POWER DESCRIPTIONS
Aerokinesis; Intermediate: Amaryllis spends much of her free time practicing her primary ability, aerokinesis, and has learned over the years its various skills and uses. For aerokinesis to work, she channels her elemental energy with her mind; though it’s not necessary, she tends to move her arms alongside the air movement she creates to better visualize what she’s creating. Aerokinesis is the ability to manipulate air, and through this she is able to move the air around her in both offensive and defensive ways.
Mental Resistance; Beginner: Though she’d never admit this aloud, Amaryllis is a beginner when it comes to mental resistance. The ability, itself, is to block mental attacks, and her only previous experiences with the sort have been through her mother. Since no one else has made an effort to invade her mind, she’s had little success with improving her skills. In order to harness the ability, she must block out the outside world around her and concentrate on her inner being, feeling the telltale signs of someone trying to invade her mind as a warning signal.

APPEARANCE
Amaryllis has a pretty face, though this is often overlooked due to her serious nature and seemingly-permanent frown. Her long, violet-colored hair reaches down to her waist, often times pulled up in a high, tight ponytail when she doesn’t feel like dealing with it. Fluffy bangs ascend over her sharp navy eyes, contrasting greatly against her pale skin complexion.
She’s tall for her age, standing at 5’8” while maintaining a healthy weight for her slim figure. While at school, she wears the standard uniform consisting of a button-up shirt, tie, jacket, and black pants. When not in her classes, she’ll be found in mostly gray attire alongside a cozy sweater; this is typical whether it’s summer or winter – she prefers comfort over fashion.

PERSONALITY
Amaryllis is known around campus as the ice queen, reflecting the surface-value of her personality. When one first comes in contact with her, she appears disinterested and aloof. She takes her values very seriously and, while someone can have a different opinion than her, she won’t tolerate someone abusing or mocking her own opinions. Her temperament can be easily tipped, and she’ll often act out violently if someone rubs her the wrong way.
If someone were to persistently make themselves into her life, however, she shows her attachment not through affection, but through loyalty and standing by that person. Amaryllis doesn’t often let others into her life, and those that do break through are rewarded with the warmer side of the ice queen.

BIOGRAPHY
Amaryllis Coll was born on a cold winter’s night, much unlike her younger sister’s warm spring morning birth. The two were separated by three years, but inseparable as they grew older. Her younger sister, Nettle, always adored Amaryllis’ cool nature and strived to be like her, much to Amaryllis’ confusion and amusement. Despite their different personalities, the two sisters stayed by each other through thick and thin, growing up together in their harsh home environment.
While their father eventually left their family for another woman, their mother raised them on her own – despite this being for the worse. Their mother was a telepathic woman, and was convinced both her children would bear her power. With this in mind, she would force them to spend their days after school conversing with them in their minds, stripping away their privacy and trying to have them imitate her. She later found out she could conjure images in the mind, and proceeded to use this method to force her daughters to face their worst fears.
Eventually after years of mental abuse, Nettle couldn’t take it anymore and lost control of her mind, ultimately ending up in a comatose state. Amaryllis had never felt such a blind hatred toward anyone than she had at that moment, hating her mother more than words could describe for taking away someone precious to her. Despite this setback, her mother continued ‘training’ Amaryllis, determined not to fail both of her daughters.
A few days after her thirteenth birthday, Amaryllis awakened both her abilities at once during one of her mother’s trances. After a burst of air knocked her mother back, Amaryllis was surprised to be instantly taken away from the dreadful illusion her mother had put her under. Realizing this power came from within herself, she threatened her mother to never touch her mind again, or else she’ll do far worse. Her mother, thinking she was in the right, from that day on tried again and again to reach her daughter’s mind, only to fail with backlash every time. Amaryllis realized throughout this torture there were days she wished her mother would try, just so she could fight back and declare her overwhelming hatred for her.
Another year passed within the war of their household, and along came a mysterious letter – the first ever letter addressed to Amaryllis Coll, herself. Opening it cautiously, she found inside an acceptance letter to the prestigious Aurora Academy, a school she had never heard of but was instantly intrigued by. Upon reading there were dorms, she quickly packed her bags and took the first bus there, determined to leave her mother and her horrible childhood behind her; the only person she didn’t want to leave behind, however, was her dear sister, someone she inwardly promised to come back for once she was stronger from the academy.
