POWER DESCRIPTIONS
Super Strength;Advanced:
Quite simple to explain, this power grants Shirai the ability to perform feats that require strength far beyond human capability, especially when her slim figure is taken into account. When she makes use of this, her entire body is strenghtened in a way that prevents her from being harmed by her own power. Raising a truck above her head will not squash her, punching through walls will not break her bones and so on. Due to the rather early surfacing of her powers and the constant need to regulate her strength, combined with martial exercises and the repeated third year, Shirai has achieved a great deal of control and precision, enabling her to use her strength for finer purposes, such as augmententing her movement with increased speed and jumping capabilites, precise regulation to lift heavy but fragile objects, throwing heavy things with accuracy or launching small things at projectile speed.
Thanks to her advanced control, the exhaustion and toll on her body are considerably lessened, but it's still totally possible for her to overdo it, usually resulting in soreness, muscle pain, injured tendons and other effects of physical exertion. Prolonged use of her strength also uses up a lot of energy, resulting in an increased need for food to compensate.
Mystical Shifting;Unique:
The Behemoth is a mythical beast that is most commonly referred to in religious texts, depicting it as an enormous ox-like monster. It is said to have been created along with the Leviathan, the mightiest sea creature and is supposed to be the mightiest land creature. Other interpretations depict Behemoth as a gluttonous demon residing in hell. It has also been attributed a variety of abilities.
The truth, as is usual with myths, is somewhat different.
Shirai possesses the ability to transform into a 50m tall monster, resembling a white-furred cat with razorsharp teeth and claws, easily capable of razing normal sized houses. Each strand of her fur is as resilient as a steel grider, effectively coating the massive beast in a layered armor capable of resisting most conventional weaponry. While her primary means of offense are her fangs and claws, she harbors yet another ability the Behemoth has been attributed with. She can produce a thunderous roar that will incite the most primordial fear in all animals and most humans that are able to perceive it. While this roar is able to be heard from up to a mile away, the effect diminishes with increasing distance from her. Those who are in close proximity will be faced with pure terror, while those who are on the edge of the area effect will at most feel restless and uncomfortable. This roar can only be produced in a fully transformed state.
The downsides to the transformation are an extremely heightened metabolism for the duration of the transformation, resulting in an extreme hunger afterwards and the need to rest in bed for a full two days while replenishing the energy lost by binge-eating. While transformed, Shirai will also experience a tremendous rise in aggressive behaviour, which is only stoked by any attempt to restrain her.
Additionally, to even be able to initiate the transformation, Shirai requires an open space of land, large enough to accomodate her enormous form, such as an open field for example. If her ground-contact is broken for more than 3 minutes, she will inevitably revert back to human form.
Unlike the Leviathan, Shirai is not aware of the full scope of her ability and thus cannot intentionally take on the Behemoth's true form. Instead, her shifting capabilities manifest in the ability to shift into a regular white cat with no anomalous properties if examined. Additionally, Shirai can partially shift, resulting in her growing both catears and a cat's tail with fur in the same white color as her hair. Both her tail and catears are somewhat sensitive areas. She can also choose to grow 20cm long claws instead of cuticles. These claws are razorsharp and sturdy enough to be used as weapons.
Finally, there's a flipside to this coin in the form of inherent primordial aggressive tendencies. Given the right circumstances, these tendencies can quickly evolve and take over, resulting in a drastic change of behaviour into the traditional predator. Cunning, but ultimately only guided by aggression and hunger, Shirai will quite literally go out to hunt for food or any target of her hate. Once she is satiated or robbed of her conciousness, she will revert back to her usual self with no recollection of the time spent as predator. She will only remember those times in the form of terrible nightmares that occasionally torment her. She is especially prone to this in the recuperation phase after a full Behemoth shift, due to her increased need for food. Grossly overdoing it with her Super Strength has the same effect.

APPEARANCE
Shirai, being eighteen years old, looks a few years younger due to her somewhat petite build, measuring in at 5'5" while weighing 124lbs. This in combination with a healthy lifestyle and regular martial exercises give her a lightly toned, slim build. Her chest and bottom are both modest but well-shaped and in combination with her bright skin and proportionally long legs put the finishing touches to her looks. Her hair is naturally colored in a pure white, the result of a lack of pigments, and is very soft to the touch. She wears it open at almost shoulder length, her pony being just long enough to cover her forehead while she leaves two streaks of her hair longer than the rest to have it surround her face. She always has two black clips in her hair. Her eyes are colored in a deep sapphire and usually express a somewhat piercing, or captivating look, not unlike that of a cat.
As for her style in clothing, Shirai prefers to wear all kinds of gradients ranging from white over gray to black, with white being her favorite. She has a distinct preference for zip-hoodies and pullovers, skirts and thigh-highs. Alternatively she wears shorts bare-legged. She makes a habit out of removing the arms from most of her hoodies, but it's not unusual to see her with an intact hoodie, depending on the weather. During class, she wears the uniform unaltered, but as soon as she gets a chance, she will switch the blazer for her hoodie and only change back for the next class or when a teacher demands she put the blazer back on.

PERSONALITY
To most people who don't know her closer, Shirai might come across to as cold and reserved, for her usual lack of emotional expressions. They wouldn't be too far off the mark, as Shirai is usually a calm and serious person, or at least she acts that way. She doesn't talk much and is usually quite blunt about it when she has to say something, no matter what it may be.
This might leave you in the impression that she's not one for fun, but that certainly isn't the case. She's actually quite fond of jokes and pranks, but will rarely admit to it. Her sense of humor is best described as mischievous and when she hears of a prank that's up that street, she'll gladly come by to observe and do her own part to it's success behind the scenes.
If she's mad at you, chances are you won't notice unless you pay close attention. Unless you have gravely offended her or those whom she is close with.
Generally, it takes a while until Shirai shows that she is pissed, but when that point is reached it happens all at once, and it's not something to enjoy. Once she boils over, it's not rare for her to use threats and violence to make a point.
She has the unhealthy habit of bottling up any sad or depressing feelings she experiences, since she absolutely wants to avoid even the slightest chance of someone seeing that weak side of hers.
Once it comes to romantic matters, things get interesting. Shirai has not experienced love before and is not only inexperienced but also quite dense. While she is more or less aware of her oritentation towards girls, she is still only suspecting it to be the case for a lack of interest in males. She's not one to flirt and most flirts will meet deaf ears with her. She's also not one to 'play around', but much rather will attempt to have a wholesome relationship with that person if she notices that they are also interested in her.
Over the time she has spent as a cat, she has picked up a variety of habits and mannerisms that either came along naturally or that she just can't get rid of anymore. She loves napping and has her favorite spots to do so. If someone takes them from her, she'll be peeved. She is somewhat lazy and lax with established rules, which also lead to her repeating the third year. In fact, she enjoys the cat-life enough to occasionally prefer it over her human appearance. As a result, she can fool most people into mistaking her for an actual cat and makes use of this.

BIOGRAPHY
At the young age of 4, Shirai was adopted by a well-off couple, incapable of having their own children, from Kyoto. As a result, she was doted on all the time, letting her develop into a somewhat spoiled and big-mouthed kid, but none the less a very happy one. She had friends, good grades and showed an early interest in physical activities, which ultimately lead to her beginning practicing martial arts regularly.
The only prick in her otherwise happy life was a single, incredibly vague memory of people she didn't know. It wasn't until she was told of her adoption in her early teens that she came to the conclusion that these faces belonged to her actual family. She never found out who they were and if her adoptive parents knew, they didn't tell her. They assured her multiple times that they had no information on her family or why she was put up for adoption and ultimately Shirai had to accept that she wouldn't find out.
It might have been for the better, as soon after she turned twelve, she began making incredible progress with her martial practices, especially dealing out blows that surprised even her seasoned instructors. The joy wasn't going to last for long though, as Shirai's strength continued to grow and soon became a real problem, as she grew more and more aggresive during the training drills and it ultimately ended in a serious incident in which Shirai sent another kid, the same age as her, flying across the room. She was suspensed from practices, when the kid was diagnosed with two broken ribs. Despite being shocked herself, this didn't deter her from continuing to train in her backyard, in an attempt to vent an inexplicable rage that was growing within her. It seemed to work at first, as she regained a sense of balance, while her parents made these changes out to be the early stages of puberty.
When her thirteenth birthday rolled around, Shirai was already aware and convinced of the fact that her strength, which she was gaining the most basic control over, was not natural. Scared of the fact, she hid the truth and became only more distressed and even more unbalanced than before, when she looked into the mirror one day, only to notice a set of cat-ears sprouting from her head. She stepped back in shock, felt something unfamiliar brushing against something that shouldn't be there and ended up knocking a bunch of things over until she finally caught her own tail. After locking herself in the bathroom for hours and her increasingly worried parents calling out to her, tail and ears finally disappeared, allowing her to step out and fool her parents with the excuse that apparently she was experiencing her first period.
Over the following months, Shirai did her best to both hide the abnormal side to herself while trying to understand and control it. Just as she was making progress, she happened to suddenly find herself a lot smaller and unable to speak properly. She suddenly had paws.. four legs.. a fur!?. She rushed to the mirror, stumbling and falling several times, not used to the body she was in and discovered a white, blue-eyed cat staring back at her from the mirror. It took her what felt like hours to wrap her head around the fact that that cat was, in fact, herself. Heavily distressed, she wished for nothing more than to return back to normal and lo and behold, it actually happened. It meant that this, too, was something she could learn to control. Which is what she was going to work on, with increasing success.
Soon after she began learning about her strange abilities, the nightmares began. Gruesome dreams of people being killed and eaten by something she couldn't see. The dreams were so realistic that she decided to ask her parents for help, finally. She also took the chance to explain to them the full extent of what she had been hiding from them. After initial disbelief, and witnessing Shirai transform right in front of their eyes, they promised her every bit of support she could need. Together, and with a therapist to treat her nightmares, Shirai began feeling better and better. Little did she know that the dreams were suppressed memories. Memories of her going out to hunt. She remains oblivious to this day.
When her fifteenth birthday rolled around, the family received a strange letter, inviting Shirai to a school for those who faced similar troubles. Without much hesitation, they all agreed on enrolling her, so that she could learn to live a normal life.
Once at Aurora, Shirai poured her best efforts into the power-classes and enrolled in the Martial Arts Club, where she could now measure up against people that could keep up with her power. As she grew older, she began using her shifting power more often. In her first year, she could often be seen with ears and tail out in the open. With the coming of her second year, she began using her cat-form regularly, getting used to it and learning how to properly utilize it along her enormous strength. At the same time, she began skipping the 'regular' classes in favor of going out as a cat. While she managed to get into her third year, she only began skipping more and more.
Obviously, her parents were notified and they took her on a weeklong trip into the mountains, to re-establish their bonds and to have some serious words with her. It ended up becoming a heated discussion, after which Shirai made into the woods alone until she reached a big clearing. It was at that time, that something within her began resonating with something that had happened far, far away out on the sea. Soon after, her memory cut off and she awoke in the hospital, her parents next to her bed, with immensely worried expressions on their faces. They told her she had slipped and hit her head, when she asked what happened. She knew that something was off and tried to pry more, but she didn't get an answer.
Thr truth about the incident in the woods was that the Behemoth inside her had resonated with the awakening of the Leviathan and in turn triggered a full transformation for Shirai. It had only lasted for a few hours, but in that time, she had devastated a huge chunk of forest and a small shrine. She had been unconscious for three whole days afterward, her body immsensely exhausted. She remains oblivious to this day.
When she returned to Aurora, her relation to her parents remained tense and she began skipping even more, not really giving a damn about anything. Things came as they had to and Shirai was ultimately forced to repeat her third year for skipping too many classes. This time around, she made sure to keep her skipping at a level where it wouldn't endanger her enrollment.
Now, near the end of her second third year, something is beginning to stir inside her once again...
