[attr="class","life"] ❝ Throw away my inhibition Tell me I'm not alone [attr="class","les"] I t took a moment for Kari to react to the absence of the bow from her hand, and a few seconds too slow. As soon as she reached for it, her hand came upon Silas', and she could feel the heat radiating in the air with their mingling emotions, which only escalated her own tenfold. There was nothing that she wanted more right now than to crawl into a hole and never come out. They remained frozen in place for a moment, both seemingly unsure of what to do in their situation. Kari was about to speak when she looked up and was met with the site of a...fox? Had she never seen Luka and his cat features before than she might have been shocked beyond words. Not that she was already incapable of speech already. While Silas struggled to take back his full human form, Kari too the chance to quickly snatch the bow from his fingers and stand. Swallowing a lump in her throat, she turned away and slipped it into the pocket of the cello case that had been discarded nearby. She needed to get the hell out of here before she spontaneously imploded. | [attr="class","goodness"] ✉ Kari.exe has stopped working ✎ 0000 words |

[attr="class","firelight"]Silas was, put bluntly, at a complete loss as to what he was going to do here for once. The situation had just gotten really awkward really fast, and his mind was having trouble processing what was going on or what he was doing. All he really knew was that Kari was packing up, and that for some reason he really, really didn't want her to leave.
Staying human was proving to be far more effort than it was probably worth at this given time, as Silas was constantly having to devote attention to it and as a result he ended up caving and adjusted his pants accordingly, dragging them down to just below his tailbone in the back so the final part of his transformation could surface. Twin white fox tails immediately burst forth, coiling around one another for a moment before splitting apart, thin wisps of blue flame fading in and out of sight around them as Silas merely moved.
He didn't think. The situation was past thinking. He just did.
And what he did was probably enough to cause the implosion that Kari was so worried would probably happen. What part of Silas remained rational was very, very afraid that he was coming on far too strongly, though he didn't have much time to react to that before he found himself pressed up against Kari's back. His fox ears flickered as he comprehended the emotions in the air, his own having already driven him to this strange state of autopilot as his tails waved around in the air behind him. There was no helping him now, and judging by the warmth the air currently had there was little helping Kari right now either.
Thoughts danced in Silas's head that only caused his face to redden more, and he found himself no longer able to hide his emotions from Kari, especially not at this close of a distance.
Funnily enough, his almost mirrored hers, though with a degree more longing tying everything together.
He was brutally honest with himself right now, and he didn't have the train of thought to properly comprehend it.
Of course, if his actions cause Kari to take off and avoid him for the next week he couldn't exactly blame her. He was the one who'd started this path, after all.

To say that Kari was taken off guard by Silas' next action was a massive understatement. The emotions that were floating around in the air were almost suffocating now and she wasn't sure how much more she could take before she didn't something unexpected and possibly borderline dangerous. When he pressed against her back Kari found herself unsure of what to do. Part of her wanted to get the hell out of that room as soon as possible while the other half desperately wanted to return his embrace. Affection. She only knew the feeling because she had felt it emanating strongly from couples in the hallways. She had never felt it herself nor directed towards her. It was a strange feeling that she simultaneously hated and craved more of. Taking in a shaky breath, Kari pressed her balled fists to her thighs. "I...I have to go to-to class." Had she been in her normal mindset, she would have been appalled at how much she was stuttering and tripping over her words. She didn't really make any move to push Silas away though. And part of her didn't want to. Silas Sinn

[attr="class","firelight"]"No you don't," Silas stated slyly, a smile playing on his lips as he wrapped his hands around Kari. She didn't have to go. It was merely expected that she did. This school was full of expectations, and while Silas had lived up to a few, he was more than happy to defy them for this moment.
Though his next moment of speech was one that even caught him off guard.
"Stay."
The word was out before he could stop it, and at the same time he realized just how alone he'd been in these last four years. Not a single friend, just him and his pranks. His silver tongue had gotten him some good acquaintances yes, but to say Silas Sinn had friends was to drastically overestimate just how much people liked him. Nobody ever got close to him, be it that they didn't care for his tricks after a while- or that they just couldn't deal with him. His hold around Kari tightened slightly. He didn't want to let go of this.
He didn't want to let go of her.
He could hear his heartbeat in his head again, thumping loudly in time with Kari's and almost seeming to sing to the mood that had overtaken the mood. He was calm, content. He could stay like this forever, if only Kari would allow them to.
She smelled pleasant, and it had taken Silas this long to notice it. It wasn't overwhelming, but it was nice. Calming. A fragrance one could lose themselves in, and Silas was almost happy to do so. This was the first time he'd even been this close to someone. First time he'd been in an embrace that wasn't a headlock or some other sort of aggressive statement, and this was another fact he realized.
His heart might've skipped a beat at the moment he realized that, for all intents and purposes, Kari was the only person he'd ever wanted to get this close to. And for some reason he still felt so far away from her, even with his arms around her. He couldn't tell if he was drunk off of the emotions floating about in the room, but he just wanted to lay around here with her, just talking and singing and playing until the night fell and they were forced to go their separate ways.
...or until Rishe found them, but Silas wasn't giving that much thought as of current.

Had Kari a little less control over herself then she might have squeaked in surprise when Silas moved to embrace her. How did that happen? How the hell had the situation escalated to this in such a short amount of time? She didn't know and she didn't really care. All she knew was that this was happening and that she had to do something. Be it push him away or return his embrace. Really, she was torn between those two choices. Part of her was convinced that they were both acting on impulse, reacting to the emotions in the air. But the other half of her wanted to stay like this with Silas. Unmoving. Just remain in his embrace for as long as time would allow them to. Kari could feel the atmosphere stabbing into her like a thousand knives. It was painful, but not in the usual sense and she couldn't tell if she enjoyed the sensation or not. Kari reached up to curl her fingers around his arms, the beginning of an effort to prise herself away from him, though that was about as far as she want with the action. Did she really want to stay like this? Or was it just the unfamiliar emotions taking over her common sense? She guessed that she would find out soon enough. Silas Sinn

[attr="class","firelight"]Silas nuzzled into Kari's back, neither having the words to speak nor feeling as though they were all too necessary at the current time. She knew what he was feeling, and he knew what she was. It drifted about in the air around them, reminding them just how fruitless any attempts to deny it would be, so they might as well be honest with themselves.
Nevertheless Silas tried to do something, anything, to divert his attention from the girl before him. To no avail, it seemed. Be it the warmth in the air or the proximity of their forms, she managed to intrude upon every thought he could muster up at the current time. Part of him wanted her to return the embrace oh-so-badly, but a fraction of him was content with the situation as it was. He was fine like this, content, happy.
He didn't have the willpower anymore to wonder as to why the situation had accelerated so quickly, only to enjoy the moment set before him, and hope that it would never end. He felt Kari's fingers wrap around his arm, and vaguely wondered for a moment if she was trying to tell him to let go. She didn't move beyond that though, and so he just kept holding her, sure to make his own emotions as distinct as he possibly could from hers in the event she was having trouble differentiating.
He had made his choice to stay here, now it was her turn to make her choice. And he'd rather note have her be influenced by his emotions. If she chose to leave, he could accept that. He could deal with that.
After all, ultimately it was her decision to make. He'd not deign to think he could make it for her.

Kari felt Silas nuzzle into her back and she turned redder in response. She didn't know what to do anymore. What was she supposed to do? No one had ever displayed any semblance of affection towards her. Not her parents, even Kao tended to avoid her when she was spewing out unnatural amounts of self loathing. Not that she could really blame him, but it still hurt her in ways that she liked deny the existence of. She had just learnt to accept the fact that no one would want to associate with her for numerous reasons. This curse of hers being the main one. At least, that was what she had assumed, but here she was with someone embracing her, willingly getting close to her. And to think it was her tendency to exude whatever emotions she was feeling into the air around her that had spurred on the situation in the first place. "You're really weird..." Her voice was just barely above a whisper, and she unconsciously pressed herself closer towards Silas. Or maybe it was her who was acting weird. With the emotions hanging thick in the air, she didn't know if she was acting off her own or his. Maybe both, she didn't know nor did she really care. Silas Sinn

[attr="class","firelight"]"You can't deny that you appreciate it," he murmured softly into her as his grip tightened slightly. He had to admit this was rather nice, just being like this. Even if it did make his heart thump almost painfully in his chest. His tails reached up to curl around her midriff, soft and gentle in their caress. Thoughts danced about in Silas' mind that he was very hesitant to even think about bringing to light.
Though it would be nice if Kari would turn around and hug him back, but he had said that he was fine just staying like this, so he supposed he couldn't exactly complain either way.
Now if only his heart would stop pounding so heavily in his head, maybe he'd actually be able to think straight for a few moments. Of course, part of him wondered if it wasn't just better that he didn't have the ability to realize just how irrational he was being in the current moment. Less for him to worry about and fret over later once he regained his sanity, so-to-speak.

What he said was true. She kind of did appreciate Silas' weirdness. Not that she'd admit it out loud, but she had a feeling that he already knew what with how suffocating her own emotions were starting to become. Kari was a little surprised when Silas' twin tails curled around her midsection and had to resist the urge to touch them. She remained in place for a moment, contemplating her next actions before she inevitably decided 'fuck it', and turned to face him, pressing her face into the side of his neck and returning his embrace. She didn't know what she was doing or why. Only that she was acting purely on instincts. Silas Sinn

[attr="class","firelight"]Instinct.
It seemed to be a recurring theme, a constant motivator for their actions now, both of them too stunned by the situation to really be able to comprehend words and speech and properly think through their actions. They did without thinking, did what their hearts were telling them to do, and thus far it had led to the most comfort Silas had ever experienced in his life. Kari's head buried into the crook of his neck was enough, but the returning of the embrace actually did cause his heart to skip a beat.
He liked to think he was brutally honest with himself, and at a time like this he could only see one real reason why his emotions, why his heart, would be leading him in the direction they were. Despite his thudding heart, beating so hard it practically rattled his ribcage, and the dull ache he felt in that moment were all signs that he was as good as gone at the current moment. There was no saving him now, no bringing him back from whatever it was he was about to do as he drew back a little, watching Kari reflexively look up at him for a moment before he pitched forward once more.
Sparks danced behind his closed eyes as he kissed her. The ache in his chest subsided, and for a moment he found he could think properly again. She was probably going to kill him for this later, he reckoned, but the surprise in the air quickly changed into something... different.
Something new.
Something pleasant.
Something good.
Dozens of songs played host to their own concerts in Silas' mind, each competing to be the chosen victor at the day's end. But he found it too distracting, too hard to chose just one, and found himself melting into the girl in his arms. He was a flustered mess, he was sure. But for this moment of peace, this moment of clarity. He could deal with that. He could deal with that, and whatever else Kari threw at him as a result of his actions.
He'd started this.
He would see it through to the end, even if he shattered every bone in his body trying.
Bones healed, rather quickly in fact.
He'd be fine shattering a few.
All to stay close to her.

Silas' next actions certainly did throw her off guard and for a moment, totally unsure of what to do. What was she supposed to do here? Never being shown any form of affection was one thing but this was a totally different ball game. Balling her fists and twisting the fabric of his shirt in her hands, Kari willed herself to calm the hell down for a moment while she collected what little thoughts that remained. Steeling her nerves, she kisses him back. Despite the tension in the air, she felt strangely calm. It didn't make sense, but then again, this entire situation had made no sense. The sudden changes in the atmosphere had been so drastic that it was almost comical. She wasn't used to the sudden changes and she sure as hell wasn't used to these specific changes either. After what felt like eons, Kari forced herself to pull away, panting lightly from the lack of air and refusing to make eyes contact with Silas while she gathered herself. "I...have to go before I inadvertently kill everyone on campus." She muttered, though it was as plain as the whirlwind of emotions in the air that she didn't want to leave. Or maybe she did. She didn't know anymore. Her mind was a storm of jumbled thought and emotions that she didn't know how to comprehend. She wondered if Silas felt the same way. Though with how casually flirtatious he seemed to be with her before, she almost doubted it. Silas Sinn

[attr="class","firelight"]Silas laughed at her words, light and cheerful. "If you absolutely have to there's not much I can do now is there?" A light smirk played on his lips as she pulled away, him being rather reluctant to let her go but obliging nonetheless.
Truth be told he didn't know what to think, or how to react after what had just happened. His mind was a mess, one in desperate need of being sorted out and he didn't quite have the time to sort it out right at this particular moment in time. So while he knew that letting Kari go was probably for the best by this point, at the same time he once again found himself not wanting to let her go either.
It was quite the mix and array of emotions that Silas had absolutely no experience with. Truth be told he was probably taking it all rather well considering- though that was only really on the outside. He was performing a strange mix of cheering, screaming and trying to keep breathing in his own mind, and was partly thankful that Kari was an Empath and not a Telepath, lest she have a full grasp on just what she did to him.
She could probably get an idea of that just from his emotions alone, no need to give her a full view by her seeing into his mind.
Red still lightly dusted across his cheeks as he watched her, savoring every moment of this span in time that he could, while he could. After all, judging by her words she was willing to end this blissful moment at any time to save the lives of everyone on campus, or so she said. In reality, Silas had the sneaking suspicion that she didn't really care too much and was fine if they just stayed here together for the next few hours or so.
Which at this rate, they would.

Even after Silas let her go and she hesitantly pulled away, Kari still remained in place for a few moments longer just kind of staring at him. Truth be told, she didn't want this moment to end. She wanted to stay here with him, trapped in his embrace and absorbing their emotions as if it were a drug. But she knew what her curse was capable of, what effect it could have on the people around her, and she didn't want to stick around to see what these particular emotions would do to the both of them, and whomever else that happened to pass by at the wrong time. She stood in place for a while longer before turning away so she could pack up her instrument and hastily sliding the case onto her shoulders, almost sprinting towards the door. Class could shove it. For now she needed to get the hell back to the dorms before she spontaneously combusted in the hallway. Silas Sinn

[attr="class","firelight"]Silas let her go, watching as she slipped past him and into the hallway, his heart giving a dull pang of regret as she left. He closed his eyes in response, taking deep, shaky breaths now that he was alone. He had to wrap his mind around this. Around what had just been done, and though it was already easier to think without Kari's presence, Silas found that another issue had just been waiting for him, waiting for the moment Kari left to begin tormenting him.
He didn't mind.
He sat around in the music room for hours after Kari left, laying around the room until the final bell rung and signalled the freedom of all those within the building. As he walked off campus, he glanced back to the crowd in the vain hopes of catching the slightest glimpse of the empath, to no avail, before closing his eyes and getting back to walking with a bit of a disheartened sigh.
He was one of the fourth years lucky enough to have a home in Silver Falls, off campus. It tended to be more beneficial to his rather complicated gender situation than being stuck in one of the dorm rooms, and he was grateful for the unique familiarity the sight gave him when he opened the door and walked in.
That night, he dreamed of pianos and cellos, and music so expressive the emotions it created permeated the very air. He dreamed of white hair, and a girl who made his chest ache when she was no longer around.
He didn't know what to think about it the next morning.
But he had just the slightest feeling...
...the feeling that this was the start of something good.
