all the kids cried out please stop you're scaring me I can't help this awful energy god damn right you should be scared of me who is in control? It had been a long day up until now. Koda going to classes and just feeling the oozing disgust from people who looked at him. It didn't help seeing their aura change to a purple disgust when they looked at Koda. He knew his eyes were far from normal. Like black eyes and a full red pupil. Hell if Koda wasn't the one who had them, he would probably right with everyone else.
It doesn't help that he has a pretty foul personality either. And will confront anyone he sees turn an instant purple disgust about it. This is him, people have to deal with it. He assumed coming here would be a bit different, but where every he goes there will always be people that are disgusted with him. Either for his personality or his eyes. But some people have accepted him, but then hated him for his personality. Either way he looses. Not that it matters to Koda. Being around people can be a pain anyway.
It was only a bit after school hours when Koda made his way to the roof. It was such a nice day out and the roof was the best place to watch the clouds. Plus it was one of the places he could get away from his power because after school not many people are up here. He didn't feel like going back to his dorm right now for one reason or another. He made his way to the middle of the roof, as he did he took off his jacket. He was going use it as a pillow of sorts. After taking a seat, he rolled up his sleeves from the shirt he had under his jacket exposing the tattoos he had both arms. He loosened the under shirt, exposing his neck tattoo along with some of his upper chest tattoos.
He leaned back as he put both his arms behind his head as the jacket was between his head and arms to be a pillow. He yawned one he got comfy as he watched the clouds pass by so slowly. If he did fall asleep, it wouldn't be the first time nor the last time. He took out his phone from his pocket and start to flipped through his music. He found some music that he wanted to listen to, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and turned the volume up on phone and placed the phone on his chest it started to play the music. He started to rock his head up and dead as he watched the clouds pass by. Tags: Erika Wyndham Notes: there we go!

The uniform was every bit ugly. Ever since the day Rischzel, the prefect—hall monitor, as Americans had called him, had snitched on her to the administration, she had been given an older, ugly version of the Aurora Academy uniform to wear. Erika would hardly put it past the administration to use it as a form of punishment for not completely abiding by the standard uniform rules. Once again though, she had hardly known that the uniform could not be altered. And if she were being frank, her twist on the uniform was nothing short of the small artistic expression she had. She had honestly loved the way that uniform looked: A cute light blue with embellishments and frills and lace. It was absolutely adorable on her. Now the next time she could even wear that thing was if she was going to a Halloween party. “And what a boring Halloween outfit that would be.” The half-Brit murmured to herself on her way back to her dorm. The school day was done and Erika could hardly wait to get herself out of the damnable uniform. A couple of people had snickered about the uniform in her classes, and thinking about it, if she were on the other side, the mixed girl would probably laugh about it as well. It was dark, stuffy, and too large for her body; the tie made her neck itch. It did nothing for her proportions, except make her look obtuse and extremely odd-looking; like she was playing in someone else’s clothes in the first place.
The walk back to the dorm was a long one. Her feet dragged and the common room seemed a bit too crowded than normal with typical teenage activity. The rowdiness, noise, and yelling were too much for her to deal with at the current time, and as she fiddled for the keys to her dorm, she thought that homework would be a bust to even try to accomplish at the moment. The sunlight beamed down into her room, highly deceptive for how the temperature was increasingly dropping these days. Erika crashed onto her bed throwing her tie off to relieve her itch and shrugging the jacket off of her. Taking the entire uniform off seemed to have shed about ten pounds of weight off her shoulders. Her distaste for the outfit showed as her lip upturned while she hung it up for the following school day. She changed into a sleeveless cream-colored Julian top with fall floral prints decorated all over, before shrugging on a larger, comfy sweater. Kicking off her skirt, she pulled up some skinny jeans and grabbed a pair of ankle boots before tying her hair into a high bun.
It seemed absolutely useless to stay in the dorm, though going off campus was not really her thing. She wanted peace though, that was for sure, so the only place she knew was the place where she was heading. Erika grabbed her laptop and headed towards the roof. The click of her boots echoed with each step as she reached higher and higher to the top of the stairs where the metal door would clang to the open space up on the rooftop. The platinum blonde was met with lots of sunlight and a breeze strong enough to cause the door to bang against the fence. Erika struggled to manage to shield her eyes from the offending light while simultaneously reaching out towards the handle of the metal door. Eventually she found it, and pulled it closed before facing the open space before her.
Like the magenta eyed girl determined, it was abandoned and quiet. Well, almost. In the distance, she could see a figure. A guy, she presumed. The clicks of her heels closed the distance as she approached him cautiously. He was older. That much she could deduce. There was an air of maturity about him that the few other boys she came into contact with did not have about them. And as his features became clearer, she could see intricate designs of tattoos that covered what she could visibly see of his body: His arms and his neck that is. He had long hair on one side while the other was shaved and quite a bit of piercings with a demeanor that clearly gave warning signs of not to bother him. His eyes, though. His eyes were different. Where the whites of his eyes should have been were pitch black. And where the pupils were to be, there was red there instead. Erika had wondered if that had anything to do with a talent of his. If anything, it made her curious.
When it came to dealing with upperclassmen, if there were a couple of things that the blonde had learned, it was to never show fear and always assert yourself. It…had failed her a couple of times, mostly because she was terrible at covering the emotion of fear, but where she lacked in that aspect, it was always no problem with teleporting to another area to throw an upperclassman off their game to give herself a head start to run. So the half-Japanese girl had sat down across from the boy placing her laptop down. Erika’s magenta eyes met his own red and black ones. “You don’t mind, do you? Me sitting her and all?”

all the kids cried out please stop you're scaring me I can't help this awful energy god damn right you should be scared of me who is in control? Koda had been looking at the sky, the clouds passing by each slow moment. Trying to figure out what each one looked like. He found some that looked like animals, one was a cat, pig, horse, and many others. He also saw some clouds just looked cool. Koda enjoyed these quiet moments. He wasn't too much of a fan of being in crowded area. Mostly because of his power and how many colors he sees and all the emotion people are having. It was quite annoying sometimes. Other times it was blessing, such as dealing with another asshole. Or trying to pick up a girl. Then this power shined. But in a crowded area it sucked.
A big gust of wind swept through the roof rattling the fence. When he heard a bigger crash and he glanced over to see a figure struggling to close the door. He took his eyes off the figure as he really didn't care. He looked back up at the clouds. As he had to fix his hair a bit as the wind did make it go in front of his eyes. Having long hair was a pain sometimes. But he liked his appearance. Koda glanced back in the direction of the figure as the figure got closer and more clear. The figure was a girl, with platinum blonde hair. At first glance he did think she was albino. But if she was, she wouldn't be out in the blaring sun like she is at this moment. But as she came into view he saw her aura. Changing every few seconds she closed the gap to Koda. First it was a dark orange which Koda knew was caution, then mixed in was a bit of light green which was a bit of fear. But when she him over then her whole aura turned into a light orange which was interest mixed in with a small light green for fear. Koda was confused a bit, no dark purple for disgust? He was very confused. Especially since most people's aura are purple when seeing Koda. He deduced she must have been a year or two under himself, because of just how she looked. And most people when approaching an upperclassman have their aura's turn light green for fear. When she spoke Koda looked at her with his black and red eyes and just nodded. "If you want." he responded as he looked her over now that she was close... She was cute, her eyes were a nice shade of magenta, and her clothes just fit her. It was still odd for Koda not seeing any disgust in her aura. "What brings you up here?" he lazily asked with a bit of a yawn, he lowered the volume of his music so they both could hear if they talked. After all he did want to figure out why she didn't think his eyes were disgusting or his appearance in general... He was still laying down but he moved his head up to see her Tags: Erika Wyndham Notes: The color wheel I used [x]

"If you want."
An affirmation. That was all she needed. The wind whipped by once more and it blew on her loose strands of hair. Erika shut her eyes tight for that moment huddling her sweater closer to herself. His appearance made her only curiouser. What made his eyes that way? Were they contacts like her own? Was it a fashion statement? Up close, he reminded her of those boys back in Japan. The ones from Harajuku. They wore bold fashion statements, sometimes similar to the way this guy was dressed. Who was she to judge fashion though? To her, it was no different than when she would go crazy with pastel colors. This was actually one of the more toned down outfits she had. Erika grabbed her own headphones from her pocket. In the process of plugging them in was when he followed up with another question:
"What brings you here?"
The platinum blonde was going to give a pragmatic response initially. That she wanted to escape the noise of the common room, but if she wanted to just do that, she could have gone to another less crowded location. Not necessarily the roof. But there was something alluring about this place that kept drawing her back. No matter how many times the fuschia-eyed girl came back here she was bound to meet someone new and this time proved to be no exception. She looked down at her laptop. "To escape I guess." It was such an abstract answer. She hoped he wouldn't laugh or sneer at it, after all he had to be up here for a reason too.
She looked back over towards her roofmate. The Half-Brit stared hard at the upperclassman. Pale skin much like her own. A grunge look. She followed his tattoos with her eyes. They were intricately designed. They looked like they could bounce off of his skin at any moment. She just wanted to reach out and touch it. Her eyes drew back to his face and she had wandered about his piercings. How much had they hurt? Did they make things difficult for him? What prompted him to do them? Her eyes followed his features slowly. Chin...lips...nose...in an odd and model-esque way, she found him handsome. He had to have known that right? The grunge look fit his features very well. But finally, she settled on and searched his eyes. Beyond the black and red, she couldn't exactly read them. They had experienced quite a bit though. What wisdom he had, she could not exactly pinpoint, but Erika figured that that was partially the reason that she found an air of maturation around him.
She had tried to quell it. Honestly, the blonde really did, but the need of blurting it out spilled out from her before she could catch it: "Are they real?" Knowing how stupid the question sounded by itself, she quickly followed it up: "Y-Your eyes I mean." The blonde scolded herself. What type of conversation starter was that? It was invasive, rude, and yet, deep down the half-Japanese girl knew she was not too apologetic for it. Those eyes held a story and selfishly, Erika wanted to know for herself. all the kids cried out please stop you're scaring me I can't help this awful energy god damn right you should be scared of me who is in control? Koda was tapping his foot as his music still played, he stopped bobbing his head so he could hear the girl in front of him. Plus his neck was getting sore from bobbing up and down for a bit. When the girl took a seat the sun was hitting her face just right to really show just how cute she was.
Koda chuckled a bit at her answer. "haha, I know that feeling." he said. It was almost painfully true how many times he came here to escape from his powers or just people in general. Too many times has he come here to just get away from everything and enter his own world up here...alone. After all, the higher up he is/ the further he is away from people. The less he has to deal with seeing their aura around them. Or see it change as he walks by. It was more of a curse than a gift...
Koda went back to cloud watching as she looked at his features. Koda glanced down and saw her flicker of dark green aura which was fear disappear. But it was replaced by lighter dark blue which was amazement. His eyes widened a bit in surprise... She wasn't fearing or disgusted by his appearance. Koda sat up and looked at her. Was there something wrong with her head? Most peopled feared his eyes and yet her Aura still had that light orange which was interest mixed with light dark blue for amazement. He just couldn't get a real read of what she was thinking. He got a perfect read of her emotions of course. He just couldn't get a grasp of what she was thinking.
Koda tilted his head and proceeded to look at the clouds when she blurted something out. The followed up with a bit of a stutter. Asking if they were real. Koda just stared into her eyes before bursting out into laughter. Despite Koda hating when people turn a disgust purple, or asking if his eyes were actually real. He thought it was kinda funny her nervous tone when she asked, and the fact just before she asked that orange interest aura of hers spiked.
He calmed himself down and looked at her. "Yup they are real. No contacts or anything. My eyes changed to this black and red when my powers kicked in when I was 13." he answered her question with a slight smile... Koda was actually just being nice. When he was alone like this, he was much easier to talk to. Especially since he has had time away from his power to calm down and relax. When he looked at her, that orange interest aura was still the most prominent aura surrounding her. He was kinda glad she wasn't judging. It would have ruined the rest of his day dealing with a judgmental person. So he was more relieved than happy she wasn't.

Erika started to loosen up a bit around him. He didn’t laugh at her. He didn’t snicker at her answer. He didn’t try to trivialize her feelings at all. The older teen simply…understood. She wondered if it was maybe for the same reason. The roof provided being an excellent oasis during certain times of the day. It was an oxymoron of itself in that it was an increasingly popular spot to be, but also not always populated. The half-Brit turned her attention back to the grunge teen before her. This guy didn’t speak much, but he was surprisingly easy to talk to. The blonde had to wonder if his appearance was just that, an appearance. Maybe he was a bit more complex than that. Maybe he was a lot kinder than he let on. There were layers to him. Like an onion. Except, onions could make a person cry. She paused. He wouldn’t do that to her would he?
He seemed to be captivated by the sky and Erika had turned her attention upwards as well. The sky was awfully dazzling to look at. Each puffy cumulus cloud had its unique puffy, bouncy and soft shape that in some way, the magenta-eyed girl could make out to be as some animal or an inanimate object. One looked like cat. Another looked like a balloon though. At least, if she titled her head in a specific angle it came out looking that way. The clouds though despite how seemingly innocent they were, gave promise of a rain that could possibly appear some time later on when the day progressed, night crept up, and the temperature would grow cooler. The silence between them at first was a comfortable one, though because of her blurting word vomit, he seemed, thrown off? No, that was hardly the word for it, confused, maybe? Not totally offended she had hoped, but if he was, his facial expression would have completely and almost immediately given off that expression.
Instead, he erupted into a fit of laughter.
That, Erika was hardly prepared for. His deep voice rang through her ears and she looked down biting her rose-glossed lip as her face immediately flushed into a deep shade of pink that extended well up to her ears and down to her neck. She was suffering complete and utter embarrassment not knowing whether to be more embarrassed that he had laughed at her rather direct question or acknowledging the fact that his laugh, like him, was charismatic and attractive. Her mind raced trying to find a way to change the topic before he could answer. Erika thought he probably would not want to have to explain about his eyes. She didn’t know how to interact with upperclassmen. The blonde did not like to think that she lacked confidence, but when it came to people who were clearly older than her, she was not exactly sure just how to act. Whether to emulate them or otherwise. She was about to fly off with something else, another word vomit, but he answered her and saved her the further destitution.
“Yup they are real. No contacts or anything. My eyes changed to this black and red when my powers kicked in when I was 13."
That caused her to look up and face him again. Everything about this boy seemed to be some mystery that Erika wanted to unravel. His presence was an enigma. So his eyes were in relations to his powers? What did they do? Did they make him clairvoyant? Did he have some type of vision? What if it was X-Ray vision? Erika consciously moved her hands above her chest and her lap. Not that her body was much to look at, but the idea made her feel completely self-conscious and overtly exposed. His smile grew contagious for her though, which caused her to beam back at him. There was so much she could ask about him, though she doubted he would probably want to spend all his time playing “21 Questions” with her. While the conversation was going on though, Erika figured she might as well ask as many questions as he would let her. So she figured she would start with something simple.
“What are your powers?”

all the kids cried out please stop you're scaring me I can't help this awful energy god damn right you should be scared of me who is in control? Koda watched her reaction. It was quite funny in all reality. Her aura still had that orange tint of interest but when she went to cover her body trying to figure out his power as many possibilities filtered through her mind. Her aura flickered a mix between a very dark orange which was vigilance, and a very light green which was apprehension. He just chuckled to himself as he looked at her.
He looked at her as her blush from earlier was still clear on her face, probably from the possibilities of his eye powers. But a smile grew on her a face...Which there was a slight change in her aura to a yellow for joy? Really joy, Koda did not expect this. Was she really having fun talking to someone like him? He really didn't expect it, that was for sure. Koda heard her speak as he looked into her eyes. He chuckled a bit and raised his hands and waved it lazily back and forth. "Don't worry, I don't have X-ray vision haha" he chuckled so she could stop with that vigilance of him and drop her hands. It was a bit funny though how fast she brought up her hands to cover her body. She did have a pretty cute body though. Despite her petty figure, she was actually very cute.Koda scooted next to the girl so it be easier to hear each other with the wind howling quite often up here on the roof. He crossed his legs and sat indian style. He looked over at the girl then back up at the sky. "My only power is too see the Aura's of people. In other words I see multiple shades of colors around them. And these Aura's correspond with their emotion." he said as he paused and looked over at her. "Like right now, you have a light shade of orange which is interest surrounding you along with a yellow for joy. and then light green for apprehension. Which probably came from you looking for possibilities of my powers and came up with X-ray and why you moved your hands accordingly" he chuckled a bit as he assumed he just got everything right about. "Don't worry, I can't read minds. But this power does make it easier to assume what people are thinking." he added before smiling at her. "It can be a pain though because my power is always active, so when I walk around the school, I see all the colors of everyone's emotion..." he lastly said before sighing.
He looked over at her. "But what I am more surprised about is that you are not really afraid of me. Most people show dark green for fear, or a dark purple for disgust when I walk by them. But the moment you saw me, you were always a light orange for interest. It took me off guard for a second." he admitted with a chuckle. It really did, he just couldn't really get a full read on her due to the fact that her aura stayed orange the whole time.
Koda stretched out his arm and placed it front of her. "Plus I saw you eying my tattoos. You can trace them as we talk. I don't mind. Most people that are not afraid of me like to anyway. So go ahead." he chuckled probably catching her off guard a bit with his action.

Erika was beginning to slowly notice that he was observing her a lot more intently than she had realized. Every movement she made. Everything she said; he seemed to be taking it in stride though and the blonde was ever so thankful for that. On the other hand, though, it had made her feel slightly self-conscious. Every single time their eyes would meet, it was a rather intense feeling that she was not exactly sure how to describe. She could not keep his gaze for very long, but it made her feel somewhat open and vulnerable.
"Don't worry, I don't have X-ray vision haha” The second year perked up at that and settled her hands back into a relaxed position almost automatically. Well, it was certainly reassuring that he couldn’t see past her clothes or into her skin and bones. Though, Erika was surprised. She was so sure she had not said anything in regards to it, verbally that is, but he easily determined her thoughts. So he was clairvoyant? Or maybe he was a telepath and he could read her thoughts? That seemed hardly fair. He could know her thoughts and she could barely read him based off of his movements. The “what if” demons slowly started encroaching into her mind. What if he had heard everything she was thinking of before? What if he heard that I thought he was cute??!? She mentally screamed it, while simultaneously tried to empty her mind of any thoughts in particular.
His sudden movement had alarmed her. He was even closer than before, but Erika was hardly opposed to it. She was actually satisfied. He smelled nice. She scooted closer trying to awkwardly play it off by fiddling with her laptop. The boy’s mellow voice had pulled her attention back to him like a magnet as he explained to her his powers. Yet with each passing moment as he explained about his aura-reading abilities, she was growing more and more worried, frightened even. So he could not read her mind, but he could still gage a lot about her just through her emotions. He was highly observant of her from the start. She could only imagine that if they got to know each other a bit more, what he could determine simply from reading her aura. It sent her into a form of a mental panic. The “what if demons” that plagued her mind before had gone into overdrive crawling around her head.
Enjoy it now. He’s not going to talk to you again if you two see each other.
You know how upperclassmen are. They’ll act this way when you’re alone. Then act like somebody else in front of others.
Think about if he learns about your past. You’ve got too much baggage.
Knowing an upperclassman, he’d probably hold it against you.
Why are you trying to show off? Remember those ugly little scars?
"Don't worry, I can't read minds. But this power does make it easier to assume what people are thinking.” Erika breathed out a sigh of relief and returned his smile pushing those darker thoughts back into the corners of her mind. "It can be a pain though because my power is always active, so when I walk around the school, I see all the colors of everyone's emotion..." The magenta-eyed girl titled her head. “I don’t know, seeing rainbows all the time would probably be a dream come true for me.” She immediately resented saying that though when hearing his sigh. And maybe he was not really a fan of rainbow? After all, he really did not seem to be the type with his grunge look. Plus, looking at rainbows all the time was most likely bound to give someone a headache. She could hardly manage looking into a kaleidoscope for very long, so it was understandable for him to not exactly appreciate every aspect of his power.
"But what I am more surprised about is that you are not really afraid of me. Most people show dark green for fear, or a dark purple for disgust when I walk by them. But the moment you saw me, you were always a light orange for interest. It took me off guard for a second."
Oh, so he didn’t see rainbows all the time. A melancholy feeling washed over her for a moment. “Oddly, enough, you remind me of home.” She said looking down. “I was born in Japan, so there were a few guys who kinda had the same style as you.” She met his two-toned eyes once more. “There’s no reason to be disgusted with you, though. I…don’t really see a reason to be. And…you…you probably already know, but pretty much the only fear I felt for you was for the fact that you’re an upperclassman. I don’t know too many upperclassmen.” And the only significant one that Erika did know picked on her, snitched on her for upgrading her school uniform and forced her into a less than aesthetically pleasing version of the uniform as punishment. So her view of upperclassmen was a bit skewed. A flicker of surprise etched across her features as he stuck his arm out in front of her. She looked curiously from the tattooed arm back to him, the unsaid question pronounced all over her face. "Plus I saw you eyeing my tattoos. You can trace them as we talk. I don't mind. Most people that are not afraid of me like to anyway. So go ahead." Erika flushed lightly and touched his arm bringing it over to her sliding her pastel colored fingers across the various jagged lines of the sleeve tracing each detail. She had never been to a tattoo parlor, but she could appreciate art. She wondered how long it must have taken and how much it hurt. Though, with how many tattoos she could see on him, pain must have not been much of a factor to him. Silently yet in a satisfied manner, she traced the lines of his arms, going off into a daze, when it dawned upon her that she never told him her name.

all the kids cried out please stop you're scaring me I can't help this awful energy god damn right you should be scared of me who is in control? Koda was looking across the roof, past the fence and at the horizon. It wasn't often that he told people his power. But this girl next to him, he didn't know why, she just had something that made him tell what his power was. And he wasn't ashamed to do so either. He probably would have done the same thing in another life with her. She just had one of those aura's that he just subconsciously trusted, which was rare for Koda.
The next second he looked back at her, there were so many Aura changed. From green fear to dark orange vigilance. He couldn't keep track of the girl's changing emotions. He just chuckled in his head. She defiantly was a ball of emotion, and they changed pretty fast. Not that it was a bad thing. Koda actually enjoyed people with many emotions around him.... Would make up for some of the emotions he doesn't have. And he could get used to her aura. Once Koda gets used to someone after talking to them a lot. He sometimes doesn't notice their aura unless he concentrated. But they had to be really close in order to Koda to forget their aura. So he did have his doubts with this girl in front of him... Not because of her, but just with the way Koda acts. He couldn't see in the future or anything. But it always plays out as Koda gets close to someone and then he fucks up and they never talk to him again. So sometimes he just gave up trying sometimes. Maybe she could be different? who knows. When she introduced herself as Erika, he just smiled at her a bit since her aura spiked with a nice yellow hue. As she traced each of his tattoos from the small ones to the larger ones. He rolled the rest of his sleeve up to his shoulder so she could trace the rest. After all she did seem a bit memorized over the tattoos which was a good thing in the way. Plus Koda didn't mind her finger lightly tracing his skin..."I'm Koda...Koda Dalton and obviously im an upper classmen. Im a fourth year." he said to her with a smile. And he was kinda grateful that her only fear when she was approaching came from him being an upperclassman and not cause of his appearance. He watched as she kept tracing his arm as some goosebumps could probably be felt, but he did enjoy it. "Well maybe it's cause im half Japanese." he said to her as she spoke about how he reminded her of home. "My mom moved to the U.S and found my dad and all that then I was born." he added as he looked up at the sky. He was never really close to his parents since they were obsessed with work and all that. "I can not speak the language though. Mom never taught me, she was too busy helping my dad in the music shop to pay attention to their only son." he chuckled a bit. Koda usually made the worst things in his life into a joke. Not out of coping. But just cause he thought they were funny. From the start Koda was always a bit of an outcast and he liked it like that. There was nothing wrong with being different... That's what his mother used to tell him. And it was the only thing she really did for him. "Anyway, how about we hear something about Erika?" he asked a bit in a playful tone. He was a bit curious about her himself. It just wasn't one sided with her being curious about him. Koda did want to learn a bit more about this woman in front him. After all everything was all him at this moment. Plus Koda was actually enjoying himself for once. It had been such a long time since he had just a fun conversation like this.
He thought for second of a question to ask her as his arm was still in her grasp. "Hmm oh I got it. What are your powers. I told you mine." he said playfully as he chuckled a bit. Koda was being playful like he usually is when he gets into a good mood. And right now with Erika he was in a pretty damn good mood.

The bands on Koda's forearms enthralled Erika. Some lines were straight and bold. Others were thin and curved. As he rolled up his sleeve even further, the blonde's eyes widened. The tattoos never seemed to end. Were there any meanings to each design? Was it some sort of wanton desire? Were some lines drawn on just because it was on whim? Either way, she found them brilliant. Maybe one day, he could tell her the stories about each one. If there were any that is. Something like this.Erika thought to herself serenely. Despite the sharp wind, the weather was currently so inviting. A true means of escape between the two of them.
At his introduction, she repeated his name in her head. Koda Dalton. So she was right. He was two years older than her to be exact. Though there was an obvious age, and possibly a difference in which classes they would take, she had hoped that they would find some way to be able to meet again, whether it be in school or not. To talk about the small things like this. To talk about anything that came to her head. To listen to him in return. He revealed that just like her, he was half Japanese. At that, Erika leaned away from him to take another good look at the upperclassman as if she were looking at him once again for the very first time. The magenta-eyed girl smiled at the discovery. Yes, she could see the slants of his eyes so commonly identifiable to her ethnicity. More than anything, she was happy that they had something in common. Erika listened intently and felt a bit of sadness as he gave a brief overview to his home life. When her mother was still living and her father still had his job (and his sanity for that matter), their home life was everything. It was probably when Erika herself was at her happiest. To have never experienced that love and bond between parent and child...living both sides of the spectrum, it was depressing to know that he had never truly experienced it.
"I can not speak the language though. Mom never taught me. She was too busy helping my dad in the music show to pay attention to their only son."
Erika knew it was a joke, but she felt a pang of hurt, possibly for him followed by resolution that was a bit self-centered. The platinum blonde sat up and looked directly at him. "I can teach you." It came out as more of a question than a statement. Not because she was not confident of her own skills, but because she was not sure if he wanted to even do it. She would not force him, but it would have been a nice excuse to see him more often and outside of class at that.
"Anyway, how about we hear something about Erika?" About her? What was there to say really? Her mind scrambled for anything that was of value to say about herself to Koda. Home life was too much of a sensitive topic for her at the moment. She did not exactly want to reveal too much about the only dysfunctional family member she had left. Let alone scare him off for problems that were just her own. Thankfully, Koda saved her from any tense revelations. She did not have it in her to pass through her dilemmas as easily as Koda could. He easily switched the topic back to powers though. About her own. "'s nothing of significance though." she looked up to him. "Not as interesting as reading auras, but...I can teleport." She scooted a small distance away from him only to disappear and phase back to the entrance of the rooftop door. She then teleported right back next to Koda. Scratching her head sheepishly, the half-Brit opened the palm of her hand, and perpendicular to their seating, she threw open a fuchsia portal. "I can also open portals. Though, that's a fairly newer power. I'm not too good with it. It's...pretty tricky." Talking about herself tended to be a very embarrassing ordeal. She did not do it very often as the second year felt that for her, there was not much to gloat about. Her powers were convenient, but she would not exactly have missed them if they were to disappear one day. Koda seemed to be a good mood though and was intrigued by her powers at the very least, so who was she not to placate to his wishes? all the kids cried out please stop you're scaring me I can't help this awful energy god damn right you should be scared of me who is in control? He was looked at her as her aura had changed quite a few times, from a yellow joy, still orange interest, and a new one. A flicker of blue for sadness. Maybe it was because he shared a bit about his home life. Or what was his home life. It wasn't intentional to get her to feel bad for him or anything. He has lived his 18 years in the shadow of his own home. Since he was old enough to take of himself his parents had focused more on the music shop and shows they ran. Not that Koda cared, it gave him all the freedom in the world. So much so that he was able to get tattoos by forging his parents signature. Granted his parents were mad he got a tattoo but since he kept forging their writing and getting more, they came to accept their son the way he was. Koda just kept adding and adding tattoos. Until both of his arms had been covered. Some meant something to him. Others he just got them because they looked cool. Once his arms were full. He moved to his upper body, chest, back, ribs, upper hip. His whole upper body didn't have as much ink as his arms did. Since his chest, back and ribs, area had tattoos scattered around. But still to be eighteen and have this many tattoos, just goes to show how much freedom his parents gave him. When Erika, he was still trying to implant that name to her face, spoke about teaching him some of the language. He looked at her, thinking the benefits of it. There wasn't any that he could think of. And he truly didn't need to learn it. "Sure I wouldn't mind learning." he said with a smile. But it would pave the path for them to hang out together. And for some reason he wanted to. This platinum blonde next to him sure got his attention. When Koda asked her about herself, so many aura flickers happened he couldn't catch all of them. But the main one was a light green for apprehension. Which was understandable. Everyone had secrets they didn't want to tell. But it wasn't as if Koda asked her to spill her life story right then and there. He just wanted a little something since he did answer a couple of her questions. So when he asked her about her power, the main emotion she was showing was a bit of relief and back to a yellow joy. As she scooted away from him she said it wasn't as interesting as aura reading, which Koda probably thought it had to be because Aura reading was more of a curse. When suddenly she just vanished. Even her aura, which sometimes Koda can feel a bit after someone leaves, even left. His black and red eyes scanned the roof to see where she went until her aura was seen by the door. Then poof she was gone again. He heard her small body be relocated back next to him. "huh." was all he could say really. Before she opened the palm of her hand. In which another power of hers was manifested. A portal, which had a cool color to it too. When the portal collapsed in on itself. Koda just stared at Erika for a couple seconds. Before he bursted out into laughter. "You think teleporting and making a portal are not as interesting as aura reading." he laughed as he just looked at her. "Man what I'd give to have those powers instead of Aura reading and these black and red eyes." he said as he was starting to calm down from his fit of laughter. He wasn't really laughing at her, just the fact she thought his powers were more interesting which in fact they were not. After all, his powers were more of a curse than a gift. Koda looked at her and saw her embarrassed face. He didn't need aura reading to see that she wasn't good saying things about herself, or maybe even showing it? He looked at her, "You have to be more assertive when you show your powers off like that. Don't be modest about them. They are cool." he said with a chuckle before he cleared his throat. "YO CHECK OUT WHAT I CAN DO!" he yelled out as his voice echoed for a little bit before he bursted into laughter. "next time you show your powers do that." he said in the middle of his laughter. After all having teleportation and portals are pretty badass he thought before his laughter calmed down.
Koda laid back, using his arms as a pillow, and just looked at the clouds passing by. "What I'd give to get rid of these black eyes." he repeated himself. Yes Aura reading had its positives. Like seeing how people react to what you say even if they have a blank stare on. Or if they are mad and they are not telling you etc... But Aura reading was a curse more so than a gift. It really fucks with Koda's mind. Since he can see their emotions he can manipulate/deceive a person. Or just take advantage of them. Not to mention how much he can assume just by looking at your aura.
Honestly Koda just wished he was like this all the time, the playful idiot in this moment with Erika. He wished he was more like this all the time. But with aura reading always active he has become very bitty seeing everyone's emotion. Seeing out they change when he walks by with his black and red eyes he never asked for.
But it was odd, this was one of the first times someone he has talked to made him feel like he wasn't looking on the outside in. Ever since his eyes turned and he gained this power. He has always been on the outside looking in. Even when he arrived here, where everyone was different. He still felt on the outside looking in. But in this moment, with Erika, he finally felt like he belonged. He didn't know why and he didn't want to question it. He just wanted to enjoy it.

As the conversation carried, Erika could not help but to think back on the things that Koda revealed about himself. About his ability to see aura and determine things about people based upon the colors he saw. She wondered how he aligned specific emotions to different colors, but given the fact that he had years of practice underneath his belt and that there were only a set amount of colors, the platinum blonde figured that it probably was not that difficult. As she traced a particular band on his forearm following the jagged edges and curved lines, she could feel the goosebumps peeking out from his skin. They added to the tattoos in an odd way; almost like scales though not nearly as rough as a reptile's scales could be.
What aura did he see with her? What was her aura? He had mentioned bit of it earlier. A light orange with mixes of green here and there. It dawned on her that she was pretty much an open book to him. It was practically useless to even try and parade herself as unafraid of any upperclassmen. Inwardly, the mixed girl groaned. She must've looked like a complete and total idiot to him in the first place if he was able to see that easily through her. What color the color of embarrassment anyway? She was sure that shade haloed around her head anyway. Did an aura even halo around her head? Was it some sort of mass? Did it envelop her entire being? As she looked back towards the grunge upperclassman, she could not help but think that there was just so much to ask about him. He was this ball of mystery, she wanted to know about even further.
His voice once again brought her out of her thoughts as she had heard another small affirmation. What was it for again? Oh, right. She offered to tutor him in Japanese. It was such an excuse. A bullshit one. She knew and the magenta-eyed girl was pretty sure he knew it was one too, probably due to her aura and of course, they were in a school where the language classes were plenty. Though she did not know per say, they probably had a professor already who worked at the school who probably had a power in multi or omnilinguism. Yet he still said "Yes." The confirmation thrilled her.
Koda's staring after she had displayed her two powers made her feel slightly at an unease. Yeah, her powers weren't the coolest. Erika was half-way ready to sputter that out until he once again fell into a fit of laughter. It surprised her. Twice today she had made him laugh. While it did not seem characteristic to his outward appearance, she appreciated laugh and like anytime anyone else laughed, she giggled right along with them. She was not exactly sure what he was laughing for, but laughter tended to be contagious for Erika as it was a part of her bright and cheerful nature to just follow along with whatever good feelings happened to come her way.
"You think teleporting and making a portal are not as interesting as aura reading." The blonde's reply was indignant and much as it immediate: "Well, I don't think it is. It's convenient at most. Teleporting is especially, but portal jumping is tricky and dangerous. One day you could be here and if you jump through a portal sometimes, you don't know what's on the other side. You could land somewhere in the middle of an ocean. I've hardly been able to control it. I
---" Erika stopped herself short. I barely made it here with it. The words died on her lips. "I rarely use it." She covered herself.
She met his eyes once again and immediately looked away with a cheeky blush staining her pale cheeks. "I think your power is incredible." she repeated pulling her cream colored sweater closer to her. "I like your eyes. Your eyes that could probably tell me about myself better than I could. Eyes that see truth no matter what someone says." She smiled fiddling with a whole lot of nothing in particular with her clothing not wanting to meet his all-seeing eyes. Maybe, it was because she wanted to delude herself into thinking that she was not as vulnerable as she felt when she looked into them. "They say the two biggest parts of the body that deceive are the eyes and lips. But that's not the case for you. Even if you wanted it or not, you see the truth. There are no delusions. You can see what's coming. You're never vulnerable. You can see so much." Erika took a deep breath. "I think your eyes are a wonderful mystery."
"You have to be more assertive when you show your powers off like that. Don't be modest about them. They are cool." Erika laughed as he yelled out to nothing but the space between them and the clouds though a bit of a smug smirk etched across her features. Look who's talking. The ironic thought rung through her head. Though she followed his line of sight back towards the clouds. The clouds started to grow larger into imposing cumulonimbus forms. A thunderstorm was on the way. The scent of rain wafted through the air. It was probably why they were the only two on the roof at the time. She did not really check the weather this morning. How long had they been on the roof though?
The champagne-haired girl had folded her lightly colored fingernails into her lap. Her stomach growled cantankerously. She gave a small glare towards her stomach before looking up sheepishly at the older onyx-haired senior. "S-Sorry. I haven't had dinner yet." Erika really didn't want to leave Koda. She was having so much fun with him. Fun she had not had in a long time. "Did you...want to grab dinner with me Koda?"

all the kids cried out please stop you're scaring me I can't help this awful energy god damn right you should be scared of me who is in control? Koda was glancing at the blonde next to him. He did wish he had her always up beat personality. After all being an ass had many more downfalls than that of being positive. After all most people avoid him because of his eyes. But a lot of people that over look the eyes will avoid him because of his personality. But that also is Koda's fault because he isn't afraid to call people out of lies and what not.
His eyes were taking off the blonde as he looked at the pending thunderstorm approaching. He thought it was a bit depressing ruining such a nice down. Like who would want to ruin such a nice day out. The sun was shining, the birds were singing. But nope rain had to be coming to ruin it all.
When she spoke his looked over at her and just chuckled a bit. "But that's the best part. Not knowing where you will end up on that other side of the portal. Now that's an adventure." he replied with a chuckle to her after saying how she didn't know where she would end up if she did go through a portal. In all reality that was the best part in Koda's mind. Not knowing where you were going. It would be an adventure and a half. Ending half way around the world would be sick. "you know go through that portal and end up in Australia, London, Egypt. See what I mean. That's amazing in my opinion" he said to her. Then again an adventure is not knowing where you will end up too. So it makes it even better when you get the destination. He was staring at the clouds when he said that as some wind picked up and blew his hair all over the place. When it stopped he fixed his hair, back to it's original place. Just after he fixed his hair she spoke up again saying his eyes were amazing and he could see through anything anyone said. Probably even know her more than herself. But that is what Koda hated the most, the fact that he was able to see through everything. That was the worst part. He would say something to that comment but he didn't because he saw how much she started to fiddle around with nothing. When she spoke again saying how the two biggest parts of the body that do the most deceiving are the mouth and eyes. Which was probably true. But like before he hated knowing everything about a person in his first glance at them. It was annoying. "They are not as amazing as you think they are. Yes they have their up side. But it takes the fun away in seeing their reactions to things. Or knowing about something before they can even tell me. It takes the surprise and adventure away from getting to know someone." he said as he just looked down at the ground. It honestly sucked, it took every surprise/adventure he could have had with someone right out the door.
They were sitting there for a lil a bit before he heard something growl. He glanced around when Erika spoke. She hadn't had dinner yet which seemed fair, as Koda checked his phone and it was after 6:30. As she asked if he wanted to get dinner with her. He was a bit speechless for a moment but didn't show it on his face. But he stood up and extended a hand out to help her up off the ground. "I would love to, a bit hungry myself." he said with a smile as he could feel his stomach start to ache as he was bit hungry. As they were walking towards the door he looked at her with a smirk. "So the whole thing about the mouth being a deceiver. Do you want to test that out first hand." he slyly said with a wink at the end. He was splaying around but by the way he said it you wouldn't have noticed unless you knew him really well. He wondered what her aura would read after he pretty much said they should kiss. It would probably be priceless he thought...

A low rumbling filled the air. The once puffy cumulus clouds gathered together into bigger anvil shaped cumulonimbus clouds. They grayed over time gaining an intimidating appearance the more time the two of them spent out there. It was a clear warning sign that the rain was inevitable and soon would be pouring. Due to this, she could only half listen to Koda. The platinum blonde had heard him speak of foreign places about her powers. And she supposed that that was a fun aspect to it. It would have been nice to have ridden a camel in Egypt or seeing the view from the Eye of London, or to go on a guided outback tour in Australia. But the problem was returning. Portal jumping was such an unreliable power. She could end up in Egypt, but returning would still be a problem. The next portal she could jump through could land her in a place where it was possible she would not have wanted to be or in the worst case scenario, where she was not welcome. Aurora Academy was her oasis. A sanctuary for her; but most importantly a place that was familiar. And the magenta-eyed girl hardly was in a place where she could leave it right now to see the world. But maybe one day. Erika quietly mused to herself. It would be nice if she could one day just jump through any portal she could conjure up and just see the world for what it was and what it had to offer.
The wind whipped and it blew both Koda’s and Erika’s hair harshly. She witnessed Koda wrestling with his shadowy, onyx hair fixed the unshaven side back into place. Erika mewed almost inaudibly as she closed her eyes facing away from the direction the wind was blowing while trying to keep her bun in place on her head. The once-neat bun now resembled a sloppy one as if she had just returned from a gym after a good long workout. She huffed a bit just a tad bit annoyed that her bun had not stayed in place. Though there was not much that could be done to save it. It was no use crying over that spilled milk case.
“They are not as amazing as you think they are. Yes they have their upside. But it takes the fun away in seeing their reactions to things. Or knowing about something before they can even tell me. It takes the surprise and adventure away from getting to know someone." That was true Erika mused to herself. Koda had already had those powers for such a long time, and the pale skinned girl remembered from her earlier thoughts, the grunge-styled boy did not see rainbows all the time like she thought he would. Many people had looked at him with disdain, disgust, fear, or any other emotion that he probably did not want to be witness to. Furthermore, he probably already knew what the following actions would be. She figured that if life were mapped out due to what her eyes could see, then after a while, sure she might have become a bit jaded in life. “Then…I’ll try to make your life as surprise filled as possible.” The half-Brit girl offered in return. She was not exactly sure just how she was going to do. She just knew that she would. Someway. Somehow.
Another rumbled from the imposing clouds became a sound threat to leave the open space of the roof top and find shelter. It coincided well with her stomach the growled yet again with the demand of being fed properly. She beamed at his acceptance of her offer to grab some food. She took his extended hand and quickly packed up her laptop tucking it quickly under her arm. A rain drop landed on her cheek. They multiplied to a few, then to several and soon she could hear the “sssssh” of the rain as it pelted down on the both of them. Erika’s gait quickly turned into a small jog as she pulled open the rooftop door entrance. She was getting just a tad bit soaked and that was not doing her any favors to anything outfit wise. The fuchsia-eyed girl looked back to see Koda’s long legs carrying him behind her in stride. It did not seem that he minded so much that he got a bit wet. Just as they got through to the other side though, she could see his countenance change. It confused her a tad bit. The smirk on his face was not the least bit threatening, if anything just a bit smug and she could not help but wonder just what exactly he was thinking. Another advantage to his powers if you ask me. Erika argued simply to herself, keeping the comment unsaid.
"So the whole thing about the mouth being a deceiver. Do you want to test that out first hand?"
If Erika was not as flushed from before, the entirety of her face grew extremely rosy by then. She tensed and turned around hoping for Koda not to see her face. Maybe he did not exactly mean it that way, but the wink certainly held more than enough for insinuations. She was hoping it was just her own mind which interestingly could not help but go straight to the gutter with that comment. “I-I…what do you mean?” the leucous haired girl asked. Just how exactly could Koda test out that theory? WORDS: 917TAGS: Koda Dalton NOTES:Currently wearing [ x ]; Sorry, it took so long!~

all the kids cried out please stop you're scaring me I can't help this awful energy god damn right you should be scared of me who is in control? Koda looked at her after she said she would try to make his life a surprise as much as she could. Pretty bold telling that to someone who can flip your world upside down in a moment. Koda was pretty good surprises and saying things to make girls blush. But either way he kinda felt happy that she said that for some reason. It was an odd feeling.
After helping her up to her feet. They started to walk to the door as he felt a couple rain drops hit his shaved side of his head along with his face. As it turned into a down poor. Erika took off running for the safety of dryness inside as she pulled the door open and ducked inside. Coda didn't mind the rain, it felt kinda since here and there. He had his coat stuffed under his arms as he walked until he was inside.
Once inside he shook his head, and the water that decided to stay in his thick hair. He made sure to be a bit away from Erika when he did so she wouldn't get more wet. Once most of the water was gone he put some of the hair back in place to make it look neat at least. After doing so is when he asked her that question of testing out the deceiving mouth out. When he looked back at her, her whole face suddenly flared up into a blush. When she turned around to hide her face.
Koda just chuckled a bit to himself when he saw how she reacted. Seeing people's reactions to things he says was sometimes the best. When she asked what did he mean, Koda just walked up to her and lightly turned her around so she was facing him. And also so he could make eye contact with her.
He leaned down a bit being even closer to her, her pretty lips, which was probably making her freak out on the inside. "Well, you should see if my lips are...Maybe I said something deceiving while we were talking." he said to her as he just stared into her eyes even if she did look away. He was focused on them. He wanted her to look into his eyes.
This wasn't a first for Koda putting a girl in a situation like this. It was just what he does. Even if Erika is different, he would still have some fun with her. Maybe not as much fun. But still have fun none the less. And he wanted to see how she reacted to something like this. If she was going slap him, just push him out of the way, or just sit there in shock. There were so many possibilities. He wanted to see which one she chose.
