POWER DESCRIPTIONS
Hemomancy---
Ryan’s first, and the one he tends to use rather heavily in the event that he gets wounded- which admittedly happens a lot more than one would think. Regardless of whether or not he has an open wound for his own blood to flow from, he can manipulate his own blood to his will, crystallizing and liquefying it to his will and whenever he deems necessary. The same capabilities can be applied to others, though only if he: (1) has physically touched the foreign source of blood that he manipulates, or (2), if he is within closer quarters of a foe with opened wounds. In the case of the latter, he can only do so to a somewhat minor extent unless the person’s wound was mild or lethal, and, even then, he would only be able to do so for a short amount of time since it would be physically connected to another, living, organic being.
Exoskeleton---
Somewhat self-explanatory. Ryan maintains the ability to create a sort of exoskeleton-type armoring to shield him from various forms of attacks and strikes. His own, personal flare is exhibited within the armor design, as it takes colorings of a black, grey, and red scale. He has a good control over it, and it is capable of lowering the damage that he receives by a good deal as of now. This, however, doesn’t go to say that its durability lasts forever. Should it take intense amounts of damage, then it’ll begin to chip and fall apart. Unless he refurbishes the armor set, then the durability rate will continuously go down- but, even then, doing so costs some of his physical energy. A preview of what his armor normally looks like can be seen right here. For sake of keeping his identity a secret, however, he often shifts the armor’s appearance when using it during Revolution-related missions, and a preview of that armor version can be found here.

APPEARANCE
Slightly taller than his younger, aqua-eyed cousin, Ryan stands at a height of six foot five and weighs in at one hundred and ninety-seven pounds on average, giving him a heightened, yet toned body that would likely be closer to the slimmer side, rather than muscular. Reflecting his Asian ethnic background, his skin is a bit lighter compared to some, though does hold a noticeable tan due to his Filipino genetics. Likewise, his eyes hold the common, narrowed shape, though appear to be naturally heterochromatic, with the left eye being golden and the right eye being a bright, piercing hue of red. His hair - which is borderline longer, though isn’t nearly long enough to cascade over his shoulders - is naturally of a darkened brown; seemingly black. Much like his cousin, however, he tends to take a shine to dying his hair. Often times, it’ll be a complete black, with either white or red streaks if not both, but can truthfully be seen with a wide variety of colors every so often.

PERSONALITY
Around the vast majority of people, Ryan is somewhat open, nice, and willing to help others out- regardless of how he may seem to be or act like. He tends to have a way with words, and could easily phrase himself to undergo a sort of persona that could range from anything between “leader-like, sly, and cunning” to “completely stupid”. His humor is often odd and suggestive, and he takes a shine to teasing others to see their reactions. Tends to speak with a natural and slight Filipino accent on a normal basis as result of growing up around a household with a semi-dominant ethnic background of that general field, though said accent tends to vanish whenever he gets serious, angry, or other things of the sort, or is just talking to some of his closer friends.
While a lot of people know him to be the type to be spontaneous and not-so-serious, his actual, personal beliefs and whatnot tend to go against what he seems to be like to some degree. Little do they know, Ryan is actually one for thinking things through in the more appropriate situations, and is actually more observant than many of the other people that he knows. He’s the type to form strategies for things- regardless if they’re big or small. He’s a philosopher, and somewhat of a justice-oriented person, too. If he were to see someone being discriminated, he’d be among the first to jump in and help out, and more than likely wouldn’t rest until the person/people who wronged another were rightfully put in their places.
Seeing such a thing is just one of the things that would make him serious and/or mad. Another major trigger would be depression-oriented subjects- primarily because he went through (and still does go through) it. Talk of general depression or other things attached to it like suicide hit him hard and would likely make him quiet and thoughtful within a split second. Depending on where the conversation went, he’d likely get mad, as well, but would leave before he snapped for the sake of those around him. If he were pushed to talk about things that he wasn’t talking about, however, then he’d get annoyed and the chances of physical retribution would go up. By this point, it wouldn’t matter if the conversation topic was trigger-esque or not. Ryan has a lot of patience for people and things, but if he gets to the point where he’s close to actually hitting someone to make them stop, then all of that patience has pretty much run dry, and the people around him would be at some type of risk one way or another.
This is more of a defense mechanism for him, and it actually strengthens him and blinds him at the same time for two reasons: deep down, he’s both a sadist and a masochist in general, no matter how much he tries to hide that fact. Niceness aside, everyone does have some sort of darker factor to themselves, and these two things just happen to be what influences his. Truth be told, he likes to hurt others if he’s pissed off enough. He also likes to receive the pain even more so than giving it. Often times, these two things stimulate him and make him stronger and harder to take down, but it also makes him less controllable, both by his own mind and by others. The more he’s pushed, the more he yearns to both give and receive pain. The more he yearns for this, the more he slowly begins to slip into a sort of insanity. Because of the fact that this particular part of him is what also fuels his first power’s (over) usage, he’s taken great lengths to control himself, so he hardly ever snaps and allows this side of him to show to overly-frightening extents, with the exception of when said ability is in use.
...When all control is lost, however, it would be hard to believe that he truly is the type of guy to go out of his way to help others, and that he’s normally just nice in general.

BIOGRAPHY
Son of Lina Lynn Matapang, as well as the presumed to be deceased Vincent Yongseok Arcken, Ryan is the second of the Arcken children. Born on January 5th in Covina, California, roughly nineteen years prior to the current time, he is the younger brother by seven years to Kaiser Yong-Soo Arcken- known better by some through his current main alias, K.I.N.G. From an early portion of his childhood onward, he had assumed the position of the heir-to-be of an underground organization that his parents formed by the name of the Revolution. Put shortly, the Revolution is a group initially created by Lina and Vincent, as well as a few of closer friends and family, with the intent of taking down select targets and taking on jobs throughout the various branches they have set up through parts of the world. To this day, it holds a similar system to a mercenary-friendly type structure and function, as those apart of the Revolution take on select missions and whatnot that they manage to get intel on, with the end goal being a variety of things that could be killing a target, escorting a person, or other things like that. Unlike most underground organizations, however, the Revolution was created with the intent of helping others, and its members only ever act as they do with justified intentions, for the most part.
For the first few years of his life, however, he actually had no knowledge of the Revolution whatsoever. As he attended school like any normal child, he recognized his parents as nothing other than a pair of business workers- which wasn’t entirely false, since their surface jobs did actually place them within a couple of the higher, more notable positions of the company that his cousin’s parents ran: Ion Industries. It was a similar case with his brother, whom he believed to be a normal student like any other. Out of all of the people in his life, Ryan always loved spending time with his brother, and would often be found asking him for aid with various things - be they school, dance, or music related, among other things - and hanging around him whenever they took a trip. Little did he know, however, Kaiser was as much of a part of the Revolution as Lina and Vincent were, and had been ever since Ryan was only around five years of age. He and his parents tried their best to keep their underground organization away from his knowledge for as long as they could for sake of keeping him from possible, extended harm.
At ten years of age, though, he would eventually be brought to light on the show that they ran. Through the years, Kaiser had begun to stray further from what the Revolution’s cause was, and had truthfully begun to indulge within the more crime-ridden and harsher portions of society, and had spontaneously disappeared when he was seventeen for reasons likely related to that, as well as how his beliefs gradually began to clash more and more with his parents’. Not quite understanding why everything happened as they did, Ryan’s curiosity drove him to begin asking and searching for clues as to why his brother left. While he hadn’t found anything worth noting - or rather, anything he would have been able to completely understand until he was older - he did manage to stumble upon several files and other pieces of information pertaining to the Revolution. There were some papers that held rosters of people and their aliases; including Lina, Vincent, and Kaiser, as well, who appeared to also be known as Artemis, Ares, and Sancus, respectively. Deciding to keep the find a secret, however, he decided not to say a word to his parents, only going on to continuously ask them as if he had no on what the Revolution was with no avail. A year after finding this and other things of interest out, his parents found an eleven-year-old Ryan curiously skimming through some of their files at long last.
Needless to say, he was scolded for being a bit too nosy- but that didn’t stop him from persisting on these new bits of info that truthfully intrigued him since his parents knew full well that he at least had an inkling of what their line of business truly revolved around. When he wasn’t asking about what happened to Kaiser and where he went, he was trying to get some facts about the Revolution and what it truly was. Eventually, his persistence seemed to pay off, as both Lina and Vincent eventually agreed to finally give him what he wanted to and told him what he kept asking for- although not without an obvious degree of reluctance, hesitancy, and concern for the child. All at once, he learned of the Revolution. Why it was started, what its cause was… The codenames, which were names of the Gods and Goddesses of various myths and religions in general. The basic things. And then he had one more question in the end.
Could he join?
Initially, the answer was a flat-out no- but that didn’t stop him from pushing for his parents to change their minds. One more year more, and he managed to get what he wanted- again, much to his glee, and his parents’ ongoing reluctance. Like Kaiser, he officially became a part of the Revolution at age twelve, inheriting the alias of Thanatos, which, to this day, seems to be his preferred name over his given one, and is clearly shown by how he’ll likely just introduce himself as Thanatos straight out, only leaving his true identity for those he’s significantly closer to to find out in the future. From then on, he also assumed the position of Revolution heir that his brother had abandoned the second he disappeared a few years later, and has trained himself immensely ever since then in order to meet the expectations set by the organization and to easily be able to carry out whatever missions and jobs that were briefed to the members.
Training and studies alike went on throughout the next few years, and during that period of time, he had actually uncovered both of his current powers and had gotten noticed by a couple of academy scouts, though initially turned down their enrollment requests for sake of keeping up with his Revolutionary activities instead. It was smooth sailing for a while, but things gradually began changing for the worse. A little while after that had happened, there was a supposed accident that occurred in one of the Revolutionary jobs, allegedly claiming Vincent’s life but leaving no traces of his death in its wake. To this day, he has been labeled MIA in the Revolutionary database, but the initial shock hit Lina quite hard, but Ryan even more so. The strain of losing his father was bad enough, since he truthfully considered him the next closest family member in his heart after Kaiser had left, but proved only to agonize him further due to the way that Lina seemed to cope with the matter. In the beginning, Lina had actually been somewhat of a strict woman, but was kind and very caring to her family nonetheless. After the incident, however, she hardened up and changed for the worse, going on to resort to physical, verbal, and emotional forms of abuse towards Ryan, both when she was aware and unaware of the fact alike. For the next two years, he dealt with these forms of tortures before moving out. At age eighteen, he moved away from the United States while still keeping in contact with the Revolution - and, in turn, keeping an indirect contact with his mother - with the help of his cousin and best friend, Taeseung Kyon. With his help, he took up a job at his family’s main restaurant - The Ionic Serenade - all while finding more taekwondo, dance, and parkour classes to keep up with even after moving away in order to support himself. After giving those scouters that he encountered a few years back another call, he gave them a delayed acceptance of his academy invitation and moved as soon as he could.
