Shine on me tonight...I will be your gravity. I will stay and never leave...
[attr="class","nthlftsybdytxt1"]The moon shone rather brightly that night. It was one of the first things that a particular fourth year had noticed upon stepping outside from the men’s side of the hot springs- if not the first thing altogether, truth be told. Upon taking his first steps into the clearing, he found his eyes drifting upwards almost at once; clear, shining orbs of azure trailing across the specks strewn all throughout the heavens above as they shone their soft, distance glow and radiance upon the land from unspeakable distances afar. They gradually embarked upon a subtle, imaginary venture throughout the voids of blackened skies that spanned between each of the stars, connecting the unseen lights and dots every so often in recognition of a given constellation before ultimately finding themselves settling upon the moon as it took the primary focus above. With the names and formations of the stars and their respective astral constellations continuously lingering within his intellect, her took a deepened and absentminded gander upon the moon. A faint smile tugged upon his lips while he did so. ”A waning gibbous…” he murmured softly to himself. He blinked softly and quietly as voids of navy briefly and gently veiled over, enveloping his vision within a temporary darkness. ”Two more phases before the new moon… Soon after he had spoken his most recent words, his eyes opened yet again- though had assumed a much more narrowed and distant look while he did so. ”...Two more phrases before the new cycle, and a new start…” Several moments of silence filtered through the air for a short while. However, Dennis Kenji Korikawa had been swift to continue throughout the hot springs that evening soon afterwards, sighing deeply yet inaudibly as he made his way towards the edge of the spring itself. Gazing around the bounds of the men’s side, he tilted his head curiously and in a minor bout of confusion before idly realizing that, lo and behold, he was seemingly actually the only person present at the moment- though not that he minded, of course. Being able to catch some time alone - and beneath the shroud of clear stars, nonetheless - was something that he enjoyed often times, though he merely found it odd, despite the later time. In any case, he gave a casual, self oriented shrug before directing his attention towards the heated waters before him. With only a second or so in thought to regard the fact that he hadn’t quite spent any time within an area such as this since well before he was twelve - and that it had actually been a rather long while since he had visited Japan in itself - he stepped into the waters with nothing more than the supplied towel offered to him as it remained wrapped firmly and securely around his waist. Wading along the edge for several paces, he took a soft breath before pushing off and towards the central area of the waters, swimming around a little bit to warm himself up in both temperature and muscle alike before making his way over to the stone composed springside, and ultimately managing to find an area to sit comfortably somewhat near the dividing wall that separated the area that he inhabited from the women’s section. Once he was settled in, he peered back into the skies, and the smile that he had worn earlier found itself gradually and idly stretching vaguely upon his lips once more. Lifting his arms onto the stone behind him, he leaned back and closed his eyes, taking the moment alone to freely sing a few tunes under his breath in a melodious manner.

As the swim captain admired the heavens a blur of silver and red dove beneath the surface of the warm waters on the opposite side of the boys’ springs. Beneath the surface the blue made no sign of moving anytime soon. Instead it stayed absolutely still, cursing its existence, and wishing that it could just disappear. However, there was nowhere for the blue to run or hide without revealing its presence and identity to the boy in the spring, which is something the blur refused to do in this situation and with good reason. This blur went by the name Shimizu Manami, a new member of the Aurora swim team but more important to this situation was the fact that she was a girl. A girl trapped in a boys’ spring with a guy and nothing to cover herself with except a towel she had left at the nearby edge of the spring. She would’ve been wearing a swimsuit had it not been for the fact that she had been kidnapped when she was brought to this spring meaning that she wasn't exactly given the proper time to pack. She didn't have any time to pick out a swimsuit and thus was left with nothing to wear while in the springs.
Manami had never even wanted to go to the springs in the first place but was actually dragged onto this trip by her irritating swim captain. She had made it very clear to him that she didn't want to go but he had refused to take no as an answer. He even went as far as freezing her and carrying her onto the bus against her will, she was almost certain she could sue him for that. Why did he have to be so incredibly stubborn? She didn't know, his insistence that she go on the trip made no sense to her. Why did he even care if she went or not? It was all so frustrating, she didn't want to come in the first place as it would mean revealing her scars, in her anger at being dragged her she hadn't been thinking clearly when picking springs, and now she was trapped in the boys’ spring with a guy and nothing to cover herself with besides a towel. To make matters worse she didn't even truly see who had walked into the spring as the moment she saw it was a male she had hid from sight. This is all his fault! This is all Dennis’ fault! If anything happens it's his fault!
Her emotions were confused and flustered as she couldn't chose between being angry at Dennis or afraid of the stranger in the spring with her. Why couldn't she just fade into non existence or have a useful power like teleportation?! He wanted out and she wanted out now but there was no way to escape without revealing herself and she was too afraid of who the stranger might be to do that.
What if they are a pervert?! What do I do then?! I don't have any clothes! What if they try to do something to me?! There isn't anyone here to help me! Dennis this is all your fault!
Ugh! You always make everything so complicated! Just knock the guy out and be done with it
Levi, we can't just go around knocking people out!
You’re the one afraid that he is a pervert. Would you prefer being violated over breaking that moral code of yours?
Shut up! You know, this is your body as well!
I do, which is why I completely plan on intervening if you are too much of a coward to defend yourself
I am not a coward! This entire situation is just embarrassing!
Yea, you made that quite clear when your face turned as red as a tomato when a guy came in. Tell me, how did we end up in the boys’ spring again?
Be quiet! I wouldn't even be here's if it wasn't for Dennis!
Speaking of Dennis, I’ve been meaning to ask. Why do you think he dragged us here? Personally, I think he is a pervert and wanted to peek on us
Levi that is not the issue right now! Also Dennis is not a pervert just a bit irritating!
Before they could continue this discussion an intense burning pain erupted in Manami’s chest. Her body had begun desperately searching for air and her heart rate increased immensely as her oxygen deprived body began to panic. She no longer had a choice, she had to surface or she was going to drown. Though honestly, drowning didn't sound like that much of a bad idea at the moment. In the next moment Manami would break the surface gasping for air. She tried he best to keep as much of her body as possible beneath the surface to prevent revealing it but in her desperate need for air she wasn't sure whether she had succeeded or not. Either way she would quickly grab her nearby towel after catching her breath, wrap it around herself, and glare in the direction of the source of her anxiety, the boy at the other end of the spring. She couldn't tell who he was yet as the water dripping down from her hair fell into her eyes blurring her vision but it wouldn't be too long before she figured out who he was.

Shine on me tonight...I will be your gravity. I will stay and never leave...
[attr="class","nthlftsybdytxt1"]”Anata no namae wo yonde kureta~?” Truth be told, he hadn’t quite noticed just how far into the song that he had gotten. All that he knew - or rather, was able to notice within his more or less distant state of mind while he sung and stargazed quietly - was that the song that he was occupying himself with was within his native tongue, as well more than halfway through. With those last lyrics, the song was metaphorically marked to have just passed what was perhaps three fourths of the way through, with little more than several lines remaining before it would have ended. Rather than singing the remainder of the lyrics, however, Dennis had simply allowed the appreciative smile that he wore to broaden ever more, and he shifted from vocal expression to a simple hum along to the rest of the song as he leaned further back, his form sliding down a little bit more until the lower half of his face had been able to be submerged beneath the water’s surface. Bright, cerulean pools of his would have remained upon the skies high above him all the while, and would have eventually and slowly veiled over blissfully and peacefully at first as his humming had begun to near the end of the song that he had absentmindedly begun focusing on throughout his arrival within the springs. Such a period of general peace and like would have continued onwards until he had begun reaching the last portions of the song. Rather than being able to finish the melody as he had idly planned to, he found himself opening his eyes once more and immediately glancing over towards the opposing side of the hot springs as he heard a sound similar to something breaking the water’s surface, as well as what he could have sworn was a gasp or a sharp inhale of some sorts. He remained submerged as he was for several moments at first; subtly and vaguely awkward upon realizing that he hadn’t been the lone person within the area like he had perceived it to be at first. Given a few seconds had passed, however, he would have moved and shifted where he sat, beginning to sit straight enough to allow his upper body to be visible upon the surface. His head tilted as he leaned over in attempt to gain a better, yet cautious view of whatever or whoever had inhabited the other side of the waters, and for a short lived while, he debated on whether or not he should swim over to check it out. If the scene had remained unchanging for a little while more, he truthfully would have chosen to begin his venture over, and had actually leaned over and lazily submerged the lower half of his face beneath the spring water again as he swam a few strokes closer towards the center. Upon seeing a certain other person make a break for the ground, however, he couldn’t help but come to a dead stop where he was, accidentally and instinctively letting a sudden breath out into the water as the realization of who she was seemed to click almost instantly, which, in turn, caused a flurry of spontaneous and violent bubbles to erupt within the water. The sound of their formation and popping would have been followed quickly by the sounds of him beginning to choke after accidentally inhaling some of the spring waters. Still coughing and attempting to recompose himself, he covered his mouth as he spun around, facing the opposite side of where Manami was, keeping himself afloat as he looked away on pure, instinctive shock, as well as courtesy. ”I-... If...you’re who I think you are,” his voice rang out in between coughs, ”why and how did you come to this side of the area…? And exactly how long have you been here…?”

As Manami’s vision began to clear it didn't take her long to realize just who the other person in the spring was. Of all the people it could’ve been it just had to be Dennis, part of her wanted to die right then and there. Why did it have to be someone she saw so often? How was she ever going to explain this to him? If it had just been a stranger she could’ve just moved on with her life and try to act as if it had never happened. She probably would never see that stranger again and as such it wouldn't be that much of an issue in her future. Unfortunately, Manami hadn't been that lucky but if there was one benefit to the person being Dennis it was that she was almost certain he wasn't a pervert. He wouldn't try to do anything to her while she was in her current vulnerable and mostly unclothed state.
You sure about that? I mean he is a guy and you are basically naked. That sounds like it would be pretty arousing to me. Unless he is gay…. Do you think he is gay?
Levi! What are you saying?! I already told you he isn't a pervert and why does it matter if he is gay?
I’m just saying if he happens to be gay then we are completely safe. Also you say he isn't a pervert but I am not convinced yet. I mean he is a teenage boy alone in a hot spring with a nearly naked teenage girl…. think about all those hormones
What are you implying?!
Then again, we look like a ten to twelve year old so he probably won't find is attractive. Look at that your underdevelopment is finally beneficial~ Unless he is a loli on…. Let's hope he isn't a lolicon
Shut up!
Hahaha! I knew I could piss you off~
You! You! Ugh! Why do I ever listen to you?!
Because you don't really have a choice~ Anyways, it seems he is doing us the courtesy of looking away. Maybe he isn't a pervert… Guess you win this time but yo do realize what this means, right? He most likely got a glimpse of you naked~
What?!
Manami’s anger at Levi was instantly drown out by the embarrassment and panic that was summoned by the realization Levi shared with her. Dennis was looking away, meaning that he most of realized that Manami hadn't been clothed for a moment. To make the realization he must’ve gotten a glimpse of her naked body at the very least. Even if he only saw it for a moment he did see the entirety of her body. She should’ve been embarrassed, angry, flustered but instead her body suddenly became very still and relaxed. The voice that escaped her mouth next belonged to Manami but it sounded as if it should’ve belonged to Levi. It was cold, almost emotionless except for the malice that pouring out of it like water from the top of a waterfall.
”How much did you see?”
She had completely ignored Dennis’ questions and instead responded with a question of her own. How the boy responded was going to determine his fate. The anger about being dragged on to this trip had been completely forgotten but was quickly replaced by a much larger and darker rage. If necessary the silver haired girl was now completely prepared to start using certain knowledge she had gained in junior high to solve her current situation. She had promised to never use it unless it was life or death but what had just happened was an assault on her pride, dignity, and purity as far as she was concerned. In her current mindset she was certain that this could fall under the category of defending herself. He has seen body, her scars, and Manami wasn't going to let him off easy even if the current situation was mostly her fault.

For a short while, the swim captain found himself staring directly before the border of the current spring as it remained secured in front of him. His eyes remained upon it within a rather distant manner as he clearly heard the inquiry posed before him, as well as the particular, chilling, and malevolent tone that it had been spoken within. ...Aaaaah… Crap, man…Swallowing slowly and quietly, the fourth year inhaled deeply and silently, gradually lifting his hands from the water as he pondered his choices carefully and thoughtfully. Manami hadn’t been able to see it from the angle that she had been standing from, as well as the particular stance and direction away from her that Dennis himself had been taking care to maintain all throughout the rather tense and awkward experience that had been occurring thus far, but he cursed softly to himself within his native, Japanese tongues as azure voids of his veiled over to emphasize his pensive and cautious nature, shutting tightly as if the gesture would further enhance his focus. Either one of his hands would have grasped warmly and firmly upon the opposing bicep as he crossed his arms, and he tapped his fingers against his skin, all while tapping his foot against the bottom of the spring floor as he gradually brought himself into a stance and secured his footing against it from well beneath the water’s surface. I could go two ways about this… he began to think to himself. One...I could play dumb. Say that I didn’t see a thing, but...God, that would be so untrue. And it would be so bullshit, since we both know that I obviously saw something. Two, I could try and hit the in between zone…? Maybe she’d believe that I didn’t see too much. It was a really short amount of time, too, so she might buy it… But then again...she obviously doesn’t sound like she’s in the mood for even the slightest lie…A low, groaning whine rumbled from within his throat as his fingers tapped faster in frustration against his skin, though they eventually ceased as they each clenched into his upper arms on bad habit and reflex alike. Gradually, his eyes opened once more - albeit narrowly - and focused upon the waters around him for a short while. ...This is such a bad idea...but they do say that honesty is a virtue… God...dammit. Here we go, then…With that final thought, Kenji inhaled deeply, closing his eyes for yet another time as he held the taken breath within his lungs. All the while, he lifted his head, staying as he was before peering straight ahead of him and at the borders and distance of the other spring attractions and areas once more. For sake of courtesy and caution alike, he remained turned around as he exhaled deeply and slowly, not quite knowing whether or not Manami had gathered her towel at the very least. He did turn around somewhat quickly at first, after all. His head tilted down to face the waters once more, a temporary silence enveloping him for a final time. Another sigh left his lips soon enough. ”...How, uh… How...would you feel if I said that...I...actually saw a lot in that short time? If...not...probably almost everything…?”

Hahahahahahahaha! I can’t believe it he actually admitted to it! This is hysterical! He’s still looking away too! Hahahaha! This is too good to be true! He’s so honest and innocent it’s just so perfect. Hahahahaha!
The laughter was completely abnormal compared to the demon girl’s usual laughter that carried a malicious and almost evil ring to it. This laugh was filled with pure joy and amusement, she was loving the entire situation. Maybe it was because she wasn’t in control of the body that she had subconsciously dissociate herself from the current situation. Her current logic was that Manami was in control so Dennis had seen Manami naked not her and as such at first she felt no shame. However, her feelings of security were quickly shattered once she received a response from her other half. Her delusions were shattered by her other half’s words that reminded the monster girl of the reality of their situation that couldn’t be denied no matter what argument Levi tried to come up with.
Don’t act like this doesn’t affect you! It doesn’t matter if you aren’t in control since we share the exact same body! He has seen you naked as well!
It was something that the she couldn’t deny, no matter how different Manami and Levi were their body was still the same. If something happened to one of them it happened to the other, if one dyed their hair the other’s hair was dyed as well, if one scraped their knee the other persona scraped their knee as well. At the end of the day there was no escaping their intertwined fate and at the realization that Dennis had indeed seen her naked something dark stirred inside Levi. Memories erupted into her head like lava out of a volcano and intense array of negative emotions washed over her. One memory in particular stuck out, she remember being naked curled up in a ball against the cold steel walls of a cell she had been kept in. A man stood at the entrance of her cell, a strange hunger could be seen inside his eyes, slowly he opened the door and began approaching her. She couldn’t watch what happened next, she refused to relive that, and in response to Levi’s anxiety Manami’s muscles began to tense up involuntarily. The small silver haired girl could feel the monster girl’s chaotic emotions but couldn’t sense the source of them and like a small fish stuck in a strong current she got dragged into flood of emotions.
”Never again. I refuse. I won’t let that happen ever again. I’ll make them pay. I’ll make them all pay. Revenge. Retribution. Slaughter. Death. Kill. Kill. Kill.”
Manami had been completely suppressed by the sudden onslaught of negative emotions and what took her place was a highly unstable Levi. The words that slipped out of her mouth were as loud as a whisper as if she was trying to communicate to some kind of invisible force next to her. She was talking to herself, restating a promise she had made to herself many years ago. To be more accurate, it was a promise the original Manami had made to herself many years ago. It was the promise that brought the current Manami and Levi into existence. A promise to never let anyone or anything take advantage of her again, a promise to destroy anything that ever tried to hurt her, a promise to become strong. Neither persona remember this promise but it still remained ingrained into their very being, a promise that could never be broken. Unfortunately, for the swim captain currently standing in the spring he was the only one there, the only one that the demon girl could blame her suffering on. In her unstable state, she couldn’t tell the difference between him and her abusers from so many years ago. Her grip on reality was gone and he was going to pay the price for it.
”You…. You are responsible for this…. You saw…. I’ll make you pay…”
With those few words Levi had begun her assault. There wasn’t any technique or form in her attack just a desperate need to destroy the target in front of her as if she was a wild animal that had been forced into a corner. She jumped at Dennis not even thinking rationally enough to activate her transformation but instead just tackled him in her human form. While to any onlooker it may have seemed her motivation had been raged the truth was actually quite different. She was afraid, so desperately afraid of facing her memories, so terrified of her past abuses that she was projecting the memory of abusers on to Dennis.

Now, Dennis himself hadn’t been able to hear too much as the others were caught in their own little world for the meantime, but that didn’t stop him from feeling an odd, chilling vibe shoot down his spine to contrast against the heat of the springs as the silence filled the air. He couldn’t quite hear the conversations that they were having with one another, but regardless, he could swear that he legitimately felt something off in the atmosphere as the bout of quietness enveloped the spring itself, save for the distant sounds of water falling from the other portions of the area. By that point, he grew even more cautious, and brought himself to stare at the walls for only a couple more moments before glancing over at the waters towards his side curiously. Although he didn’t say anything at first, he kept his gaze upon the waters in thought as he adjusted a keen ear to listen to his surroundings. At first, he was unable to hear anything, though as the vague ring of footsteps registered themselves throughout his ears, the same could have very well been applied to the murmurs that he also could have sworn that he took note of, even if they had been completely lost and inaudible to him as far as coherent words and meaning went. Blinking, he furrowed his brows upon listening, and after a couple of moments, he fully found it in himself to turn around and begin to face the girl. Of course, before he could fully do so, he felt himself give a sudden, shocked cry on instinct as he felt an impact hit him from the sidelines of the springs. All at once, he fell over by sole virtue of being unprepared for it, briefly becoming submerged within the water before he could so much as take a breath or brace himself for the action. For a split second, he could’ve sworn that his heartbeat palpitated from the abruptness of the current scenario as he felt a momentary blast from the past in the form of fear - specifically as the water filled his mouth mid-breath - though he was swift to struggle and regain his stance. Although he had been unable to shove the girl away with the amount she was attempting to fight against him, Dennis managed to swim a stroke or so back out of luck, and took the moment to pull his head and part of his body from the water once more as he took a gasping breath, and coughed as a result of feeling a small amount of water wash down the wrong pipe and straight into his lungs. He covered his mouth, but only for a moment as he watched the other come lashing at him once more. The hand he held to his lips immediately hooked around and remained secured before him, and was soon supported by the other arm as he did his best to block and bat away whatever enraged swings and punches that she had to offer him. ”H-Holy-... G-God damn, Manami…! C-Calm down…!” he yelled, unknowingly addressing the wrong entity at that particular moment in time. He continuously kept his arms and hands held up in defense, watching her through a careful glare as she continued moving for the meantime. After another span of time had passed, however, he took his chances and leaned to the side before reaching out, quickly grabbing one of her wrists amidst her suddenly aggressive behavior. Once he had taken the brunt of another hit or two, he finally managed to shoot his other hand to grasp her remaining wrist. His grip was strong and solid, though he made sure not to apply enough pressure to hurt her in any sense. ”C-Calm down…! Jesus Christ, man, just-... Just calm down…!” he repeated again, cringing slightly from the stinging sensations that her hits had left upon his body as he peered directly at her. The change in her eye color would have been an obvious thing to take note of on normal occasion, though given that she had suddenly erupted, he was more or less too distracted to notice it as of then. Thus, he simply kept his grasp firm and true as he furrowed his brows. ”S-Seriously…! What the Hell’s gotten into you all of the sudden…?!”

She wanted him dead, that was one thing she was sure of. The boy in front of her was no longer Dennis the swim captain as far as she was concerned. The line between her memories and reality had faded leaving the poor boy as the embodiment of her fears, something that needed to be erased. When she had first tackled him into the water she had planned to drown him but due to his swimming ability he had managed to escape that fate. As her bloodlust began to grow so did he transformation as her eyes turned yellow and sharp teeth began to form. Around her body patches of scales began to form and slowly spread across her skin but never covered her entire body. Despite her current insanity she still continually ensured that her towel was in place and not going to fall off anytime soon.
”Stop defending yourself!”
She once again pounced at the captain and beginning yet another assault. The boy’s decision to raise his arms into a defensive position was a wise one as Levi unleashed a rainstorm of punches at him. She wasn’t going to hold back, not this time. However, despite her intent the force of her punches never reached maximum power due to the subconscious intervention of a certain girl that was resting inside the inner workings of their mind. She might’ve been buried beneath an ocean of Levi’s dark emotion but she was still the dominant personality even in the current situation her feelings still had influence at least enough to forcibly make her dark half to hold back. Yet at the same time this was all Manami’s feelings could do to help the swim captain and his words weren’t going to reach Levi. She couldn’t calm down, even if she was the current controlling personality she didn’t actually have any control over the current situation. Her emotions had taken the steering wheel from her before she had even emerged and it didn’t seem like they were going to release the wheel anytime soon. If the boy hadn’t grab her wrist the continuous rain of fist would’ve continued until her she was physically unable to move her arms.
”Let go off me! Don’t touch me! You are just like them! Die! Vanish from existence! Just leave me alone!”
She tried to break free of his grip and struggled relentlessly but her strength was already leaving her. She pulled and kicked trying to get her arms free but as time went on the ferocity of her struggle faded. Going from a violent effort to mild strain, like a fire slowly being deprived of oxygen until it whimpered out into nothingness. Eventually, she stop struggling against his grip and stood in the water as Dennis held her wrists. Her yellow eyes were still glaring at the boy with a smoldering flame of rage still dancing within them yet at the same time something odd began to occur. A trickle of water dripped from one of her eyes, followed by another droplet of water, followed by yet another, and this kept repeating itself it till it was very obvious the girl was crying. The former fire had been put out by a ocean of water that had begun to build up in the girl’s eyes. A small whimper could be heard escaping from her mouth as she continued to stand in the warm waters of the spring. Slowly, Levi’s rationality was returning to her but her emotions were still prevalent and in immense disorder as such she wasn’t able to keep up the usual tough act.
Weak….. Why am I still so weak..? Nothing has changed. If I can’t defend myself what even is the point of my existence? I can’t even beat a single man even when I caught him off guard

Of course, it was needless to say that he didn’t let go when he was shouted at to do so. Rather, he did somewhat of the opposite. He had caught a glimpse or two of her shifting abilities a handful of times when he had first met her a while back, though watching and noticing her beginning to indulge within her partial shift was still rather shocking to him. The sight caused him to briefly tighten his grasps upon her wrists, though after her realized what he had instinctively done, he was swift to revoke whatever extra force he had exerted upon her, instead settling for the prior security that he held her within to prevent her from aiming more strikes upon his being. He remained silent, solidly returning the glare that was given to him through still shocked and cautious pools of blue, Silence overwhelmed him once more, even as he broke the gaze to peer down towards the areas where he had been hit once more. Each and every one of them still felt pained, though gradually began to dull in feeling, which was both a good and a bad sign. Good because he wouldn’t have to mind it as much for the meantime, and bad because he was probably going to be suffering from bruises sooner or later. His eyes would have closed soon after his brief inspection, though instead of doing that, he found his vision and focus straying towards the one before him once more as he took note of another sound; specifically and namely the whimper that she had involuntarily released. Almost at once, he glanced up, and he felt his eyes widen in confusion and a different type of surprise as he watched the tears flow from her eyes and down her face. All the while, he remained silent for another period of time following that, mulling over the earlier words that she had spoken no more than a minute prior. ”You are just like them!”Those were the main words to cycle through his mind as he watched her. He remained still at first, though eventually found his grip on her faltering. After little time, he had fully let go of her, though following a brief, internal battle of his next action out of caution, slowly took a wading step forward. It may or may not have been the best thing to do at the moment because of the outlash, but he cared not as he simply took her in a gentle and soft-touched hug, glancing over her and towards the grounds bordering the springs at first. ”...Look. I...don’t know what happened to you. And if I did something other than say something earlier, then I’m sorry,” he murmured. ”And what you said earlier… I don’t know who you meant when you said ‘just like them’, and I’m not really sure if I wanna know. But...whoever they are, they sound like a really bad crowd that hurt you. ...I can assure you that I’m not out to get you, or out to hurt you or anything. Do you hear me?”

”It’s not fair…. How can I still be so weak?”
Her words were spoken softly but still in the audible range yet the bloodlust that was formerly in her voice had vanished. Instead there was an underlying tone of weakness in her voice as if any confidence she had was drained from her body. As Dennis let go of her wrists, her arms limply fell to her sides. She didn’t move instead she just stood in the water in front of him trembling. She no longer had the rage to motivate her need to destroy him nor the energy to continue the assault. Slowly the partial transformation began to undo itself until once again she was just a normal girl with ocean blue eyes instead of a yellow eyed demon girl with razor sharp teeth. The tears had stopped flowing from her eyes but an ocean could still be seen welling up in her blue eyes and it was very obvious she was still completely uncertain.
Her muscles instantly tensed up when Dennis suddenly embraced her and she pushed back against him lightly at first before just giving in. If she was in her normal state of mind she would’ve punched the boy at this point or thrown him across the spring but luckily for the captain she wasn’t. She still wouldn’t admit to appreciating the hug but at least he wasn’t going to end up maimed at the end of it. As she gave into the embrace she could hear his heart’s beat inside his chest and let its steady beat slowly calm down her own frantic heart as she calmly listen to his words. As she managed to finally begin composing herself she slowly open her mouth and she tried to think of what to say. At first she came up blank, not single word of response came to her mind but after a moment she managed to force out a few words.
”Is that a promise? Can you swear to that? Promise me, if you mean what you say promise me that right now”

His eyes narrowed faintly upon hearing her initial, seemingly self oriented remark, and he blinked quietly while remaining silent at first. Upon feeling her begin to push against him for the short time that she did, he merely tightened his grip on her gently, though reverted to the force that his embrace had initially been within as she stopped and gave in. ”...I’m sure you’re not as weak as you say and think you are. Hell...I’m pretty sure that you’re stronger than I am, for what it’s worth…” he murmured lowly, absentmindedly and not quite noticing that he had left the second remark that slipped from his lips out. Unknowingly yet instinctively, he rested his chin on top of her head as he gazed distantly and thoughtfully at the waters rippling around them. For a short while following his own responses, he fell silent once, still hugging her softly all the while as he pondered over the latest inquiries that he posed before him. At first, he merely kept as he was with his arms around her in a rather gentle and unknowingly protective and soothing manner as he pondered her words. From the start and by sole virtue of having the personality that he did, he already knew his response the moment she had finished asking him, though he refrained from talking immediately afterwards for sake of allowing her more time to calm down. Subtly, he could feel her heartbeat as she rested against him, and thus he felt how quickly it had been pounding in her chest for a short while. It wasn’t until it had returned to a reasonably normal beating pattern that he inhaled deeply, closing his eyes and shrugging softly as he nodded. He sighed softly. ”...On my life and well-being? Yeah. Yeah, I promise,” he replied after a short while. ”Be it if it’s on accident or if it happens on purpose - which I’m, like...ninety-nine-point-nine-nine-nine and all the other nine’s percent sure that it’ll never be on purpose - I promise. Alright? I’m not out to get you.”

”Thank you…”
Even if she would denied it profusely later, the words that came out of the boy’s mouth were the ones she needed to hear. When Dennis increased the tightness of her embrace she put no effort into pushing him away. However, as her emotions began to calm and the raging storm inside of her turned into light drizzle her former mindset began to return to her. It was a slow process but nonetheless it was occurring and as she got closer to a more stable state she once again began to push away from Dennis. She had found comfort in his words but the full reality of the situation was returning to her. Both her and Dennis were only in towels, they were almost naked, yet here she was in direct contact with him. She might of been a demon child but she could still become incredible flustered if pushed too far and she had already been in a bad state of mind. This situation would’ve reactivated her trauma memories once again if it hadn't been for the fact that Dennis had managed to gain some of her trust with his promise.
”Hey…. Mr. Fish for brains, would you mind letting go of me? This would look pretty odd if someone walked in right now”
She was almost back to her normal self and as such she refused to let herself be seen in a weakened state. As such she broke eye contact with Dennis in order to hide the blush that had begun to form on her face. She needed to be tough, she needed to be strong, she had already shown the boy in front of her too much weakness. She couldn't show him anymore of her weak side, she was suppose to be the strong one. How could she let herself have a breakdown like that? Why did it have to happen in front of someone that Manami knew? Manami was never going to let her live this down if she had seen it. Hopefully, she hadn’t and was just slumbering in their subconscious. Either way in the next moment, if Dennis released her, Levi would move over to the side of the spring on take a seat on the edge with her feet dangling in the water. Taking a deep breath she regained her composure be the blush had drained from her face. Slowly she raised her head and made eye contact with Dennis again.
”So what now?”

By then, a faint smile of amusement and understanding tugged upon his lips as he nodded. ”...No sweat. So long as you’re fine, now, at least,” he murmured softly yet leisurely within a response. While still speaking this words, his hold on her gradually began to lighten once more, and he lifted his head and chin from the top of her head. Within the same, gradual span of time, he felt her begin to push back once more, and out of curiosity, he blinked before pulling away slightly and peering down at her, only to see her seemingly attempt to avoid his gaze as she gave her next remarks. A moment or two would have passed as her statements fully registered within his mind, though once they did, the smile that he wore broadened as he shrugged. With another nod and a chuckle of amusement, he drew his arms and hands away from her, lifting them innocently as he took a step back. ”Heh, sorry, sorry. Point taken, but I just wanted to make sure you were okay, first,” he replied. While glancing down at her, he focused on her form and the fact that she was looking away from him, raising an eyebrow in both confusion and curiosity all the same. He was about to lean over in attempt to catch a better glimpse of her expression, though before he was actually able to, he found himself peering after her as she made her way over towards the edge of the springs. As she took her seat, he smirked at her for a couple more moments before walking back to the area where he was earlier, sitting himself down, as well, and submerging a portion of his upper body within the waters once more as he gave a soft sigh in relaxation. His arms lifted and rested on either side of the spring shore as he pondered her next inquiry. ”Mmm...dunno,” he mused aloud at first, chuckling and shrugging as he shut his eyes and tilted his head back. He hummed under his breath before opening his eyes again to peer up at the stars and skies above them. ”...Probably just talk to try and leave all that in the past. ...Anything you wanna talk about? Anything about the team, or just...anything else?”

While it was nice while it last Levi's unstable emotional state had finally passed. She was backed to her usual aggressive, cynical, mischievous, and maddening self. It wasn't like the emotions she had previously felt were gone but it would be a more accurate to say that they had been buried. They were a sign of weakness, potential doors that could let someone into the most vulnerable parts of ones heart, and Levi wasn't ever going to willingly open those doors again. She was powerful, resilient, and independent. She didn't need someone else to comfort her, she didn't need other people to pull her out of the darkness. One couldn't rely on other people without opening themselves up to betrayal and weakness. Manami might be okay with things such as that but she wasn't nor was she ever planning to be. She was the demon to Manami's angel, she was the darkness to Manami's light, the coldness to Manami's warmth, and the hard rock to Manami's soft wool. Levi knew what her role was, she was suppose to be the tough one out of the pair, the one who could stand up against any threat without fear. She was created to protect and destroy any threats that was her purpose or at least that's what she thought. Her role was certain to her even if Manami tried to tell her it didn't have to be that way. Who was going to do the protecting if she wasn't? Who was going to distrust strangers if she didn't? Manami certainly wasn't, her innocent other half had too much faith in other people. Yet this distrust and cynicism left her feeling empty as if there was always something missing, teasing and talking to Manami always help her feel better for a short while but she needed more. Like a child in desperate need of attention she created chaos to make sure she was acknowledged, they couldn't ignore her if she was creating trouble, and if they took action to stop her it proved that she truly did exist. However, no matter how much comfort she had found in Dennis' words she needed to prove that she was still tough, the same person she had been before the breakdown and she was going to prove it. At least she was until a certain voice popped out from inside her mind.
Oh... my.... GOD! Did I see what I just think I saw?! Did that really just happen?! Did you just have an emotional moment with another person?! He hugged you and he isn't dead! This is progress! This is such great progress!
SHUT UP MANAMI! Where the hell did you even come from?! I thought you had fallen asleep
I didn't go to sleep, just got drowned by whatever your emotional outburst was earlier. Honestly, that was a bit odd. Are you alright? That was very unlike you
I'm fine, don't worry about it. I just lost control for a few moments.
Really? That's odd but I can sense you don't want me to push any further so I won't. Anyways, more importantly I want you to tell me everything. I think I saw most of it but tell me do you think you can get along with him? I mean this could be your very first friend besides me and Kat. Come on please tell me you at least don't hate him
I guess he isn't a bad person.... but that smirk is pissing my off. Why is he chuckling? Why is he grinning like that? What is so fucking funny?! What is he finding so amusing?!
Levi... I don't think he is laughing at you so just take a deep breath. Come on he is inviting you to a conversation I'll walk you through it. It will be fun, I promise. Who knows, maybe you'll be able to have proper conversations on your own after this~
Why do I have to talk?! This is suppose to be your job not mine!
Levi we have been over this a thousand times, we don't have jobs as personalities. If I am social it doesn't mean that you can't be and if your aggressive it doesn't mean that I can't be. Just be yourself, you aren't bound by any rules when it comes to who you are. Look he brought up the team, you have my memories about the team. You are also a swimming fanatic so that is something you can talk about. Talk to him about the swim team
Fine, I'll talk
"What do you keep smiling about? You making fun of me? I'll hit you again and I won't hold back this time"
Levi! What the hell was that?!

He blinked from both amusement and surprise at the questions posed to him. Tilting his head ever so faintly, he cast pools of azure to focus upon the ashen haired second year afar as he continuously gave him what would have been easily perceived to be a rather piercing and inquisitive glare towards his general direction at that particular moment in time. His gaze remained upon her initially as he pondered the statements that she had asked of him, though with a casual, lenient shrug, he couldn’t help but breath another chuckle as he tilted his head upwards within a calm manner yet again, giving the moon and stars his attention for another time, all throughout the glimmering radiance that each, distant speck whatever distance away within the galaxies above them all exhibited. Puffing his cheeks out briefly, he tapped his fingers against the stone of the ground behind him as he leaned against it, clicking his tongue. ”I’m just...amused, is all. Kinda about how things just changed so suddenly, I guess…” he started off thoughtfully as his eyes scanned the darkened heavens. ”Not too long ago, you were just going all out and decking me. Definitely gonna have some bruises in a bit because of it. ...But now you’re just...sitting there. Part of me is thankful you’re not trying to tear my head off, and another part of me is wondering why you suddenly bursted like that to begin with. ...Then a third part of me is wondering if I did anything to trigger you or anything...and then a fourth part of me is just telling me to leave that be. Another story for another time, and all~.”Following that last statement, his lower jaw fell slightly, parting his lips within a faint, soft, and leisurely yawn as a breath escaped his lips, and he gave a soft murmur under his breath as he settled his focus upon the moon afar. ”...But...yeah. It’s just amusement in general. I’m not laughing at you or anything like that, though, so don’t worry.”
