Throughout the time that he had spent outside, the man himself had been seemingly and completely absorbed within the conversation he had been spontaneously pulled within- and such a thing had only been easily and solidly supported with evidence through the form of the smiles and soundless laughs that he gave from beyond the restaurant's front and primary window. He shifted upon his heels from time to time; occasionally turning towards the window, and then swiftly away as the conversation took another turn, though was quick to return to his prior facing soon afterwards after another laugh or smile of amusement and interest alike. At some point, he had even crossed his free hand and arm across his chest within a pensive but curious manner as his smile only served to broaden upon hearing the next few remarks that his conversation partner had to offer to him. Yet again, he laughed, and had even taken care to lift the crossing hand up and upon his face as he shook his head in seeming disbelief, attempting to catch his breath before yelling into his phone again to reply to whoever had been on the other line with such vigor and intensity, yet friendly amusement all the same. Like he had done earlier, he turned around to face away from the window in the spur of the moment, making gestures to match with whatever remarks he had spoken on instinct and to emphasize his thoughts, and not even looking inside through the times that he faced the restaurant inhabitants.
...And then he did.
It began with a subtle decrease in activity at first. The lifted extremity ceased all forms of movement and gesture before gradually lowering and sliding itself within its corresponding pocket. While doing so, Corvou himself had nodded ever so faintly as he turned again, making it so that he faced directly across the sidewalk outside, and so whoever had bothered to look at him had a perfect profile view of his western flank. Contrasting rather greatly from earlier, the grin that he wore had shrunk- and even seemed less active and borderline thoughtful and possibly even wounded, as well. A few words escaped his lips from beyond the glass as he gave the woman on the other side of the call his eventual reply, finally peering into the Star with a hidden degree of thoughtfulness as he peered over at a particular, auburn-haired customer from a distance for a short while.
He averted his gaze after a few moments, his shoulders lifting and falling to indicate a sigh as he turned back around. Following the movement, he would have remained within the given position for a minute or two longer before he finally began walking back towards the entrance. Before long, the door opened once more, and after speaking a brief, "Sayonara," to the other person, he lowered his phone, smiling wistfully at the screen before ending his call. As he walked back over to take his seat, he kept his eyes upon the device for a little while more, his fingers swiping slightly as he navigated the apps to save the number of his most recent caller before finally putting the screen to sleep and sliding the phone itself into his pocket.
Once that was done, he gave a quick, from-the-corner glance over at Ishini - as well as her drink - before sighing and shaking his head. "Aha...sorry about that. ...Important call," he started off. Inhaling deeply, he rolled his shoulders and placed his hands on the counter again before sighing the breath out. "Been a while since I last talked to the person, so...I had a lot to catch up with her about."
