POWER DESCRIPTIONS
Illusionist---
By sole virtue of this power being illusion formation and manipulation, Serena is capable of producing various images of all sorts of things at will- though she often chooses to make projections of her own Tulpae, rather than other things unless she felt threatened.
To clarify from the start, a Tulpa is basically another personality and being that a person creates through traits along the lines of willpower, discipline, and other things. With enough thought and dedication, a person can successfully create a Tulpa; another person that resides within a host’s body and lives through them both literally and metaphorically like any other normal person. A Tulpa maintains its own personality, as well as its own thought process, dreams and aspirations, and other things of the sort. Most hosts create and form a bond with a Tulpa as a means of creating a sort of ‘friend’ for themselves; another being that they can treat with care and kindness, and, in turn, can receive care and kindness right back. Due to her personality and how she only really wants companionship and to be cared for, it’s safe to say that this is the sole reason and motivation that Serena holds for creating various Tulpae to serve as her own family, in a way, despite the fact that none of them truly exist.
This power of hers, while ultimately harmless, primarily allows other people around her to see these Tulpae as she sees them herself, as it’s impossible for anyone excluding her to see them on a normal basis since they’re practically a part of her own mind and thoughts. Overall, though, this is really the extent of what this power in specific can do, even if she chooses to project something other than her Tulpae companions. As is part of the Tulpa creating process, Serena can feel the touch of one of hers when they make contact, but the Tulpae themselves will be unable to touch other people. They can make gestures towards them and even talk freely with them, but if one were to seem like they’re putting their hand on another person other than Serena herself, the person would feel nothing.
Due to her fear of directly talking to someone, she has been known to use her Tulpae to talk to others for her sometimes.
Summoning (Ice Elemental)---
Honestly, you know how this one goes. She can summon things that are specifically made out of ice since that’s her corresponding element. As of now, she’s still working on getting better with this power, so larger things and humanoid-esque shapes are a no-go right now. On a normal basis, she tends to make smaller animals like dogs and cats to interact with and treat like pets when she’s lonely, but if she needs to be defended, then she’ll make reasonable predatory animals like wolves, select wild cats, or other things of the sort.

APPEARANCE
Overall, Serena’s appearance is seemingly the embodiment of a rather quiet, shy, and sometimes seemingly stoic type of girl in both basic appearance and gestures alike. While she is of primarily Italian descent and blood, her skin is fine and lighter toned, though is immensely scarred from her past, and, alongside that, is quite easily bruised when it suffers from even the lighter forms of forced contact upon her body. Her eyes are a bright, lively hue of sky blue - despite the fact that she herself is far from the lively and spontaneous type of person - while her hair is of a pure, golden blonde coloring. While a little bit on the shorter side, her hair is styled in such a way that casts bangs evenly over her eyes, and the hair fringing on the left side of her face is grown out just a little bit longer to the point where it could be tucked behind her ear. Still on the left side of her head is a single ponytail, as well, and is seemingly held together by a small, light, and grassy green bow. Her general form overall is rather small, thin, and delicate-looking, as she stands at a height of only five foot one and weighs in at one hundred and seventeen pounds altogether; a weight that’s appropriately within her suggested weight zone, though one that gives her a thinner form altogether.
As far as her common attires go, she always dresses modestly, and her wardrobe tends to be white for the most part; seemingly as if symbolizing some sort of purity, but that’s for the people that close read into things too much. Often times, she wears a simple, white dress - with a pair of black shorts for safety reasons that shouldn’t really need to be explained - as well as a pair of black boots. When she’s not wearing this general attire, she can be seen wearing other simple types of clothing among the broad category of ‘casual wear’.

PERSONALITY
One key factor to know about Serena is how she’s selectively mute as a result of the amount of trauma that she endured throughout her life. Due to various forms of that trauma, she’s capable of speaking, but will be selectively mute for fear of talking, among many, many other fears, and would likely only use her own voice when she's either comfortable enough to do so (READ: it would take a very, very long time for her to be comfortable enough to do this), or in events where speaking would be necessary, meaning she'd also use her voice for school purposes, and if she felt she was threatened in an excessive manner. In either case, though, her voice would most likely be very quiet, and she'd have an extremely prominent and shy stutter.
She's extremely shy and sensitive to others' comments in general, and would probably be the type to flinch if you rose a hand at her on pure accident. Her persona is highly independent in the sense that she's somewhat of a broken loner type, but at the same time, it's also highly dependent on the kindness and even the existence of others due to the fact that, in the long run, all she really yearns for is the company and appreciative nature of others to the point where she could call them friends. It'll take an extremely long while to earn her trust, as her history caused her to build many walls in attempt to protect herself from any further emotional and possibly even physical trauma, but once it's earned, her trust and care would rival the strongest bond, and you'd best assume that he would definitely put her future friends' well beings above her own in order to make them happy and smile, just as much as they had hopefully done for her. If her trust was ever betrayed, she'd be completely broken and reclusive into her own mind, and would be generally distant all over again.
Because of how rarely she talks, no one would be able to guess her likes, dislikes, and hobbies unless they had sharper observance skills, but there are two things above all that she'll enjoy doing: writing and participating in music. These two things will be her primary outlets, as well as her practical world; writing in the sense that she holds the ability to create her own worlds and internal, alternate lives for her to escape in at will, and music in more of an emotional sense that allows her to let go of her worries in a simple melody. She knows how to play a couple of instruments because of curious dedication - specifically the violin and guitar - but the golden thing is that, despite how rarely she talks overall, she knows how to sing quite well. It's extremely rare to catch her singing, however, as she only ever does so when she knows that she's alone, and if someone ever managed to hear her, then she would immediately withdraw and go quiet as soon as she realized.

BIOGRAPHY
we have another tldr version since this was really overdue woops
“She was strong. You know that? She was strong, and then you came along. You killed her.”
So all in all, Serena’s lived a pretty shitty life. Born on March thirteenth about sixteen years ago, she never knew her mother, Celestina de Felice-Romano, because she actually died while she was being born. Because of that, her father, Luca Romano, blamed her for his wife’s death and basically went on to take his frustrations out on her for the entirety of her life with him. Throughout the days which went on into months and years, she had to endure her father’s physical and emotional abuse towards her because of this hatred. At first, she tried meekly talking out against him and questioning why he did what he did, but after finding violent reactions to this, she ended up becoming instinctively and selectively mute for fear of what would happen if she talked any more without permission or prior urging. Rather than using her vocal words to cope because of this, she often turned to other, self-oriented activities such as music and writing in order to allow her troubles to be gradually yet faintly flooded out. She began partaking within writing stories and poetry alike in order to escape her own reality in a way and into the realms of her own mind where she could temporarily not have to worry about the next condemnation or the next beating that her father had spontaneously in store for her. Alongside this, she also began singing to herself in her free time; primarily in moments of immense stress in attempt to calm herself down and convince herself that she would ultimately be fine. It was through this that she discovered her talent for tunes and melodies, though because of the fact that she had been too sheltered and frightened to engage within social scenarios by then - as well as the fact that she pretty much couldn’t, since her father always forced her to come straight home after school - she never had the opportunity to gather a late sense of development and sense of social comfort, which explains why it remains at a complete and solid stop to this day.
The saddest thing through it all would probably be the fact that, despite the definite amounts of abuse that he put her through, Serena still loved her father. After each and every beating, she still loved him. After each and every shouting session, she still tried to impress him the next day. Still came running back to him, even while knowing he’d be disgusted by her. Tried to make him proud; tried to make him acknowledge her in something other than a negative light. When she was young, she brought him pictures and small stories that she wrote for him in hopes to gain his affections. As she grew older, she turned to song-writing and other things like that in order to try to at least slide into his heart and gain the love that she should have received as a daughter from the very start.
All of them were done with no avail.
It continued onwards, the attempts growing fainter and fainter as she gradually realized that, no matter what she tried, she’d never be able to change his mind. The attempts grew less, yet in turn, it seemed as if the abuse simply grew more and more with each feeble attempt that she made to give him a new perspective- though she never quite stopped altogether, and motivated herself to try once more every so often before stopping again for the next month or two when she was met with the same reactions that she had grown painfully accustomed to. It was a constant cycle that repeated itself over and over all throughout her life, and to add insult to injury, Luca had eventually decided to place an annual trip somewhere in order to forcibly shove the reality of his feelings towards her even further into her mind and soul alike.
That trip always took them to the cemetery.
Specifically to none other than Celestina’s grave.
The two of them mourned each and every time, and as they stood in front of her grave, Luca made it a routined habit to come up up with a new speech or subtle monologue to insult Serena even more. Many times, they would stay in the city where her grave was for a day or two while only staying at the gravesite itself for no more than half an hour as they took turns to pay their own respects. Whenever Serena had finished, she was always ordered to remain silent to do the same, and before they left, then came Luca’s little monologue of both respect towards his wife, as well the condemnation of his daughter before they returned to whatever hotel they chose to stay at for that visit. Often times, neither got any amount of sleep, however, due to how Luca also made it a recurring thing to vent his stress and sorrow out through yet another beating towards the end of the night.
Some may ask why and how no one ever caught him in the process- and in the middle of the night, nonetheless. To be frank, it was because of one simple rule and reason that had been wordlessly expressed to Serena.
The more she screamed or cried, the harsher he would be.
She simply learned how to keep her mouth shut on a normal basis and in harsher scenarios because of that.
This was another thing that repeated on and on, ever since Serena was about seven or eight years of age- and something that she’s honestly kept doing ever since coming to Aurora Academy despite the fact that her father and his demands have nothing to do with her anymore. When she had turned fourteen - just two years after she had discovered her illusion-based powers and had begun using them in secret to hold conversations with her own tulpae - her general scenario was finally found out during a day in junior high. Despite having taken extreme care not to let others see the wounds and bruises she had obtained, her PE teacher managed to catch a glimpse of the lower portion of her side while she was changing- which was a something that was hard to do in itself since she never quite changed by taking one shirt off and exchanging it for the next; partially out of self-consciousness, and partially out of fear of what her father would threaten to do to her if rumors about what he was doing began spreading in a short amount of time. Lucky for her, however, the initial, wildfire rumors among the students were negated since it was a teacher who saw the bruise. In fact, it literally just skipped over the rumors and straight to a questioning with her father, which was then followed up by an eventual arrest. Truth be told, Luca is still in jail to this day for his offenses.
While Luca was arrested, Serena, on the other hand, was put into regular therapy sessions of both physical and mental means alike, though it was the latter that seemed to scar her the most due to how much she was forced to actually realize and recall. There were times when she managed to force a few words out to describe what her life had been like, as well as how she dealt with her problems by talking with her tulpae, but most of the time, the session would take a pause or even end because she broke down in fright and tears alike. Eventually, it got so stressful that she accidentally uncovered her summoning powers in one quick and fell swoop. Amidst an intense amount of tears and stress alike from the trauma of her memories, she unknowingly produced a swift burst of ice in the center of her psychologist’s room before the form itself morphed into a seemingly sentient and animate wolf, running and leaping around before suddenly bursting into numerous ice shards when Serena lost what little control of it that she had.
A little while afterwards, a scout for the academy dropped by after being alerted by another empowered child. He spoke with her softly and actually managed to get her to talk and give her the fair basics of what her past was composed of, as well as the powers that she hosted, which then also led to her showing her illusionary powers to someone else for the first time, as well. They shared a small and brief conversation before Serena hesitantly agreed the offer posed to her to transfer to Aurora Academy to dorm there, all while continuing her education and being given a chance to hone her own powers, as well.
