POWER DESCRIPTIONS

TELEKINESIS - Intermediate:
Mavis is capable of moving objects or people with her mind through concentration. The most she can do with her telekinesis is move objects, make them levitate or cause them to orbit around her. This can deplete her energy if she uses the ability for too long and at times she can receive a headache if she is trying top move too many objects at once. When she is extremely stressed or angry her ability can act out and cause objects to start levitating or moving at high velocities.

FORESIGHT - Beginner:
Mavis is capable of predicting future events by seeing it. When it comes to this ability, she has little to no control of when it will happen. She will often freeze in place and be unaware of what is happening around her, making her rather vulnerable. Afterwards, she will often feel very tired and will need to rest for a little bit. Only she can see what happens and oftentimes she will see a 30 - 80 second scene.

APPEARANCE

Mavis had short dark brown (it can look black in some lighting) that is cut just above her shoulders. During school hours she will often keep it well groomed, but once it's over she will no longer care. After school hours she is often seen with the messiest tangle of short hair that will be deemed as 'future Mavis' problem'. The only item that she will wear in her hair is a red cap that her older brother gave to her when she was 9. Mavis has thin eyebrows that are the same colour as her hair. Her eyelashes are long and are one of her most feminine features. When it comes to Mavis' eyes they are the colour of dark chocolate and rather big. This tends to give her a more innocent look which is further confirmed by her soft facial features and slightly chubby cheeks.

When it comes to Mavis' body type, she is short and slender look. She stands at a height of 5' and is rather light when it comes to weight. Mavis is pretty strong for a girl, growing up on a farm and playing sports for years has made her rather strong. Despite the fact that Mavis has spent a good portion of her life out in the sun, she has managed to retain a pale complexion. This has caused some people to make pale jokes about her throughout her life. Another common thing to find about Mavis is that she may have scrapes or bruises on her knuckles since she does sometimes act out violently. Usually not enough to brutally injure someone, but she will start fistfights and kick at people if they make her mad.

PERSONALITY

The first thing people notice about Mavis is oftentimes her hot-headed attitude. She's a time bomb waiting to blow at the slightest thing that may annoy her. Tell her something she doesn't want hear, she will yell at you, try and annoy her and she will punch you. When it comes to people, her tolerance is very low and it does not help that she is often raring to start something. Causing trouble would seem like one of Mavis' favourite activities with the way she acts a majority of the time. She will say just about anything if she thinks it will get fists flying and adrenaline pumping. The feelings of others simply does not matter to Mavis since her goal is often just to make trouble because she enjoys it. She loves thrills and does not mind putting a little effort into starting them herself.

Commonly she is competitive even in these fights and will likely keep a steely determination to win since she thinks her skills are superior to those of her peers. No matter what the event is, Mavis will believe that she can and will win. Surrender is not an option in her books unless it's what the enemy is planning to do. When it comes to most things, Mavis refuses to give up since she is extremely stubborn. At times she can get reckless, especially if she believes that victory is in sight. She is unlikely to think before she acts or speaks and often relies on merely her instincts. If her instincts tell her to do something, then it is easy to say that Mavis will do it in a heartbeat. Mavis is not the patient type and tends to hate waiting, in fact it is one of the many things that make her tick. She gets fidgety when she has to wait or she will simply not bother if there is waiting involved. Patience with people is impossible for Mavis and most of the time she will just start yelling at 'the jerk who took too long'.

On a brighter note, Mavis is very capable, especially when it comes to taking care of herself. She can handle herself well and her hardworking attitude helps her complete her daily tasks with ease. Oftentimes she refuses to rely on another person, even if she is injured or sick. As far as she is concerned, that is showing a form of weakness. Her items are often kept tidy and she cleans up after herself whenever it is necessary. Mavis loves organization and will keep any items she owns well organized. She enjoys trying new things since to her it is the possibility of a new thrill that makes her venturesome. Due to her dastardly need to pick fights, Mavis has become rather alert to her surroundings. A majority of the time she will pay attention and often notice things that others may not.

Due to her need for thrills, Mavis is a very brave individual and is afraid of very little. She's not afraid to get hurt or deal out some pain to those who make her mad. This also causes her not to care about getting into trouble or get violent. When it comes to people who actually become important to Mavis, she becomes loyal and protective of them. She will defend them verbally or physically from just about anything. Hear a bit of gossip from somebody you don't like? Tell Mavis and she will likely be on her way to beat them to a pulp. Some bully giving you grief? Say 'hello' to your new bodyguard. However, when it comes to her own problems, Mavis is unlikely to concern anybody with them. She's a tough individual and prefers to sort out her issues herself instead of enlisting assistance. Despite her refusal to state her own problems, Mavis is surprisingly outspoken. If she has an opinion, you will most definitely hear it stated in the most blunt manner she can put it. Another common thing noticed about Mavis is that she is very sarcastic and can be a touch rude, even to her friends.

BIOGRAPHY

Mavis was born to a small family in a remote area that consisted of her, her parents and older brother. They lived near a small town and for the most part things were relatively quiet during a majority of Mavis' childhood. She helped out with chores, made a couple of friends and got teased by her older brother most of the time. Her brother and her fought a lot and sometimes they would start physically fighting each other over petty things, like somebody taking the TV remote. This caused the two kids to often be separated and placed in different rooms where they would sit bored for a while as punishment for their misbehaving, however, this did not stop them. They argued constantly and soon enough when their parents were not around they would scuffle and merely claim they were playing outside to avoid getting in trouble. It didn't take long for her violent and hot-headed outbursts to happen at school which resulted in many groundings and her parents often coming to the school. She misbehaved a lot and would rarely sit there quietly and be good.

Nothing really happened to Mavis until they were about 9 and her brother and her seemed to call a truce as she gave her his old hat. It was riddled with holes and made for a tough image, but he told her that if she wanted to keep it she had to behave in school. It was a planned devised by both him and their parents in order to keep the young girl out of trouble, and for the most part it worked. Mavis would resist the urge to punch her classmates when they made her angry, but she unfortunately kept her sharp tongue throughout school. To her family, it was better than nothing so thy accepted the fact that Mavis would use more verbal attacks. Only a year later did Mavis discover her telekinesis after one of the boys in her class poured glue on her intentionally thinking that she would not hurt him. The next thing people knew, objects were floating around her and sailing across the room towards the boy that had put glue in her hair. It took a while to calm Mavis down since whenever they tried, she just kept screaming about how he was at fault and it was his mistake. She was taken down to the principle's office afterwards and like always her parents came. The hat was taken from her for the accidental misbehaving, but Mavis felt no remorse, especially since people no longer tried to make her mad. Lastly, she enjoyed the thrill and thus the troublesome girl returned with nothing to hold her down.

Each day, she seemed to start fights to the point where she was kicked off the soccer and baseball team in her small town, but she no longer cared. At any chance she got, she would get into a fight with anybody and cared little for her own well-being. Her parents were furious, and soon enough were forced to keep her in her brother's care at all times in hoped that Mavis would look up to the man who now inspired to be a psychologist. They barely fought since her brother took care on how to defuse the situation quickly. He was skilled at it, and soon enough Mavis became the test subject of many other psychological based experiments. It was never anything dangerous, but he often tested what would make Mavis angry in order to avoid it. Eventually, they formed somewhat of a friendship with each other which was a miracle to say the least. Later on her brother got a girlfriend who became very close with Mavis since the lady was easy-going and kind. They dated for two years and sometimes warranted for Mavis to tag along with them since they both enjoyed her company.

Only a few days prior had Mavis discovered her second power, which allowed her to glimpse into the future, which freaked her out especially since the first thing she saw was her lifting her brother and pushing him into a moving train with her telekinesis. Mavis ignored the vision and claimed it was just some weird nightmare she randomly received. This went on until one day Mavis was coming home late from school since she had to stay late to finish some studying only to find that her brother had not waited for her. That caused Mavis to feel a little mad, but she went about her way and decided to tour the town until her mother finished her work at the library. The streets were busy due to a coming festival to the small village. That was when Mavis saw her brother kissing another girl by the train tracks and treating her like she was special, like how he treated his girlfriend. It did not take Mavis long to realize that his brother was cheating on his girlfriend, which made her extremely angry. She approached the two and soon she was arguing with her brother who was insisting that the girl was just 'a good friend' or 'somebody who felt like family'. Mavis only found herself getting more furious and when she heard the siren of an approaching train her telekinesis flared and pushed her brother back into it. There was lots of screaming and her brother was killed instantly by the impact with the train. The police came and her parents were called and there was crying, lots of crying. They questioned her, Mavis trying to be tough, but eventually she became emotional and her parents were forced to take her home until later.

The question continued for a few weeks until the police had a concrete story. For months, her parents kept her at home since they were uncertain of what they could do after what their daughter had accomplished. A few months after her 13th birthday she received an invitation to Aurora Academy. Her parents were skeptical, but they were won over when they heard that there would be other gifted children. They decided it would be best if she went there and Mavis agreed since she viewed it as her chance for a new start. She packed her items, taking her brother's red cap as a keepsake to remember her older sibling and her own sins. When she arrived at the academy, Mavis was not completely certain of what to think of the place. It was certainly nice, but the school was bigger than the one she came from which made it strange. Eventually she adjusted to her new surroundings and attended Aurora Academy for two years.
