@name, ♥Notes: you can sneak up and scare the shit out of him, do it.
THE CREEPER'S BLOOD IS STEEPING ━━ from this undead wooden headboard ▾ ▾ ▾ ▾ There was a select few things that Minh liked about his previous home, in fact he could name them all on one hand.
Most of the food, jasmine tea, and the local park.
Minh grew up close by a small park that people took their children often, not that he interacted with them. It went against his wishes, at the time he was so controlled he didn’t have a choice. Either way, Minh wound up wandering the park during nightfall to avoid any temptations and avoid beatings. Many would have assumed it would be hard to figure out friendships, but Minh liked to believe his first formed friendships was with the park animals. Often times he’d feed ruddy shelducks or mallards, a few times he’d even get to pet them before they turned to bite at him.
It was why he was instantly drawn to Silver Falls Park, it was the closest thing to home.
Few people hung around the park, mainly because it was so small. A few times he’d see students, but many times he was on his own. It was a nice place to wind down after school, plus he had began to feed squirrels enough they’d approach him. Once more, if he touched them they’d tear at his flesh. They were at least able to be pet!
Minh liked to believe this was a win situation.
Taking a seat on the bench closest to the pond, he took out a small bag of mini oreos. Offering it to a biggest squirrel of the park, tossing a cookie at it before it began to nibble on the chocolatey bit.
Minh was 100% focused on the animal.

322 WORDS ▪ @minh ▪ NOTES Edmund wandered lazily through the almost empty park. It was comfortably warm and sunny and as nice as it was walking around, the perfect weather just made Edmund really tired and at the moment he didn't want much more than to lie down and take a nap on one of the benches. Then again, that might be kind of weird and could lead to all sorts of awkward situations. He would be better off just finishing up his stroll and heading back to the school at a decent time. And so he continued to walk. It wasn't a large park but because he wanted to drag it out, he found more interesting things everywhere. Frolicking animals, the serene sound of a breeze rustling the leaves of the trees. The older leaves, and a white flower, falling from the branches as the wind worked its way through. Edmund bent down to pick up the flower, a smile dancing over his lips. The flower was nearly dead and wouldn't last long, but he could enjoy it for now before it gave out and dried up. He carefully tucked it behind his ear and then looked around for something else to entertain him, when he saw the boy sitting close by and feeding something to what looked to be a squirrel. Intrigued, Edmund drew closer. He stepped quietly, as to not disturb the boy or his little friend, until he was near enough to see exactly what was being given to the squirrel. Oreos? Edmund furrow his brow. That seemed a little odd. He cleared his throat, trying to announce himself without startling the other person. "Eh, sorry, but is chocolate safe for squirrels? I know that's a really small amount, but I can't help but be curious." He tangled his fingers in the ends of his long sleeves, uncomfortable with making conversation even though he had been the one to start it.

The moment he heard the voice, he whirled around startled. The Squirrel picking up the cookie and making a run for the tree. When Minh had identified the voice, he began to relax a little as the boy was no real threat. In fact, he looked like he’d blow away in the wind if a heavy gust swept by.
“I don’t know, I only know that they like Oreos” Minh was honest, he didn’t know if it was bad for squirrels. “I use to feed chocolate chips to rats, they didn’t die of that… Their sort of like rats, but better at climbing and fluffy tails”
They were rodents, but they were likely completely different animals.
“I think it’s okay” he shrugged, none of the squirrels had died to Minh's knowledge. Besides those who met car tires, but that was swift human intervention. Of course recently he was recently told by Riku feeding ducks bread was bad. It was considered junk food having little value.
Glancing up at the tree as the squirrel continued to munch on the cookie, “I could ask Mr. Tajiir” Minh thought aloud.
“I assume you go to Aurora Academy?” it seemed like a no brainer, but there were children who lived in town. Not all of them were gifted, so they likely went to school somewhere around the town. Not that Minh knew of another school. |

261 WORDS ▪ @minh ▪ don't mind the nervous wreck The boy spun around, and Edmund winced at the sudden movement. "Sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you," he clarified, holding his hands up to show he meant no harm. The boy began to speak, muttering that he didn't think chocolate was bad for them, but that the squirrels seemed to like it. Edmund laughed and glanced over to the one that had taken part of the oreo from the boy, still happily nibbling on it. "I can see that. I don't mean to sound critical, sorry. He looks like he's really enjoying that." The boy asked him if he went to Aurora Academy. So he was a student there, too. Edmund nodded in response to the boy's question before elaborating. "Yeah, I'm a second year student. I've never seen you around, I don't think." It was probably because of an age gap, or more likely because Edmund was always off in his own little world or buried in a book. If he had to pick an Aurora student out of a lineup, he'd fail miserably. Everyone just seemed the same to him unless he really knew them. Edmund blinked slowly as he moved a little closer to the boy. Still a little nervous with the conversation, he moved his hair out of his eyes, though it fell right back into place. Did the other boy notice all of his fidgeting? He tried to clear the annoying thoughts from his mind and focused instead on the other student.Would you mind if I sit? I'm Edmund, by the way."

“I wasn’t frightened, I was taken off guard. I didn’t hear you” Minh retorted, fear wasn’t something easily admitted.
When he went to defend himself, Minh went back to watching the rodent munching away on the treat he tossed for it.
“Well, neither of us know if chocolate is good for it. I think we’re all on the same boat, I don’t think it really knows either” he thought a little aloud, but maybe it did?
When he asked to sit with him, he stared at him blankly. Honestly, he never had somebody ask to sit with him or hang out with him. It earned a shrug from Minh, “by all means, it’s a park” the youth answered. Parks were a public place for all to enjoy, if the boy felt the most interest sitting with him. Why not?
“I’m Minh, on the last year of high school... Not that it really helps I suppose.” he informed, in case he may have heard of him. Of course, there was also a lot of Minhs in their school... Well, no, there was probably a few.
“I don’t think that really helps. I was adopted by Professor Tajiir & Professor Riel” he informed, watching him quietly as he tried to rack his brains for an Edmund. That didn’t really ring bells, they were likely in completely different groups of crowds and grades all together. |

224 WORDS ▪ @minh ▪ NOTES Edmund's gaze fell to the ground as the boy got defensive over his apology, but he still sat down on the bench. He bent over before he took his seat to loosen a few blades of grass from the ground, rolling them in his hands. The boy made a comment about nether of them knowing how chocolate affected squirrels, and Edmund shrugged. "I'm sure it's no big deal, squirrels'll eat anything you toss to them." Which was why he had plucked the grass -- while it definitely wasn't a rodent's favorite food, maybe he could try to offer it to the squirrel if it came back over. He sat quietly as the boy introduced himself as Minh. He was older than Edmund by two or three years, being a fourth year. "That explains why I don't think I've seen you, I guess" Edmund commented with a grin. The boy -- Minh -- explained that he had been adopted by Professors Tajir and Riel, and Edmund tilted his head slightly, trying to figure out if he had heard of that before. He couldn't seem to remember mention of that, but it was quite likely that he'd heard but never actually paid attention, as was rather typical of him. "Sorry, doesn't ring a bell. But I know of you now, which is all that really matters, I suppose."

“I suppose it doesn’t really matter” Minh shrugged, glancing back at the boy. “Dogs don’t usually die instantly from a single oreo, so I’m sure it’s alright”
There were dogs who were malnourished and ate everything and anything in his village, they likely ate chocolate and other such goodies on their pillaging of trashcans. They usually lived a good three or five years, not long for pets but long for something that was just scraping by in life.
Focusing a bit more on the youth next to him, he was silent as he tried to really think what to say next. The two of them didn’t look like much in common, beyond their obvious connection to the school which meant they had… abilities.
Minh pondered a moment, was it polite to bring up what made them weird genetic freaks? Possibly not, but when did that really stop him from asking those sorts of questions.
“So, how did you end up here?” he asked curiously, watching him curiously before grinning a bit. Some reason, he hoped it was something completely unexpected. Super strength or combustion! Something that could be used for some miscellaneous fun in town.
“It’s not like you're just super smart and got into some weird prestige snob academy”
Of course, there was that rare kid or two that was practically human. Those kids were weird to him, they should have just stayed home and went to boring normal classes. Of course, Minh had bad judgment on the mental abilities that didn’t do anything beyond give you an answer within a second. |

175 WORDS ▪ @minh ▪ this is late and short I'm sorry Edmund nodded faintly at the oreo comment. That was true, and besides, oreos probably didn't have any real chocolate in them. Right? He was pulled back out of his thoughts by Minh asking how he ended up here. Was he asking about Edmund's power..? He shot a slightly confused glance at the other boy, but his confusion was dispelled as Minh continued to somewhat sarcastically explain his question. "Yeah, I'm not smart enough to get into a school like that, anyway. I'm a telekinetic, and I can sort of read minds?" He shrugged. "Not that I really use either of them. Telekinesis is ridiculously impractical and I hate digging into people's minds to figure out what they're feeling. It's just invasive." He didn't mention his problem with control over the telekinesis, and he definitely stopped short of explaining how he'd gotten his powers. There was no reason to and he wasn't going to talk about his past if he didn't need to. "Um, what about you? What's you power?" he questioned the boy in response.
