[attr="class","howlingstorm"]Thunder cracked across the rooftop as a body blasted across it, slamming harshly into the metal fence on the other side as electricity arced off the fabric of the male student's uniform every few moments. The air buzzed and sparked with electric excitement as the sounds of lightning crackling and flesh impacting violently against flesh consumed the rooftop. One by one three more unconscious forms joined the floor with the first before a fifth and final was sent smashing into the ground, the concrete cracking sligjtly with the soul's bones as the fourth year girl in the center of the pandemonium slammed her iron-clad right fist into his chest, a boom signalling the impact and subsequent use of her secondary power. Lightning arced violently and rapidly off of her form as she slowly stood from laying down the brutal beatdown, her eyes almost glowing with white-hot radiance as blue sparked and twisted in the space around her.
Her name was Ishini Mazuka. Violent, ruthless, and the most hair-tempered person on campus if the rumors were to be believed. Tears stained her cheeks, the heat from the electricity evaporating new ones before they even had the chance to properly form. She took a moment to catch her breath, flexing her right hand and feeling the bones shift unusually. She'd fractured something. Better than breaking at least. She let out a sigh and dropped to her knees as she felt her anger subside. That'd teach them to speak like that about her. About him. The memories that surged up stabbed her chest, bringing up a well of pain and anguish that she didn't have the energy to deal with properly right now. She laid back, resting on the concrete of the roof and watched the clouds roll by overhead. The sky was too blue. Too cheerful for the day she was having.
One month.
Had it really been that long? It felt like it was yesterday that she and him were walking side by side, like only hours had passed since she'd foolishly ended it all
I'm such an idiot.

No way in Hell I'm losing the next dance battle.Another day; another lunch period; and, last but not least, another chance for him to practice various choreographies and even freestyle dances while the time lasted. By virtue of school still being in session, he was clad primly and properly within the fourth year's uniform, though wore his normal, snapback cap upon his head, all while beginning to adjust a pair of elbow-length gloves over his hands and forearms alike. With his eyes kept upon the ascending path before him as he walked rather leisurely up the steps to the top floor of the building, the man nodded his head in tune to the music flowing through a single one, courtesy of an earbud lodged securely, comfortably, and rather snugly inside of it. The other had been tucked beneath the shoulder of his inner shirt long before he had begun climbing the steps. Halfway up the stairs, however, he paused as he heard a faint commotion, seemingly coming from the very location that he was headed towards. Silver voids of his drifted upward as his head tilted to follow suit, and he merely glared up at the few, railed floors above him before narrowing them slowly. ...If it's those guys bothering that boy I found again, someone's getting a one-way trip to the hospital, he mused to himself. Ending that last thought, he flexed his hands and adjusted the duffel bag over his shoulder and back, starting up the stairs at a suddenly brisker and generally serious pace, skipping every other step in order to speed his venture above. In record time, he reached the last few steps from the rooftop entry's platform, though found himself freezing for a second time as he listened. A shock seemed to ring through the space beyond. He could see it, too. A small flash of seemingly electrical energy, just beyond the glass of the door in front of him. Blinking, the tension that he felt in regards to his earlier assumption gradually began to falter and fade, and he closed his eyes briefly. Both of his hands slid into his pockets as he bowed his head temporarily, breathing a soft sigh as he continued towards the door anyways. Rather than using his hands to open it, he merely leaned down a little bit, choosing to turn the hook-style knob by lifting his foot against the top of it and pushing it down, kicking it open for the rest of his body to fit through in the process. With the revelation that he came across just seconds later, he couldn't quite say that he was surprised to see the few bodies laying around across the cement top as he initially saw them. He was concerned for their well beings, of course. With that last shock, though? He was far from shocked himself. Gazing around curiously, he gently and carefully wove through the few boys that lay unconscious, casually setting his bag down against the fencing just a few yards from one of them before settling his sights upon a particular girl in the distance as she lay upon her back. He stared at her for a few moments, hesitant, before ultimately giving a quiet sigh and silently approaching her. Striding over to her, he stopped a fair distance away from her as if actively trying to keep his distance- even if that was the farthest thing from the truth. "...You could've at least toned it down for them," he said simply and calmly, giving her an amused, yet very small smile all the while.

[attr="class","howlingstorm"]Her day just got a bit worse.
Ishini cursed under her breath at at the sound of the all-too-familiar voice. Her chest tightened, and images flashed behind her eyes that threatened to set her onto crying once more.
Like hell was she letting that happen. She didn't need him to see her crying, not anymore. What was between them was over, dead, charred and electrocuted so many times it still twitched with the residual energy. She dearly wished for it to stop twitching though, for every time it did she was reminded of the entire three years they had spent together, and each time it took her a moment to catch her breath.
Electricity arced along the skin of her left arm, though whether residual from just how charged the air was or of her own discharge it was hard to hell. Even at the distance he was Corvou would be able to sense the buzz in the air, the way his hair stood slightly with the static. The Storm let out a grumble and a sigh before sitting up again, wincing not at the pain but at the feeling of the bones in her right arm shifting in ways she knew they weren't meant to shift in. On second thought, maybe she dislocated something. Her elbow was still in its socket though, so she figured it may just be the cracks rubbing against one another. Not entirely broken, persay, but not whole either. She figured she'd stop by the nurse or something and get healed up when she was finally done here.
Which would be soon, or so she hoped. The less time she had to spend around Corvou Dracul Ryusaki the better. Not even she knew what she would end up doing if she was allowed too much time alone with him. The thought sent a silent bolt of electricity down her back, though much to her dismay it wasn't an unpleasant one.
It's over, Ishi. Get that through your damn skull, she berated herself silently before finally speaking to the ex-boyfriend in question.
"Toning things down isn't something I do," she said matter-of-factually. She had a mental itch to get up and start walking away, but her legs weren't co-operating with the order. Silence enveloped the air around him at first; the original reply that he had slated for the most part after her own response towards his statement. In most others instances and with any other person, he would have followed up with much thought and little shame or hesitation whatsoever, and with a broader, friendlier smile nonetheless as he was given the chance to interact with another person. However, this moment wasn't quite like the others. His hands shifted slightly in his pockets as he mentally gathered his thoughts, absentmindedly keeping his gaze solid upon her form all the while, even if he himself wanted to look away for at least a few seconds in order to make his own, internal thoughts overly obvious. He found himself unable to help it, though, as all he could do was think. Eventually, he managed to drag himself from the mental rut and trench that he had ungraciously thrown himself into, and such a thing was externally shown by the way he inhaled deeply, held the breath taken in within his lungs, and exhaled it outwards within a strong, seemingly alleviated manner soon afterwards. Despite the small, concerning feeling and disturbance that lingered within his chest temporarily, he simply did his best to brush the matter aside for the meantime and ignore it. After all, ignoring his troubles was what he did best in any and all perspectives and matters. "Of course. That was always your style, after all," he chuckled softly with a nod. Tilting his head to gaze upon the sky spread across the heavens above the two of them, he merely picked the sights among the clouds before slowly sitting down, though didn't take the moment to look over at her all the while for her own, emotional benefit- as well as a little bit of his own, admittedly. "...It's kind of a lie, though. At first you never toned down, yeah, but...there were times that you did. Rare times, but...times that still happened."He spoke those words somewhat flatly; not in an offense manner at the least, but rather...distantly. As if his mind was wandering somewhere else as he spoke and acted as he did. Eyes of shining silver continued to scout the skies up high for a few moments; a minute, even, as he allowed the quiet thoughtfulness to return once more. After a fair bit of time, however, he tilted his head to gaze through the fencing directly in front of him in an equally distant manner for a little while. Soon after, he turned his head ever so slightly, finally giving her his eyes and full attention as he peered at her for the first time since sitting down. "...Did you break it again?" he asked, nodding and gesturing towards her arm softly.

[attr="class","howlingstorm"]She closed her eyes, irritation flooding her senses as she set her jaw. Of course he would say that. Corvou always did have a way of saying the dumbest shit sometimes. She didn't bother responding to his first bit of statements, rather waiting a bit longer until he made the comment she knew was coming. As usual, he was wondering if she'd broken her arm again.
Fucking idiot, couldn't he just leave her to wallow in her damn regret alone?
"Fractured, and why the hell do you care?" she responded sharply, a spark cracking off to the left of her head almost to echo her outward aggravation. She almost hated using such a tone with him, but similarly reminded herself that if she didn't use the tone she did that she would end up speaking to him softly, almost as though she were still allowing her to give a damn about what he felt towards her.
She did, of course, she just preferred to force herself to not. It was better that way. Easier to force herself into hating him that way, or so she thought. If anything it was an uphill battle that she was slowly losing. That was yet another thought she didn't care to much to think on. She took a moment before standing, putting a bit more dependency on her left arm as she attempted to keep her right moving as slow as she could. Two strikes weren't enough to break the bone, but they tended to bring it pretty close. Any heavy blow would snap it, as would another blast from her Megaton Punch.
Again though, she preferred not to let him see her do much of anything in the way of hurting or- worse yet- crying. Unfortunately for her she still hadn't managed to get over her bout of tears from before those dumbasses came up and started mocking her, throwing around Cor's name a few times like they knew him or even remotely gave a damn about what the two of them were... had been to each other. She made the mental amendment with a silent curse at herself for slipping up and forgetting even after so much time had passed.
She shifted her footing slightly as the air began to calm down, the Storm instinctively sensing the reduction of residual electricity in the air, which was slowly reducing the number of sparks and various electrical arcs that danced around her form as she stood.
It was better than nothing, at least, or so she told herself [newclass=.howlingstorm::-webkit-scrollbar]width:4px;background-color:#2a2c2e; border: 1px solid #2a2c2e;[/newclass] [newclass=.howlingstorm::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]width:4px;background-color:#e68c19; border: 1px solid #2a2c2e;[/newclass] [googlefont=Russo One] [googlefont=Orbitron]

Truth be honestly and bluntly told, he knew. He knew Ishini's demeanor like the back of his hand. He knew that she would have likely reacted to her question as she did before he even asked it. He knew that all he'd be met was a bout of volatile tones and harsh responses, and he was prepared to endure it once more. ...Yet at the same time, he apparently wasn't. Upon hearing the certain degree of annoyance and sharpness within her tone, his internal thoughts and assumptions were easily and immediately confirmed, and he breathed a soft sigh as the smile gradually faded from his lips, only to replaced by a noticeably emotionless expression altogether for the most part. Watching as she began to stand up - and with some level of difficulty nonetheless, it seemed like - he turned a little bit while still sitting down in order to keep hiis line of sight upon her. Narrowing into slits, silver voids of his would have attained a spontaneously hardened spark and glare within them; a fire of the patience that was miraculously beginning to be worn down at long last. I'm trying my hardest... I hope you know that... he thought to himself at first, clenching and gritting his teeth within a stressed fashion as he continuously glared up at her. I'll do my best to cope with this. I'll even bear with talking with you, knowing that you're not mine anymore. If you don't want to be mine, then I'll accept that- but I know why you're pushing me away... I'd be an idiot not to know by now.As those thoughts crossed his mind, he, too, stood up, though stood simply in the same location that he had previously sat within for the moment. The air around her may have calmed down, though things could have more or less just beginning to burn up just a small distance away. "You know damn well why I'd care," he growled back almost immediately, his tone uncharacteristically as sharp as her own- if not even frighteningly more so, especially given the shift in his own voice. Patience was a virtue; a thing that Corvou was lucky to have immense amounts of, but even he found that it grew less and less over some times and experiences, even if it took years to wear it down. Walking forward a little bit, he tilted his head as a flash of jade seemingly reflected itself over his eyes before returning to their normal, common silver moments afterwards. "Look, I know that whatever caused everything back then to happen - even if I honestly don't know your motives even now - is pretty hard on you - Hell, it's hard on me, too - but for fuck's sake...! Stop forcing it out so damn much...! I'm fine if you genuinely, really hate me - even if I don't know what the fuck it is I even did - but don't you dare ask me why the fuck I'd care like you were playing stupid."

[attr="class","howlingstorm"]Ishi narrowed her eyes at the drake, a flash of jade cracking in the air to her right at the same time that the same color would flash through Corvou's eyes, though she didn't seem nor care to notice either. Her eyes held a bit more light in them than usual, and she momentarily forgot about the fractures in her right arm as she let out a low growl, more of a warning than anything.
"You damn well know my reasons, don't act as though you don't." Her mind was racing, but the words brought back the reason she had ended it. The memory coming up vividly as though it had just happened...
The rain fell hard on the sidewalks as Ishi wandered through the streets of Silver Falls, an umbrella clutched in one hand as she enjoyed the cool crispness the air brought with it. She'd told Corvou she was taking this walk, hopefully to ease whatever worries he may end up having fostered if she was a little late coming back. She always ended up a little late on these things.
What was distinctly different this time was the half-dead boy she was dragging along behind her.
His name was Raul Hitchcroft. He was taller than she was, about 5'8" to six feet at the very least. Tanned skin, green eyes, black hair. By all accounts he was rather handsome in his t-shirt and jeans, but what set Ishi's blood on fire was the tattoo that dominated the entirety of his right arm. It was a coiled dragon, its tail wrapped tightly around the shoulder as it curled around and around the arm down to rest its head atop his hand, the letter HWM printed on the inside of his forearm. It boiled her blood and caused her own arm to itch almost uncontrollably.
And he had been standing just outside of the house she shared with Corvou. Well, not directly outside in the open. More like he was pulling the classic mantra of hiding in a car and getting out silently to try and follow her. Unluckily for him, it was going to end up as a thunderstorm according to the weather forcast.
And also according to Ishi's own weather radar. There was a good deal of electricity in the air, and as a result she'd been able to pick up on his bio-electric field the moment he got out of the steel box he'd kept it in. He'd tailed her until she purposefully turned onto an empty street, stopping a quarter of the way in and slowly turning around to greet him.
It hadn't ended well for him, obviously, though the conversation before she'd damn near killed him rang in her mind as loudly as a gunshot.
"I thought I told Demetri not to send you idiots after me," she'd said.
"Yes, well. Things have changed. He wants you back by any means." Those words could've meant anything. Kidnapping, extortion. A whole host of unpleasant things sprang to mind.
"If he lays one damn finger on my family-"
"Oh no, no, no. He remembers that, we ALL remember that. You made quite the show on your exit, Stormy. No, it's not your family that he'll use."
Ishi knew instinctively what that meant. They wouldn't use her family. She'd made it clear that they were off limits.
But Corvou...
She knew he could take care of himself, but Demetri wasn't some standard gang boss. He had connections. He had powers. She couldn't let him send the higher ranking members of the Highwaymen after Corvou. She wouldn't put him in danger.
The despair she'd felt upon realizing the only choice left to her had been the final nail in Raul's coffin. He'd died where she dumped him, and only minutes after she left.
Ishi shook her head out from that memory, her eyes refocusing on the situation at hand. He wouldn't know. He couldn't know. If she told him he'd just go after Demetri on his own, to try and show them that they couldn't mess with him. She couldn't tell him, couldn't let him know in the slightest what her reasons were. So she contented herself with knowing that he was going to stay alive. Alive and out of harm's way. That would have to be enough for her.
"You're such a fucking idiot," she mumbled.

"..You think I know...? You really think that I fucking actually know?"His tone was drastically different by then. Rather than the distantly emotionless demeanor that crept and stalked beneath his very words and presence before the most recent responses that he was given, an abruptly loud growl was heard within his voice by then; an obvious and clear indication of how much he had been growing annoyed and stress day after day since everything else had occurred. On one hand, he spoke the pure, legitimate truth. If she hated him and gave clear reasons as to why she did, then he would have been fine with her leaving. He would have mourned the according amount, and although he would have felt a sharp, metaphorical blow to his chest every single moment that he managed to catch a glimpse of her past that day, he would have gathered himself as much as he could and tried to make the best of it. But since she just said a poorly-explained goodbye without much else? That was enough to make him a bit irked, to say the least. "An idiot I may very well fucking be, but slit my throat and leave me in the deepest fucking ditch you can if I'm not pissed by this as much as you're fighting it," he practically yelled, his voice echoing for the first time in a rather long time within a borderline rage; something that he had managed to shield away from her, too, during their time together. "If you have a least a shred of respect for me left, then just-..."His voice boomed with those trailing words, and he actually had to take a moment to pause and take a second to breathe and calm himself down, clenching his hands after they had instinctively slid themselves from their pockets and waved around in front of him mid-speech; something that he hadn't been quite aware of even until that point. With an obvious, sparking flare within his eyes by then, he pulled one of his hands around, brushing it roughly through his hair - which was down for once, and had been ever since he found a lack of motivation to bother styling it since that day - in an at the time unknowing way of expressing his inner stress. "...I just-... I wanna know. Actually know," he continued on after a brief period of thought. The glare in his eyes was still fully apparent - coupled strongly with the almost malicious and anarchist glint within them - though his expression altogether seemed to have faltered when he had begun to talk, shifting from downright livid to livid with a slight side of sorrow; the latter able to be noticed through the faint quirk beneath his scowl to keener eyes. Although still loud and shrouded within an utmost sense of been equal parts rage and equal parts desperation alike, his tone lowered ever so slightly as he gave a low, growling, and grumbling sigh of stress. "...I at least deserve to know that much. Don't I?"

[attr="class","howlingstorm"]He did. She knew that. She'd known that from the very beginning.
Ishini almost seemed to shrink at Corvou's words, whatever once-brilliant glow she had now dimmed into nonexistence. She almost seemed to fade as well, the wear of the last month now showing plainly in her form as she turned her head away from Corvou. Tears stung her eyes, and her shoulder slumped. She didn't know what words to say, or how to say them. She didn't know how she could say anything without him jumping after Demetri and his goons. She wanted him SAFE, not dead. She wanted to see him alive, happy, and not having to worry about whatever she was going through.
She was silent for a long time, passively manipulating the air around her to increase in electric intensity. She had a technique she'd been working on. She didn't like running, but at this rate she'd break down and wouldn't have any more resistance to keep herself from telling him how she felt. How much she'd hurt having to force herself to tell him goodbye, how badly she wanted to tell him.
She opened her mouth, and closed it again. She knew he'd be angry, and the electricity in the air reached the level she needed it to be at before she opened her mouth, though the sparks and arc of electricity that were created were slow and lazy. It took entire seconds for a single arc to take place, and the shocks themselves seemed extremely docile. Almost as though they'd given up, devoid of any more fight they had within them.
"I..." Tears continued to sting her eyes, and her shoulders shook as she grit her teeth to keep from sniffling or sobbing. It just hurt so damn much. Dark clouds began to roll in on the once completely sunny day, and a few tears fell from Ishi's face down to the ground. She couldn't do this anymore. Couldn't act like it was all right, couldn't keep pushing him away.
But she had to.
So she did the only thing she could.
She ran.
Her form seemed to blur, a faint after image the only remaining trace of her presence as a single jade bolt of lightning shot straight up into the air, blasting off of the roof behind Corvou before bolting back down into the parking lot below, where Ishi rematerialized in her full form. She sprinted as fast as she could off campus, stumbling multiple times before just barely catching her balance.
She could deal with nursing her fractured arm herself.
Tears streamed down her face as she ran, and ran, and ran. Until finally she couldn't run anymore, and collapsed in an alleyway in the downtown area of Silver Falls.
Then she cried. She let it out, all the pain and anguish that she'd been forced to keep hidden ripped through the night behind a crack of thunder and the desolate, lonely howl of a wolf off in the distance.
A car pulled up to the alleyway after a half hour, and three men got out as Ishi shifted her gaze to them. Her tearstained cheeks and bloodshot eyes the physical scars of her agony as her face contorted in rage. Electricity rapidly built up as the storm surged around them.
A bright flash, and the rumble of thunder were the last things those men ever saw.
And thanks to the storm, nobody would ever be the wiser.
