Three consecutive weeks of no sleep, Kari guessed, was probably not among the best things she could do with her body. On top of that, she hadn't been eating nor had she been meeting the apparent requirement of two litres of water per day. Hell, over the past three weeks she had probably only had about half a litre. Not that she was really keeping track. Actually, until just now she hadn't given it a second thought. Thinking of it now, doing so was probably a terrible idea considering -coupled with the sleep deprivation and lack of food- she was finding it hard to even speak English at this point. She couldn't even finish a sentence without starting to mutter in her mother tongue while she figured out the English word she was looking for. At least conversing with her brother wasn't a pain in the ass considering he was also part Korean. Still, as always she tried to avoid him as much as possible. That was something that would probably never change unless some miracle were to happen. Kari yawned as she basically stumbled down the hallway, staring at her class schedule trying to make sense of the blur of letters on the page. Usually she could read English as if it were her mother tongue but now it was like she was just learning again, a young child staring a a foreign language she didn't know. Growling once again in irritation, she shoved the slip of paper into her pocket. Fuck it. She couldn't read the schedule so she just wasn't going to attend. That would be a valid excuse wouldn't it? Probably not but she didn't really care at this point. She'd burn that bridge when she got to it. Kari's body had shit down before she had even hit the floor. If she had sustained any injuries, she wouldn't know until she woke up. If she woke up... Shai Trevelyn

It had been a fairly usual day for him. Not too busy, mostly headaches and stomach aches. A few bruises, to egos and otherwise. But all in all, fairly uneventful. At least until a red headed third year was carrying a girl in on his back. "Oh. Adrian? What is this then?"
"Found her in the hall like this, just passed out on the floor. People just kept walking by, but I didn't want her to get stepped on or something. So I figured she could just... Sleep it off in here?" The teen moved over to place her on one of the beds, just carefully sliding her off of his back. "Pretty sure her name is Kari? She's in my year... I think.."
The young doctor moved over to her, taking her vitals. Oh yeah, she was definitely out. "Well. Thank you Adrian. I can take care of her from here." The red head bowed dramatically before heading back to class, leaving the girl with the nurse. For now, he would hook her to an IV and let her rest. Granted, when she woke up she would probably spaz on him for there being a needle in her arm. But he would deal with that when she woke up. If she woke up.

To say that her forced rest was pleasant and welcomes was a massive overstatement. It was more like her floating in an endless void, so close to consciousness but unable to get close enough to wake up. There were times when Kari's consciousness almost surfaced, and she could hear the muffled voices of the outside world, feel the cool of the floor against her skin, and later the warmth of a body but she would always drift back into full unconsciousness, pulled back by voices familiar yet forgotten and the barely recognisable sounds of...screaming? The noises sounded so far away she couldn't tell. But there was something almost accusing about them. It scared her. The sounds of voices rose again. Speaking in English, a language she could no longer recognise at this point. 'Pretty sure her name is Kari? She's in my year... I think.' The voice sounded familiar again, though she still couldn't place a name on it. She stirred a little at a sharp sting in her arm but was inevitably dragged back towards the darkness, this time by voices in her mother tongue. Angry and accusing. She had forgotten the words as soon as they were spoken but she could tell the conversation...no, argument was about her. Familiar emotions filled her psyche. Hate, self loathing, sadness...then came the screams again. A man shouting his beloved's name in desperation, a son shouting for his father to stop and a shaken voice. 'Kari.... what did you do?'Kari woke with a start, shaking and feeling weaker than what she had before she decided to collapse in the middle of the hall. She muttered a string of profanities in Korean before catching sight of the needle sticking into her flesh. Instantly she froze at the sight of Satan's instrument of torture before speaking in Korean again, her voice strained and tired. "I manghal geos-eul na bakk-eulo ppaenae." She had barely even finished her sentence before she moved to rip it out if her arm. Shai Trevelyn

The girl awoke with a start and the young doctor looked over his glasses towards the bed she slept in. "Well. You're awake now." Though, he hadn't actually expected her to rip out her iv. He sighed and stood, grabbing a cotton ball and a strip of tape to put over her bleeding vein. "Here. To stop the bleeding. But, at least you're fairly hydrated now." He was prepared to fight her if she struggled, but surely she wouldn't want to keep bleeding. So he put the cotton ball over the wound and taped it in place. "I have some crackers if you are hungry. Otherwise, I suppose you could eat the sandwich I brought for lunch." He wasn't entirely sure that she could understand the words that were coming out of his mouth, so he just watched for her responses.

Kari placed a hand to her head as she tried to get back in touch with her surroundings now that she had finally been granted consciousness. She blinked a few times when another person in the room started speaking. She just looked towards him blankly, doing her best to translate the words but it just wasn't happening. She didn't bother to try and fight him when he approached her. There was no point. She was far too weak to even crush a fly right now and struggling against a whole adult would just be pointless and a waste of consciousness which was actually quiet precious at this current point in time. Exhaling shakily she rested her head on her knee, letting her eyes slide shut as he kept speaking. 'English...why does it have to be English... how did I forget an entire language?' After a bit of the equivalent of failed Google Translating in her head, Kari sighed and opened her eyes to tired slits. "Naneun neoleul ihaehaji moshae." I don't understand you.Shai Trevelyn
