up and leaving. Before it was a dull feeling, the feeling of that extra layer of friendship from them all enduring the same thing but all she felt now was rage. She quietly went through her classes thinking on it trying to figure out what to do with this emotion. When the bell rung she slowly gathered her things and left. Her house was only 15 minutes from the school leading to her walking home each day. As expected the two boys responsible for the majority of the harassment her friends went through appeared. Picking at her until she shakily asked if they were the ones who hurt her friend. When one confirmed with a small smile the other one just busted out laughing. For a second, before his face slammed into the ground bust his face and his friends. Quinn didn't hear the chocking screams until a car near her started to creak from the pressure. Quinn should looked down in shock before she yelled sorry and ran home.
All night she sat nervously glancing at the phone waiting for the two boys to tattle on her. When she got the school the next day they were absent but no one came up to her. She tried to act normal around her friends but she could see they noticed she was stressed. A month later one of the boys came back to school and when she went to get her food for lunch he cornered her dragging her up to the library. Too shocked to think she just went along with it. When they arrived he pulled them into a quiet corner. She could see see the stitches along his chin and upper eye. Little dots around his mouth where they wired his jaw shut to help with the healing he said. But what surprised her the most was how curious he was about how she did that. He had been trying to figure it out all month and clearly she had to be an alien or a superhero to do something like that. Him and his friend had been texting about it and they both agreed it was amazing. Finding her voice she told him he was crazy and left with him calling after her.
After that he started to sit at her table with her friends. It made everyone uncomfortable excluding the young boy. Slowly his old table started to integrate over making for a friendlier atmosphere and the boy doing what ever Quinn said cut a lot of the tension with confusion. Part of Quinn was confused but for some reason she was really happy but didn't know why. When the other boy came back he stuck by Quinn's side as well. When her old 'pack' finally got to spend time with her two out the two boys they interrogated her. Trying to figure out how she tamed the bullies but she really couldn't give them an answer. They warned her this could all be a long con to hurt them more and she agreed it could be a possibility but she told them to enjoy the peace now and she would handle the fallout.
Since they returned the two boys had been asking if she could do it again and each time she told them she didn't know. Part of her thought it was a dream but when she saw their scars it made it all real again. Near the end of the school year they followed her on her walk home convincing her to follow them for a bit. they lead her to an alley way with a trapped cat asking her enthusiastically to try to do it again. Or at least she thought that's what they said. She wasn't too clear cause she was too busy racing to free the cat. She heard the boys let out a combined "aww" as the cat ran off. Standing up she turned to glare at the two boys to ask them why they would do that to a poor cat but they were already on their hands and knees struggling to stay off the ground. One she saw them the pressure disappeared and they both let out a laugh and collapsed as she yelled that they deserved it. They how she did it but again she answered she didn't know. then they asked her to do it again but she also didn't know how she did it. They grumbled to each other before she interrupted them saying she would try to do it again but only if they were good. As she expected they cheerfully grinned and agreed with too much happiness.
After that day they were even nicer to the girls at the table even pressuring their old table mates to listen to Quinn as well. If they were a pack Quinn was the Alpha and the two boys her enforcers, that were never allowed to enforce. When school ended the three would hangout away from prying eyes as they all tried to figure out this power of Quinn's. At home, her father had stopped questioning about the bullies completely as he was focused on the layout and making sure they could pay the bills. Quinn's mother got fired from her first job and was hired at a small private religious school to clean. With her father staying out after his shifts to job hunt Quinn found herself following her mother to her late night cleaning job. After paying with the boys all day she enjoys spending time with her mother no matter the atmosphere. Together the cleaned the bathrooms, halls and classrooms and almost every week one of the teachers staying late would give her a candy apple. By the time the two of them got home her father was back and they would all eat together.
Quinn would admit the years leading up to her father getting laid off were some of the best. Spending time with weird friends, staying up late with her father and working just as late with her mother.
