精神病の愛 You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. TAG @callumblaine WORDS count here NOTES say something nice | The past is a fickle being, refusing to be forgotten memento within the sea of memories. Time to time sending small reminders in the form of flashbacks cruising down her brain. Smalls glimpses of images more like photos of events she wished to remember. It was doing the same thing right now, painful reminders, some comical to a point where it nearly made her lips creased in a tiny giggle. The calming sway of the midmorning spring sun blew past her. Rustling echoes from the trees below ground reached her sharp ears as Katya took in steady breath.
Up on a rooftop… of all places she found herself in. Her brother was going to have a conniption but strangely enough she found herself lacking the cause to care. She merely shrugged it off. Being up this high brought a strange sense of calm into her. She’s needing it these past few weeks. For some odd reason she felt restless, like small alarm bells continuously blaring within her head. Her stomach churned as anxiety settled in. Worried, she couldn’t shake off the feeling of dread that’s been biting at her heels for past week.
It’s still there, hiding through knowing how to poke her to make its presence known to her again if she dared tried to forget it. Because of this her sleep had been more problematic as of late. A tired yawn slid past the child’s pinkish lips. Her school uniform slightly ruffled from her laying on her back against the cemented roof holding the doorway leading back down the stairs. Her eyes closed for a moment. Relishing the peace the morning gave her. She was supposed to be in class. Music was it? Or math. She couldn’t remember which one was in her schedule but the girl couldn’t be bothered t attend now. Not when her head is threatening to have a meet and greet with her desk again. No it was better to skip and say she’s ill. Less irritating teachers that way.

[attr="class","sf_body"] [attr="class","sf_text"] For Callum, the roof provided a sanctuary, a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of the student life. If it weren't for the fact it was only mid-day, he would have found himself in a more relaxing place, perhaps the yoga room or even the tea room. But with classes in session, Callum was forced to scope out a new hiding spot, somewhere he could be alone to breathe a little fresh air.
During his time as a student, he'd discovered the roof was popular for its removed yet spacious environment. He'd never been the kid to hang out here in groups, rather he was often that odd, silent child that sat on his own for reasons unknown to his peers. After everything that had happened in the past two years, Callum found that being alone and being lonely weren't the same thing anymore.
He enjoyed his time spent in solitude, gathering his thoughts and occasionally delving back into the past. It was different than the all too familiar feeling of being the only person in the world.
Pushing the door open, Callum made a quick scan of the roof to ensure there were no lingering students. Of course, a quick word would be enough to send most of them running off, but Callum wasn't here to play 'hallway monitor'. Closing the door behind him, the TA slipped out of his jacket, tossing it over his shoulder carefully.
He was just meandering further out onto the roof when he halted. It was that gut instinct that crept up on him, tapping his shoulder fervently like a sixth sense. Callum had learned in the last few years to always look over his shoulder, you never knew who might be behind you, and it was always best to check before it was too late.
Casting a glance over his shoulder, the teacher was surprised to find he wasn't alone. The student perched on the door-roof didn't seem all that threatening, but they'd surprised him nonetheless. "Shouldn't you be in class?" Callum asked bluntly, giving the student a hard stare.

精神病の愛 You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. TAG @callumblaine WORDS count here NOTES say something nice | I wouldn’t be long now till she can taste the scent of the steam rolling of the dream train’s chimney as it rolled its way into the platform. Just a little more until she can finally taste the victory of sleep. But victory was the last thing she’ll be able to touch once the door creaked open. The girl far too gone in her own thoughts to notice a set of footsteps entering the silent grounds. The creaked of soles pounding softly against concrete.
She hadnt noticed it all if she had then she did a good job ignoring the noise. It hadnt even dawned on her that it might have been one of those hall monitors on a hunt or a teacher looking for stray students. Frankly sleep took top priority when she was this close to actually achieving a moment or two of silence. She was not going to---
A voice spoke directly towards her, nudging her to crack an eye open. It took only that moment for sleep to fled for its life, leaving the girl mentally cussing in a few selective languages. Irked was one way to describe the child’s mood when someone disturbs her chances in catching sleep within her grasp. Because of if she was damn sure it’s going to be a few more hours before she can get another chance to catch it off guard. Sighing she did eventually crack open her left eye, glancing down her blue orbs spotted one of the new teacher’s assistant standing below. At least she’s been hearing of a new one. He certainly wasn’t wearing the same student uniform she was wearing. The male’s version of the standard uniform minus the blazer which she had replaced for a comfortable cardigan. The child’s blank face barely betrayed any expression on the child’s façade except for the permanent boredom that seemingly sketched itself onto her face.
“Wasn’t feeling well…..” The child responded. Quiet to a point where the man might have to strain to hear her own words. A nagging feeling nudged at her mind, pointing towards the man as if to say she saw him before. He seemed familiar that was for sure but the girl…couldn’t exactly remember. She saw a lot of faces before.

[attr="class","sf_body"] [attr="class","sf_text"]Raising an eyebrow, Callum offered his watch a half-hearted glance. The last thing he wanted on his hour off was to escort some sick child to class, they were already twenty minutes late anyways, he didn't imagine any teacher would thank him for the interruption. "And the school nurse told you to come rest up here, did she?" There was definite sarcasm as he eyed the male student, neither phased or intimidated by the rather grumpy looks he was getting.
He was a teacher's aid, it wasn't his job to really be friends with the students, so it didn't really matter what they thought of him. Well... it mattered, but not if they were complaining about him doing his job. Rubbing the back of his neck, Callum offered a small sigh. "If you're going to skip class, couldn't you at least go to your dorm or...somewhere discreet? Resting in the sun isn't giong to do you much if you're not feeling well." It might give you a headache, or burn your eyes right out of your sockets.
Callum diverted his gaze, not quite used to this sort of 'kindness', if it could even be called that. He stuck to the rules, that was that. This was just a friendly....suggestion. The kid still had to go to class.

精神病の愛 You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. TAG @callumblaine WORDS count here NOTES say something nice | He... wasn't planning on dropping it wasn't he? The child thought. Half veered towards annoyance while the more sensible part that hadn't listened to her sleep depraved mind actually listened to him speak. Filling the words she needed instead of letting it slipped through the other ear. Was it so hard to wish for sleep nowadays? She mused, half tempted to let it slip through her lips but she held her tongue down. If she had been more aware she might have noted the guy was a teacher. A teacher finding her normally meant trouble in her books. Lack of sleep had a way with shifting what was important in her head.
Katya couldn't find her normal caring attitude towards it. She long lost that motivation somewhere down the line. The same blue orbs regarded the man with nothing but a blank stare response towards his comment. She waited till he was done, a nurse? She never really bothered going to the infirmary unless the time of the month comes rolling by in which she really did need to go. But right now? "...Why would I go to the infirmary for a minor headache?" She toned drawled out. Laced in a tone that described the child's growing boredom before it followed a yawn.
Sleep... that noon sun was so tempting. Perhaps an hour or two? She doubted the man would let her. Still that nagging feeling nudging at her brain wouldn't let her be. The longer she stared at the man the more insistent it grew. The familiarity leaking out of him in waves. Still she simply refused to touch the subject. It was better that way anyway. He doubted the man would recognize her anyway.

[attr="class","sf_body"] [attr="class","sf_text"]"If all you're suffering from is a minor headache- get back to class." His voice was void of sympathy, and Callum crossed his arms, clearly unimpressed at the boy's attitude. He might have excused a kid suffering from home-sickness, or even a student who general wasn't feel well to begin with. But this lippy student had gained none of his sympathy so far, and Callum found himself slipping back into his authoritative role.
"Getting out of the sun will help." He added, rather calmly as though the thought of the student disobeying him didn't bother him at all. It was the kid's choice in the end. But he would either be faced with Callum's penance stare, or an R.A monitor who may be less gracious about letting the kid skip class. "You should get some water when you have a chance."
Taking a step back so the kid had room to get down, Callum continued to gaze at them. In part, the man was trying to make eye contact, but he was also trying to recognize the face behind the dead-pan eyes. This student he definitely hadn't met, but there was an air of familiarity about them....they could have just had one of those faces.

精神病の愛 You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. TAG @callumblaine WORDS count here NOTES say something nice | She never insinuated she wanted his pity. The ‘boy’ had far too much pride for allow someone to offer her their pity. She never asked for it and she wasn’t planning on starting. The girl’s eyebrow twitched repeatedly on her forehead. Thumping against her skin with each word that slip past his lips. A sign that the girl didn’t find his comment amusing. Not at all. Maybe it’s how he formed his sentence that left a bad taste on the child’s mouth. Something about it rubbed her the wrong way. He made no move to hide the chill within his words. Sarcasm dripping thickly within each letter. She thought of responding in kind with the same level of hostility.
Thankfully her logical side didn’t agree with her plans on dissing a faculty member. But that didn’t mean she was going to listen to him right out of the bat. Despite the inching familiarity, his own words pushed those thoughts to the back burner. Curiosity replaced by annoyance as the child all but arched an eyebrow at his direction. “Why…would I bother when there’s only ten minutes left.” Her answer came out a bit more blunt than she intending. The man was asking for it by the way tone of his voice. He felt no pity, she felt none for him either way other than a tiny bit of annoyance at having sleep chased off by this man.
She really hated having her sleep disturbed. She mulled over her irritation, like a cat who grumpily got woken up midway through a nice nap. Another yawn, lazy blue orbs shifted back to him. Already the man was expecting her to go down judging from how he already took a step back. But the girl made no move to leave her comfortable perch. She wasted enough energy getting up here, it wouldn’t be productive for her if she would get down all because of a simple order.

[attr="class","sf_body"] [attr="class","sf_text"]"Because you're a part of this school, aren't you?" Students could be such brats. This academy, no, this entire place existed to teach them and to protect them from the other dangers out there. Was it so difficult to attend class in return? Didn't any of the kids realize how lucky they were?
His gaze narrowed dangerously, penance stare flaring to life. The last student to face his gaze had been mentally destroyed. Callum was still very careful around the girl, more so out of guilt than pity, but he was more careful not to use his gift against another student so readily, even if they were a brat.
"Show your teacher's some courtesy and show up for once." He wasn't sure where the 'for once' came from, perhaps the tedious repetition of having to give this same talk to students, over and over again. It was annoying. He almost wanted to go up there and drag the boy to class himself. Though Callum had probably harmed the student body enough for one week.

精神病の愛 You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated, I see the wires pulling while you're breathing. TAG @callumblaine WORDS count here NOTES say something nice | Katya bit her lip back, refusing to let the near instant retort trying to break free from her throat. She was a student, he had that right but being a student never stated she had to obey ALL of the given rules. Particularly when it came to classes. She sure didn’t give the expression of someone who cared for what else life tosses her way. That included grades, attending classes normally meant the person was concern about their educational future. Katya though showed no signs she ever thought of her future to that degree.
She’s more or less willing to follow the flow, she hadn’t been close to failing yet. Maybe she’ll attend tomorrow just to level the amount of absences she has. She thought. Mulling over the thought before pushing it back to the corner of her mind once he spoke again. Half of her attention went to listen to the boy while the other half sulked at her precious sleep being wasted.
She had close to an hour she could have use to catch up on her sleep but that half hour was being used in this conversation she had no will to continue on. Common courtesy dictates she followed normal customs in dealing with conversations. It’ll be rude if she left midway. Especially if that person happens to be a faculty member. Just her luck she had to be stuck with one. Thought… a thought did cross her mind. Why not agree with telling him a white lie about attending said class. It should be over by the next half hour. Or was ten minutes. The child didn’t have a good grip on time these days. “I showed up a few days ago. That should be enough.” She couldn’t resist the following retort trailing after his sentence. Neither could she stop the bite being added into her words. The man was doing a good job at inciting her loose temper. Lack of sleep never helped on her constant attempts at locking it back. Her temper often was short when she hadn’t had a single hour of rest. Normally she could hide by avoiding people. Now though…she cant really avoid people while holding a conversation with one.
The girl shrugged, leaping down from her perch she landed lightly on her feet with a small soundless thump. “I’ll go.” She said crisply, while mentally crossing her fingers at her back. She can always find another napping spot. Perhaps the one close to the forest.
