my sun...
The mission did not turn out the way anyone wanted it to. The last she had seen of Luka, he was...devastated. All his careful, meticulous planning and it all seemed to be for naught. This brother of his, Akira, was not even there. They moved him and nobody knew where. If anything, her heart broke for the feline boy. As to what she could do for, she hardly knew, but it seemed that right after that mission, everything turned into a disaster and everyone dispersed. She had not heard from the onyx haired boy or her classmates ever since and it worried her. To Erika, personally, things felt unfinished. Questions had no answers or vague ones at best; and more than anything it had left a bitter taste in her mouth any time she thought about it.
A sigh had escaped her pink lips as she made her way down the hallways of the Gryphon Wing chewing on a strawberry pocky. Her pastel pink fingernails had tapped against the walls while the other held a small bag filled with sweets and cake. It was hardly anything, but she figured that she could at the best check up on Luka and not show up empty handed. Something that she could do to ease any inner turmoil he might have been feeling. Cake was no replacement for the loss of his brother, but it was a sweet band-aid. Time, she figured, would probably have the most effect on him and would probably be the best healing factor.
It felt odd walking down these halls. It had almost given her a sense of taboo since she had not really come down these walls since she and Koda had first ran off to escape the rain on their first meeting. Her face flushed briefly at the memory and what had transpired in his room and she shook her wavy locks of hair and she continued down the hallway taking note of the room numbers that appeared on or beside each dorm door focusing on the task she assigned herself. She had passed by plenty of closed doors and a few open ones. She had wondered if some students went home during the summer just like at other schools. She knew that a few girls went back home for the summer. She had seen their parents or parent come and pick them up taking their suitcases and any of their other belongings that they wanted to bring back home with them while they relaxed for the summer soon to be gearing up for the next school year. A streak of jealousy coursed through her. She was bitter that she could not have that life. That tragedy had to strike her home at such a young age for her. That she had to grow up knowing that her mother was going to die before she could reach her teenage years or complete her milestones to adulthood and find herself. For the fact that the one parent that was still there was still lost to alcoholism and various addictions. Who never tried to talk it out or work things out. To a monster who used his own daughter as a punching bag. The currently doe-eyed girl hardly even noticed that a tear had slipped from her eye. She rubbed it immediately, careful to not mess up her makeup. It was no use crying over spilled milk. There would be plenty of time for her to have a pity party for herself. But right now, she was here to cheer up Luka.
Eventually, she had made her way finding Luka's dorm. Erika had given a few polite knocks before eventually calling out to the raven haired feline: "Luka? Are you there? It's me!~ Erika. I haven't heard from you recently so...I just wanted to check up on you." the half-Brit girl had paused waiting to see if she could hear a response from the other side. "Um...I brought some snacks...And cake...I'm worried about you Luka..." she had followed up softly. If he needed support, she would be there for him. Of course, she always considered his other siblings, but from the way that it seemed, he had not told his other siblings. The rising third year was not exactly sure just what in particular she could do to help him, but she did say she would, not just with this mission, but in general. If he needed help, he'd be there for her. Whether it would be a potentially dangerous mission that could get them expelled or just checking in on him while they ate cake. It was the least she could do to be a good friend and shoulder some of his burdens.
At least...I like to think so...Erika thought as she stared silently at the dorm door.
