✪ It was sunset. The bright sun, slowly setting over the Autumn colored trees. A cool wind passed by, with a few leaves floating off of the trees, Coming to a stop when they delicately hit the ground. Axel wrapped his scarf around his neck once more, feeling the cold breeze hit him. The warmth of the sun, that had previously been there was starting to fade. Axel sat on a bench right next to the fountain. The water, making a loud but serene noise. No one seemed to be around, which Axel enjoyed. He leant back, his head resting on the wooden back of the bench. Axel looked up, seeing the peach colored sky, with the occasional bird passing through. Axel had learned to savour these moments. Seeing as they were the only moments, where he could be alone. And at the same time, outside, instead of trapping himself in his room or a bathroom stall. For a while now. It seemed he had forgotten how to cry. Or that he had cried out all of his tears, and couldn't cry anymore. But at the same time, he wanted to cry. Axel stood up, walking around the fountain, pacing himself. With troubles and doubts racing through his mind. He knew that he should just leave these things behind and live 'in the moment'. But he never could. Axel always thought of what would happen to him, once he left Aurora Academy. He knew that he would probably fail, maybe moving back to his town with his family. Where he would be confronted with his past once more. The thing he was trying to avoid. And the sole purpose of him coming to this school was for that exact reason. To escape his past, and forget everything that once happened. Here he would be able to have new beginnings, a new start. Axel sighed, as he looked into the fountain, staring at his reflection. A small tear forming and falling into the fountain. Not able to cry anymore, he rubbed his eye. Giving his right eye a red-ish tint. Sitting on the ground, Axel leant against the fountain. Although Axel felt it had been hours, it had only been a couple of minutes. The sun hadn't fully set yet, still having a slight brightness to it. Axel heard footsteps off in the distance, but nothing to close. He stood up stretching his legs and arms, giving out a yawn. Axel turned around, only to abruptly be greeted by a boy. The boy didn't seem to be that older or younger than Axel, so he assumed that the boy was about his age. The boy had blonde hair, that was covering his head in thick bangs. Slightly covering his almost teal like eyes, that had an orange tint from the sunset. The boy having a slight similarity in his clothes. Wore a light blue jacket, the color complementing his eyes very well. However, the boy was quite taller than Axel but didn't seem intimidating. Axel waited for the boy to initiate the conversation. @kota ● 5 1 1 omg sorry this took so long, but i finally got it up yass MADE BY VEL OF GS

Kota inhaled a deep breath, taking in the crisp air of a beautiful sunset at Aurora Academy.
He currently stood outside, hands shoved in the depths of his jacket pockets, eyes focused on his nearby surroundings. A breeze blew through his dirty blonde hair, ruffling it up slightly; he didn’t bother to fix it, knowing boys could pull off the bedhead appearance if they wanted. Instead, he watched as a bird from high above landed on a tall tree branch, assumingly bringing grub back to its babies in the nest. He felt his lips curl up into a soft smile, turning his attention instead to the outside campus of his school. A few students were walking along here and there, while some sat in the grass to watch the breathtaking sunset with wide eyes.
He couldn’t help but agree with those spectators: it was quite the sight to see. But that wasn’t why he was outside. Kota found himself outside to take a break from his schoolwork, something he often did when he felt overwhelmed. Today was one of those days, with his work piled high to the ceiling and Kota doing everything in his power to put it off. He wasn’t lazy, per se, but today was just one of those days he felt like moving about. And so he did.
With that thought in mind, he put one foot in front of the other and began his walk off campus, having no particular destination in mind. Maybe the park? Yeah, he could see himself enjoying the nearby park by town square. Nodding to himself, he set off for that direction, humming a tune he heard on the radio quietly to himself.
Today had been a good day, aside from all the schoolwork waiting for him back in his dorm. Typically taking one day at a time was the best way to handle stress, and the initial stress of moving here had been hefty on his small shoulders. But there was no need to focus on that. He had been gradually making friends at the academy, something that, despite his outgoing nature, he had trouble with at his previous schools. Most kids didn’t seem to appreciate his loud and vibrant attitude towards everything, something he couldn’t change even if he tried. It was just the way he was.
Nearing the park, he began to pass by a large fountain before coming to a halt, stopping as he spotted another boy around his age peering into the fountain itself. He watched silently as a lone tear trailed from his eye, down his cheek to drop in the fountain, making a ripple effect in the water. A normal person wouldn’t have been able to spot that small tear from Kota’s distance, but with his enhanced vision he was used to seeing things from a distance.
Frowning, he decided to near the strange-looking boy. The other boy appeared shorter than himself, with whiteish hair and violet eyes. How strange, indeed! It fascinated Kota all the more as he neared him, eventually coming to a stop a few feet away. He wasn’t particularly sure why he was drawn to the boy – perhaps it was because he was crying? – but he knew it was instinctive, and he always followed his instincts.
Giving a warm smile, Kota held his hand out for the boy to take as he introduced himself. “Hey there, I’m Kota. I spotted you over there and thought you could use some company. What’s your name?” He hoped he wasn’t being too forward, but it was simply his nature.

▲ Breathing heavily, Axel weakly shook the hand that was waiting for him. Still letting out a few tears. Wiping the tears off of his face, Axel looked down at the ground. “Hey there, I’m Kota. I spotted you over there and thought you could use some company. What’s your name?” Not knowing quite why the boy was there Axel replied to his question."Oh, hello. I'm Axel." Still looking down at the ground Axel realised his fault. He knew that you're supposed to look at people when you're talking to them, otherwise you seem snobbish or like you don't care at all. Part of Axel didn't care and hoped that Kota would just go away. But the other half of his mind wanted to make more friends. And knew that this was one or the only way to make them. His eyes having a slight red tint to them from crying looked at Kota. "O-oh, thank you for coming over." The sun was about to set, with darkness soon consuming the park. With the street light flickering on. Axel hadn't talked to many people at the school, but so far it seemed as if everyone was happy at all times. While it gradually became darker Axel started to become light headed, the dark being something he hated. It wasn't things such as ghosts or monsters, rather, the fact that he couldn't see things lurking in the shadows or something dangerous ready to consume your 'soul'.
A small rustle came out of one of the bushes surrounding the fountain. Axel gasped in fear, falling back into one of the benches. His head fell into his arms resting on his knees. And Axel started crying and regretting everything that was happening. It had been quite a rough day for him and it seemed as if Axel was just getting by. He coveted for the affection of anyone, or simply just for someone to care about him. Because he felt as if no one did.
Axel looked up, only to see Kota still standing there. Axel quickly tried to wipe his tears from his face and forcing in the sadness that had been building up inside of him. Axel was quite embarrassed, knowing that crying was frowned upon, at least for people like him. Knowing that he would be judged if he kept crying, Axel tried his best to bring attention off of it.

Kota smiled, grasping the boy’s hand – who now introduced himself as Axel. He held the hand and gave a firm shake, surprised to only receive a weak and half-hearted handshake in return. The two dropped their hands back to their sides after that, and he noticed at that point the boy was still crying a touch.
“Axel, huh,” he replied, deciding to focus on a light subject. “I’ve never met anyone with that name before.” Kota always appreciated a good, unique, pleasant-sounding name, and Axel certainly fit that criteria. It originated from him not liking his own name, deciding to shorten it to something more unique. Everyone called him Kota by this point – even his teachers. The only person he couldn’t convince was his mother, but he supposed that was to be expected.
Axel proceeded to thank him for coming, making a weak attempt at eye contact, and Kota hummed in response. He noticed up to that point the sun had been gradually setting, taking its sweet time before darkness got its chance to consume the park. Kota did have a slight fear of the dark. Well, not the dark itself, but the unknown that lurked in its shadows. He supposed it was also fishy of him to approach a stranger at the cusp of nighttime, but chose not to bring that up, hoping the other boy could sense his good intentions.
Suddenly, his ears perked up at the sound of rustling behind one of the bushes. Both Axel and he gasped at the same time, falling down in surprised fright. As his heart rate increased, fearing the worst, he let out a breath of relief at the sight of a squirrel making its appearance to the side of a bush, showing the animal was the cause of the noise. Glancing over at Axel, realizing he had the same reaction Kota had, he couldn’t help but laugh at their situation. Two teenage boys, frightened over a squirrel. The whole situation was rather humorous.
Standing back up and dusting himself off, Kota looked over to Axel and offered another friendly smile, hoping the boy would realize his good intentions and cease his crying. “Looks like we both freaked out,” he laughed, rubbing a hand through his blonde locks of hair. Placing his hands in the depths of his pockets, he turned to look at his new companion and decided to ask aloud, “So what brings you out here? Do you go to one of the schools nearby?” The two looked of similar age, but Kota couldn’t be sure if this boy went to Aurora Academy like him or not. After all, there were a couple other schools in the area as well.
