I threw you out, I didn't outgrow you,
I just didn't know you
It's so terrifying how you paralyze me
How did love become so violent?
Everything was so sweet
I threw you out, I didn't outgrow you,
I just didn't know you
It's so terrifying how you paralyze me
How did love become so violent?
Everything was so sweet
Until you tried to KILL me
[attr="class","naopost"]This was it! Finally! After a long and tedious school year, the night she had been waiting for had finally arrived! Of course she had been to this sort of party before, but only ever long enough for the introduction, after all, until this year she had not been a student. She had been at home for most of the day, helping everyone set up, getting her hair and makeup done, and making sure that her dress fit perfectly. She had always been a perfectionist. "It's time Nao." Her brother had come to fetch her from her room, and she blushed rather softly as she felt his eyes roam over her. But it wasn't like they were romantically involved, if anything, Ren was looking where to stab her for the least amount of damage to the dress itself. Probably figuring out how to undo the laces to strangle her with if it came to that. But her twin was twisted that way. "You look... Nice."
The blonde curtsied for her twin and took ahold of his extended arm so that they could enter the party together. It was still rather early when they emerged, but still, the lights and music filled the air. All the sights and sounds of such a thing filled her with the same wonder and excitement that she had felt every year. But how she couldn't believe that this year, she would be able to stay! Of course, her twin was much less excited about it, grumbling lightly to himself. The two came down the stairs in the main hall to welcome the guests into their home. Again she would curtsy, and Ren would bow and shake their hands. She received kisses to her cheeks, or hugs in place of handshakes, but that was pretty typical of high society.
It wasn't long before their eldest brother joined them, along with some of their younger siblings, who always seemed to be glued to the catboy. How charming they all looked. Like some perfect sort of noble family. If only everyone knew the truth. But that was the point of gatherings like this now wasn't it? To prove that they were the best of the best. Their mother and father soon joined them, greeting the chaperones and teachers as they arrived. Still, Nao felt the pride in her chest. Luka was chastised for keeping his ears and tail out, which made her chuckle a bit, but eventually, their mother gave up and the adults once more retreated to the inner part of the mansion to finish preparing speeches and whatever else they needed to do.
After all the greetings had concluded and most of the guests had arrived, the twins followed their other siblings into the main hall where they walked around greeting and chatting with others. The two were practically inseparable, but that was the point wasn't it? No way would Ren ever have allowed his twin to be accompanied by anyone other than himself to any sort of event.
The noise died down as their mother, the principal, stepped forward on the balcony above them.
"Greetings! Welcome to our home! Many of you have been to this event before, but for those of you who are new, I just want to welcome you to enjoy yourselves at this party! There are a few rules to go over before the festivities truly begin. Firstly, you are able to explore most of the manor grounds. The maze, the garden, the pond, and the entirety of the East Wing are all open for your exploration! There is a pool, sauna, and hot tub available off of the gardens. There are games available to you, either in the arcade in the East Wing, or the Scavenger Hunt out in the garden. Also, you are able to request songs for your dances, just speak with the band manager. There are menu's if the food that has been set out is not to your liking. Just please make sure to stay in these areas, as I do have younger children here that will need their rest. The West Wing is completely off limits. Anyone found in it will be immediately removed from the grounds and will have a week's suspension. Now! Without further ado. Please, Enjoy yourselves!"
The twins both clapped along with others as their mother bowed a bit and moved off to go talk to a few teachers. "Ren..? I umm.. Can we get something to drink, perhaps?" After all, she really did want to socialize with the others here. But because of her controlling, overprotective brother, the poor girl didn't have too many friends. He just shrugged and dragged her along towards the drink table.
"You're not gonna make me dance, are you?" Ren asked, letting his sister go long enough to get them glasses of whatever the hell was being served. "I'm not a dancer." Well. Maybe she would just have to find someone else to try and dance with then...
