The two kissed again and Kari swore that it was getting better and better each time they did. She had to admit that she was a little disappointed when they broke apart, but the fading sound of the final school bell reminded her of the time. No doubt a certain annoyance would be tearing through campus looking for her, despite how often she had told him to fuck off out of her life. Still, she wasn't ready to go just yet. She needed longer with Silas. Just a little longer in her embrace. A few weeks ago she would have been disgusted in herself for thinking this way, for letting her get so close to someone. But now...now she didn't care what her past self was thinking of her. All that mattered right now was this moment, and every other moment she would share with Silas from now. Silas Sinn

[attr="class","firelight"]Rebecca could sense something was up. There was a change in the mood of the room, a subtle melancholy feeling like the one a person might experience when they very much don't want to leave but also know that they have little choice in the matter. Rebecca found her grip tightening slightly on Kari, her mind racing with the dozens of thoughts and the single question she wanted to ask yet was a fair bit scared to. It took a few moments, but eventually the thought train boiled down to the realization of "What the hell am I waiting for?" which thus caused Rebecca to end up with a mental resolve in the phrase of "Fuck it."
If she was going to fuck anything up this was probably her only good chance to do so.
"H-hey... you wanna come to my house for a bit?" It was an awkward statement to be sure, and Rebecca felt her face heat up almost comically at the mention of it. She was expecting to get slapped, she wouldn't lie about that. Either that or some rather cruel statement about Rebecca being a pervert or something. It wasn't as though she was exactly going to deny that notion, but at the same time it probably wasn't a good idea to be called out as such by her new...
Rebecca's thoughts faded into silence as the gravity of what exactly had transpired over the last half hour hit her like a truck.
Well shit, she realized, I don't think I'm single anymore.

[attr="class","life"] ❝ Throw away my inhibition Tell me I'm not alone [attr="class","les"] S ilas' question was sudden and had caught Kari off guard. Part of her was laughing at how the question had sounded more like a five year old asking a friend over to play for the first time. The other half was practically screaming in joy while another was partly freaking out over how fast this was moving along. After all, this was only their second time meetng. But the again, that part of her was opposed as such. More like, she didn't want a certain someone to start meddling in her life more than what he already was. Then again, that was only a very small part of her. She really didn't care about what Kao thought or did. He could go die for all she cared. [attr="class","firelight"]Rebecca couldn't help but to laugh. "I highly doubt there's anything your brother could do to me that'd be worse than what I've already been through," she said simply, slowly releasing the embrace only to grab hold of Kari's hand to slowly lead her out of the music room, grabbing her own music folder off of the piano as she led the Empath out and into the school.
Avoiding people was something that Rebi had learned how to do rather well over her years at the Academy, and she knew just about every nook, cranny and half-secret passageway in the school that could be used to get to the fourth year parking lot without so much as passing any important landmarks in the school. When they got out, the lot was empty save for a single vehicle left standing, and the object in question seemed of dubious value considering Silas Sinn's background.
"One of the upperclassmen I was good friends with bought me this when I got my license, they said to take it as a soft of mix between a parting gift and a congratulations on finally being able to legally drive myself places," she explained, putting a little more emphasis on the word "bought" so as to accentuate that the rather lavish car was completely paid off. It was the type of car that one would be scared letting a grown adult drive, let alone a high school senior. Those that knew their cars could easily pick it out as a McLaren 570gt, stocked with all the factory features and in a pleasant crimson color, the symbol of an emblazoned H surrounded by the visage of an Ouroboros pressed into gold circlets on the car doors and on the license plate. The ouroboros in question seemed to have scales of knives, and judging by the design that surrounded it was also symbolized to be eternally burning.
Whoever Rebecca's friend was, they came from a rather powerful family indeed.
The interior was just about as florid as the exterior, with dark leather seats stitched with red seams, and the layout in the center console flared to life as Rebecca started the engine, the words "Welcome back, Silas" appearing briefly before the main interface came to replace it.
The ride to Rebecca's house was incredibly smooth, and strangely quiet save for the soft ambiance provided by the radio. After a few minutes they pulled into the driveway of a house that seemed far more fitting for Rebecca's assumed status of wealth. Luckily, it came with a garage so that the shapeshifter's impressive ride wasn't constantly out in the open, and as they pulled in Rebecca found herself finally able to revert to a fully human state.
Driving in her kitsune form was something that wasn't uncommon, but still rather hard to get used to.
"Well, here we are," Rebecca said sheepishly, getting a little bit self-conscious now that she was back home, and had somehow managed to get Kari with her. The garage around them was a little small, big enough for the McLaren but obviously not big enough for anything more.
The doors swung up and open another moment later, and the shifter just sort of sat there awkwardly for a few moments before slowly getting out, walking over to Kari's side and taking her hand once more before walking into the house.
I have no fucking clue what I'm doing but here we go.

[attr="class","life"] ❝ Throw away my inhibition Tell me I'm not alone [attr="class","les"] K ari happily took Silas' hand and followed out of the music room. "To be honest, I'm not sure there's really much Kao could do to you." Kao was a timid person most of the time, unless provoked. He was much more spirited during their childhood, but after the death of their parents and what he had witnessed, that spirit died out pretty quickly. If she cared about him, then she'd feel sorry for him. Kari was sceptical when she saw the lone car in the parking lot, even when she explained how she came into posession of it. For a highschool student to possess something that high value was just... "I'm almost scared to ask who your friend is."The ride was quiet, but not awkward. They had grown used to silence between them. If anything, it was calming. The contrast between Silas' house and her car was almost alarming, but made some sort of sense...in a weird way. When the other took her hand again, she couldn't help but miss her own home, despite the less than pleasant memories it brought. [attr="class","firelight"]"Almost?" Rebecca remarked, "Well, I guess I can see how it could. It's a fairly common style." She tried playing down the coziness of her house as she guided Kari through. The garage let out directly into the living room, which beheld a simple two-person couch (which Rebecca avoided properly naming as a loveseat), a rather sizable TV of approximately 48 inches, sitting atop a black TV center that also laid host to a single game console and several games sort of stacked up next to one side of it. Judging by the dust it was collecting it hadn't been used in a while. Between the TV and sofa there was a glass coffee table as well, a copy of the day's newspaper resting atop of it next to an empty mug that presumably once held coffee. The living room opened directly into a rather small kitchen, white tile and cabinets with fairly simple appliances nestled into a corner, and on the other side of the corner was a dining room with the essentials one would expect. Back off of the living room in the opposite direction was a bit of an opening that led up to the front door, the evening light filtering in through the gaps in the curtains that covered the window laid to dominate the wall besides the front door.
There was another hallway that split off where the living room and kitchen met, and at the end of it were a couple doors, the left-most one was cracked open slightly, and one could just barely make out a double bed as well as a fair bit of a mess that lay inside. From what Kari could easily see the bedroom window was slightly ajar, and the late afternoon light was filtering in softly through it. The door across from the bedroom was shut for now, but it didn't take much of a genius to figure out that it was probably the bathroom. No doubt it was probably only marginally cleaner than the bedroom, though given Silas' apparent tendency to switch genders at random one couldn't really be too sure.
Rebecca motioned for Kari to wait a second before disappearing into the bedroom, reappearing a couple minutes later in a pair of blue jeans, a black t-shirt, and decidedly male once more.
"Well, this is it," Silas said, only slightly proud with his newfound achievement. "Feel free to make yourself at home, cutie."

[attr="class","life"] ❝ Throw away my inhibition Tell me I'm not alone [attr="class","les"] K ari silently followed Silas around her home as she showed her around. She really did miss having her own living space. While the dorms on campus were enough to accommodate her needs, it lacked a 'homey' atmosphere. It felt more like a room with a bed sometimes, not the place she lived in. She was jealous of Silas for having her own living space. She followed the other into the bedroom, waiting as instructed while Silas disappeared for a moment, before reappearing as a member of the male variety. Heat rose to her cheeks at the sight and she looked away in a rather pathetic attempt to hide her flushed face. God she was pathetic.. "Usually I'd tell you to check your filter," She muttered, her voice just barely above a whisper. [attr="class","firelight"]Silas smiled again. That statement pleased him more than he was physically letting on. "That's a fair statement," he said simply, wrapping Kari in an embrace for a few moments before quite literally lifting her up and carrying her over to the couch, upon which he promptly sat down with her in his lap. The resulting reaction from Kari was doubtless quite spectacular. Silas was beginning to find that he rather enjoyed figuring out what exactly embarrassed her, so this was yet another experiment in that category.
Silas absently flipped the TV on, the volume low enough from when he had last turned it on that morning that it was little more than a soft murmur of words of whatever report was going on with the news.
This was... no, it'd been stated far too many times already just how incredible this was, to have Kari here with him. There was no need to restate things that'd been rehashed so many times already, despite how Silas couldn't stop himself from playing those thoughts on repeat every five minutes- or so it seemed. Either way, he had a pretty girl in his lap and he was not going to let this opportunity go to waste.
Silas found himself kissing Kari again before he himself could even properly register the reaction, his left hand supporting her back while the other struggled not to wander from where it rested beneath her knees. He had to admit, he could stand not being able to breathe for the rest of his life if this would be the resulting reward.
Part of him was really starting to think he ought to slow down before he wound up with more bullets in his body than there already were. Hell, he still hadn't managed to get those three rounds from out of his chest despite the fact that it'd been five damn years. Last thing he needed was Kari's brother putting a few more there.
Not that it'd make this any less worth it.

Kari instinctively returned Silas' embrace, not at all expecting him to pick her up. She let out a quiet yelp and her face flushed at least ten shades deeper as she wrapped her arms around the back of his neck out of reflex. The colour didn't fade when he sat them both down on the couch and casually turned on the TV. If anything, it deepened to the point that she was sure that she couldn't possibly blush any harder right now. She found that she was still having trouble processing what was happening right now. Just last week she was spewing out almost unhealthy amounts of hate and self-loathing and now here she was, sitting in someone's lap - whom she genuinely cared for in ways she didn't yet understand but also did at the same time - feeling things that she didn't think she was capable of. Silas kissed her again, and she instantly melted into his embrace, returning the kiss and tightening her hold on him. 'I could really get used to this...'Silas Sinn | WORDS: 174

[attr="class","firelight"]Silas didn't know how long they were like that, occasionally taking breaks for air before resuming the action at hand, but by the time they actually stopped the sun had officially set over the horizon, the only remaining light in the room being that provided by the TV as it ran commerical for the news station that had been playing in the background. Silas was a little surprised by just how much time had passed, but at the same time found that he didn't much mind either. Probably had something to do with Kari being here with him.
He took a deep breath before letting it out in a contented sigh, leaning back and resting his head on the back of the couch to pick out the endarkened details of the ceiling fan above them, its unmoving blades almost seeming to be frozen in time.
He vaguely wondered exactly how quickly rumors would spread about the two of them. Then he decided that he didn't very much care. She was his, he was hers. That was all there was to it, and so far that was all that really mattered. No rumors or half-truths would change that, at least not ones so easily spread. He supposed he it would be interesting though, to hear exactly what people cooked up to say about the two of them over lunch or in the corners and alleys of the school. It would give him a little more to entertain himself with, at the very least.
Would also give him more people to play tricks on that he hadn't already tormented, which was few in number the last time he made a list. He didn't much make lists for those things. Too much effort usually. Though he didn't believe Kari had ever actually suffered through one of his tricks. Probably seen one or two, probably heard about them. Never endured one, so he supposed that was a smart bit of karma right there.
Maybe. He didn't quite know yet.

[attr="class","life"] ❝ Throw away my inhibition Tell me I'm not alone [attr="class","les"] K ari honestly didn't want to stop kissing Silas, though when they didn't inevitably pull away, she was grateful to be breathing for more than a second. Still, she wouldn't be complaining if that was how she ended up spending the rest of the day. Speaking of... After the two broke away, she had only just become aware of how dark the room had grown, the only light present was the gentle glow of the tv behind her. What time was it? And just how long had they been kissing for, exactly? Shrugging away the thoughts, she decided that she didn't really care. Watching as Silas leaved back, Kari followed suit, leaning forward and resting her head against his chest, just listening to his heartbeat and matching her own breathing with the gentle rise and fall of his chest. They remained there for a while until the gentle buzz of her phone from inside her pocket jolted her out of her thoughts. There would only be one person who would be messaging her at this time of the day, and she sighed inwardly at the knowledge of it. She knew ignoring it wouldn't make it go away, but she didn't care about how worried her brother may be. And she didn't care about him. | [attr="class","goodness"] ✉ NOTES ✎ 0223 words |
