Science Courses
Year One Courses
Human Biology
Examine humans through the influences and interplay of many diverse fields such as genetics, evolution, physiology, anatomy, epidemiology, anthropology, ecology, nutrition, population genetics and sociocultural influences.
Astronomy
Study celestial objects and phenomena. It applies mathematics, physics, and chemistry, in an effort to explain the origin of those objects and phenomena and their evolution. Objects of interest include planets, moons, stars, galaxies, and comets; while the phenomena include supernovae explosions, gamma ray bursts, and cosmic microwave background radiation.
Year Two Courses
Chemistry
Organic chemistry is the study of the structure, properties, composition, mechanisms, and reactions of organic compounds. An organic compound is defined as any compound based on a carbon skeleton. Physical chemistry is the study of the physical and fundamental basis of chemical systems and processes.
Zoological Biology
Study the animal kingdom, including the structure, embryology, evolution, classification, habits, and distribution of all animals, both living and extinct, and how they interact with their ecosystems.
Year Three Courses
Immunology
Study the immune systems in all organisms, starting with humans. Touch on different viruses and bacteria and their structure and effects on organisms.
Thermochemisty
Study chemistry concerned with the quantities of heat evolved or absorbed during chemical reactions.
Year Four Courses
Epidemiology
Study medicine that deals with the incidence, distribution, and possible control of diseases and other factors relating to health.
Evolutionary Biology
Study the evolutionary processes that produced the diversity of life on Earth, starting from a single origin of life. These processes include natural selection, common descent, and speciation.
Non-Specific Courses
Astrology 101
Study the movements and relative positions of celestial objects as a means for divining information about human affairs and terrestrial events.
Geology
Earth science concerned with the solid Earth, the rocks of which it is composed, and the processes by which they change over time. Geology can also refer generally to the study of the solid features of any terrestrial planet.
